Abstract

In the current digital era, the Mendeley application has become one of the popular and useful tools for organizing, storing, and sharing references and research sources. However, despite Mendeley's wide recognition, not all midwifery students are aware of its full potential. Some students may lack sufficient understanding of Mendeley's features or may not be familiar with using the application in an academic context. As a result, they may not be able to fully utilize Mendeley to enhance the efficiency and quality of their scientific writing. The methods used in this training were lectures and discussions. The Community Service activity was conducted in March 2023, specifically at the Graha Edukasi Makassar STIKES campus. The participants consisted of 30 midwifery students. The results of the activity after providing training on the Mendeley application showed that the majority of the students (97%) demonstrated an increased level of knowledge regarding the Mendeley application. Mendeley can improve the knowledge level of the students, which is expected to have a positive implication for STIKES Graha Edukasi Makassar in enhancing the quality of education in the field of midwifery. Through Mendeley application training, this institution can support midwifery students in developing relevant digital skills and information literacy aligned with the needs of the times. Therefore, it is expected that this training can serve as a foundation for the development of broader training activities in the field of information technology and communication

Abstract

­Environmental sanitation is a formidable challenge for Maccini Baji Fisherman's Village, Pundata Baji Village, Pangkajene and Islands Regency because it is located on the coast with waterlogged conditions under the house. Community service was carried out in the form of environmental sanitation counseling with the aim of knowing the effect of environmental sanitation counseling on the knowledge of the community of Maccini Baji Fisherman Village, Pundata Baji Village, Pangkajene and Islands Regency in 2022. The method used, namely lectures and discussions with a one group pretest - posttest design using sheet media come back. The results of the data analysis showed that the average value of public knowledge before being given health counseling was 47.89 and after health counseling, the average value of community knowledge increased to 61.68. So that there is a difference in public knowledge before and after the extension. From the results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, the p-value is 0.003 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected, which means that there is an effect of environmental sanitation counseling to the community in the Fisherman's Village, Pundata Baji Village, Pangkajene Regency. Islands in 2022. Therefore, improving environmental sanitation is very important to minimize the health impacts caused as an effort to improve the health status of the community. Abstract

Introduction :Based on Southeast Sulawesi data that existed in 2017 with the implementation of early detection through the inspection of Visual Acetic Acid Inspection (IVA) the highest Positive IVA is Muna Regency 11 cases or 26.19% in the first place is the Batukara health center with the next four (4) cases in the city of Kendari five (5) cases or 5.34%. Method : This type of research is an experimental study,the population in this study were all female couples in the fertile age, at Batukara Health Center, namely Moolo Village and Lanobake Village. The number of women of childbearing age in a row is 161 people and 90 people. The sample size is 54 respondents, the sampling technique uses proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed descriptively and inferentially using the Wilcoxon rank test formula and the mann-whitney test. Result : The results showed that group counseling and leaflets influenced knowledge, attitudes and participation in the examination of the Visual Acetate Acid Inspection (IVA) in the Batukara Health Center. Conclusion :It is necessary to hold health education about early detection of cervical cancer by utilizing counseling groups and leaflets to the community, especially young women so that they can carry out as early as possible routinely and regularly every schedule determined, so that it is expected to be able to detect cervical cancer early.

Abstract

Introduction : The puerperium is a critical time for both mother and baby because of the possibility of problems and complications during the puerperium, if not treated immediately effectively will endanger health. This study aims to determine the relationship of education and training with the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation in the Pabutung Health Center, Pangkep Regency. Method : This type of research is analytic research using cross sectional, the population in this study is 30 midwives, sampling using a total sampling of 30 midwives. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately. Results: Univariate analysis, 100 injection acceptor KB (90.09%), and non- injection 11 (9.91). the results showed that there was a relationship between education (p = 0.009) and training (p = 0.017) with the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation where the p value <0.05. Conclusions: that there is a relationship between education and training with the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation at the Pabutung Health Center, Pangkep Regency. For midwives to further increase their knowledge of the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation and to midwives who have less knowledge in the implementation of early breastfeeding initiation so as to better enhance their understanding of the importance of carrying out early breastfeeding initiation.

Abstract

Comprehensive sexual education can equip individuals with knowledge about condom use, hygiene of sexual equipment, and other risk reduction strategies. Additionally, understanding the importance of HIV testing and counseling can encourage routine testing behavior, allowing individuals to manage risks and engage in safer sexual practices. Video-based health information outreach activities related to HIV-AIDS prevention were held at SMA Negeri 4 Pangkajene and Islands, using several methods, namely the first stage method of distributing brochures to teenagers about HIV/AIDS education, the second stage, health education related to preventing HIV disease. The third stage is filling out questionnaires to teenagers regarding HIV-AIDS prevention. The results of measuring the knowledge of students at SMA Negeri 4 Pangkep showed that the average level of knowledge before the counseling was carried out was 65.00% good knowledge and 35.00% poor knowledge. Meanwhile, the average level of knowledge after counseling was found to be good knowledge of 98.00%, and poor knowledge of 2.00%. Health education media about HIV/AIDS can increase students' knowledge regarding preventing HIV/AIDS. It is important to increase knowledge about HIV-AIDS and the role of the media in the form of leaflets, videos, television, newspapers and the internet in disseminating information about HIV-AIDS to teenagers, so that stigma and discrimination against PLWHA can be minimized

