Abstract

This study examines the meaning of the hijab in religious behavior among the people of Tanjung Makmur Village, North Labuhanbatu Regency. The hijab is no longer seen solely as a religious obligation but has evolved into a symbol of religious identity, social status, and fashion, with varying interpretations among Muslim women in the village. Some wear it out of faith, while others follow social, cultural, or environmental pressures. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore the subjective experiences of informants regarding the hijab’s significance in their religious lives. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation with six informants, including Muslim women who wear the hijab and a local religious figure. The results revealed that the hijab represents obedience to Allah, self-identity, protection from negative views, and a form of da'wah. Influencing factors include family, religious education, personal awareness, and religious norms. The study concludes that wearing the hijab is closely linked to positive religious behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher-student interaction patterns on the motivation to learn Arabic among eighth-grade students at MTs Swasta Al-Falah Simpang Kanan, Rokan Hilir, Riau. The main issue addressed in this research is the low learning motivation of students, as indicated by their lack of enthusiasm in Arabic language classes. During the learning process, teachers tended to adopt a formal demeanor and maintain distance from students. This rigid interaction caused students to feel hesitant to participate actively in the learning activities. This research employs a mixed-method approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. The qualitative method was used to gain deeper insight through interviews, which revealed that students are diligent in learning Arabic. Meanwhile, the quantitative method was used to analyze data from a Likert scale questionnaire distributed to 30 students. The instrument was validated using Pearson's product-moment correlation and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha with the aid of SPSS. Data analysis included normality testing, linearity testing, and simple linear regression analysis. The findings show that the teacher-student interaction pattern has a significant effect on students’ motivation to learn, with a significance value of 0.000 and a regression coefficient of 0.913. This means that every increase in the quality of teacher-student interaction corresponds to a 0.913-point increase in learning motivation. Thus, it is proven that positive and effective interaction between teachers and students can significantly enhance students' motivation to learn Arabic.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of career guidance in enhancing pre-employment mental readiness among orphans at the Muhammadiyah Boys’ Orphanage, Medan Branch. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving caregivers, career mentors, and active foster participants in the program. The findings revealed that Islamic value–integrated career