Abstract

Pengetahuan mengenai HIV dapat menurunkan risiko penularan virus ini dengan memberikan informasi yang benar tentang cara penularannya. Pendidikan seksual yang komprehensif dapat membekali individu dengan pengetahuan tentang penggunaan kondom, kebersihan alat-alat seks, serta strategi reduksi risiko lainnya. Selain itu, pemahaman akan pentingnya pengujian HIV dan konseling dapat mendorong perilaku pengujian rutin, memungkinkan individu untuk mengelola risiko dan melibatkan diri dalam praktik seksual yang lebih aman. Kegiatan penyuluhan informasi kesehatan berbasis Video terkait pencegahan HIV-AIDS diselenggarakan di SMK Negeri 2 Pangkep, menggunakan beberapa metode yaitu Metode tahap pertama pembagian Brosur kepada remaja tentang pencegahan HIV/AIDS, Tahap kedua, Penyuluhan Informasi Berbasis Video terkait pencegahan penyakit HIV. Tahap ketiga pembagian brosur kepada remaja tentang pencegahan HIV-AIDS. Hasil Pengukuran pengetahuan siswa SMK Negeri 2 Pangkep menunjukkan bahwa, rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan sebelum dilakukan penyuluhan didapat pengetahuan baik sebanyak 60,00% dan pengetahuan kurang sebanyak 40,00%. Sedangkan rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan sesudah dilakukan penyuluhan didapatkan pengetahuan baik sebanyak 95,00%, dan pengetahuan kurang sebanyak 5,00%. Media Edukasi berbasis Video kesehatan yang tentang HIV/AIDS dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang pencegahan penyakit HIV/AIDS. Pentingnya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang HIV-AIDS dan serta peran media seperti Video, televisi, surat kabar, dan internet dalam menyebarkan informasi tentang HIV-AIDS kepada remaja, agar stigma dan diskriminasi terhadap ODHA dapat diminimalisir

Abstract

Background: injuries are important because they are taught about basic techniques for saving victims from various accidents or daily disasters that are commonly encountered. Objective: To determine the  effect of the simulation method of handling acute injuries on increasing knowledge and skills in  Makassar Graha Education Stikes  Students. Method: Quantitative research method  with Quasi-Experimental  design (pseudo-experiment) with pre-test post test control group design  (pre-post test design) to determine the level of knowledge and skills with simulation methods for acute wound management. Results:  there is an influence of the simulation method on the level of knowledge and skills of STIKES Graha Edukasi Makassar students (p = 0.000). Conclusion: The simulation method of acute wound management effectively increases the knowledge and skills of students of Stikes Graha Edukasi Makassar, with significant improvements in both aspects and proven relationships between simulation methods and increased knowledge, as well as student skills.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and awareness of adolescent groups in Tupabbiring Village, Bontoa District, Maros Regency regarding the prevention of HIV/AIDS using Virtual Reality-based learning. Conducted by lecturers and students of STIKES Graha Edukasi Makassar, the activity involved preparation, implementation of health education, and evaluation stages. The health education was delivered through theory and practical sessions on HIV/AIDS prevention using Virtual Reality media. Evaluation through pre-test and post-test using SPSS showed an increase in participants’ knowledge from 51.36% to 93.03%. This activity demonstrates the effectiveness of Virtual Reality-based education in improving health knowledge and awareness among coastal adolescents with limited access to health services.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake over a long period of time and is often associated with an inadequate diet. This condition has a serious impact on the physical growth, cognitive development, and productivity of children in the future. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between diet and nutritional status and the incidence of stunting in children aged 2–5 years in the working area of the Mawasangka Health Center. Methods: This study used a cross sectional design with a sample of 80 children aged 2–5 years who were selected by purposive sampling. It will be held in November 2025. Data were collected using dietary questionnaires, anthropometric measurements (weight, height), and maternal interviews. Data analysis was carried out by Chi-Square test. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between diet and stunting incidence (p=0.001) and between nutritional status and stunting incidence (p=0.003). Children with an unbalanced diet are 3.5 times more likely to experience stunting than children with a good diet. Conclusion: Diet and nutritional status have a significant relationship with stunting events. Efforts are needed to improve balanced nutrition education for families to reduce stunting rates in the work area of the Mawasangka Health Center

Abstract

Most pairs of childbearing age do not want to use long-term contraceptive methods such as the IUD. One of the causes is the mother's lack of knowledge regarding IUD contraceptive methods. Health counseling is a process that runs and blends with all aspects of Family Planning services and not just information that is provided and discussed on one occasion, namely at the time of service delivery. The purpose is to find out the influence of counseling about IUD on the knowledge of mothers at the Bantaeng Regency City Health Center. The method of using the research design used is the Cross-Sectional method. The research was conducted in November 2021 at the City Health Center. The population in this study were all acceptors of Family Planning. The sample in this study was acceptors who came to the Family Planning Poly of the City Health Center as many as 33 people using the Acchidental Sampling technique. The results showed that of the 33 respondents used as a sample, before being given health counseling, 10 people (30.3%) were well informed about IUD contraception and 23 people were less knowledgeable (69.7%). After being given well-informed counseling about IUD contraception as many as 27 people (81.8%) and those with less knowledge as many as 6 people (18.2%). Conclusion: counseling methods affect the mother's knowledge of IUD with p-value 0,002 <0,005. Suggestion: It is hoped that midwives who are in charge of the birth control poly section will further improve their performance and attention to acceptors who want to use contraception by actively providing counseling to acceptors so that it is hoped that the coverage of IUD KB acceptors can be achieved according to the target.  Keywords: Acceptor, Counseling Methods, IUD, Knowledge
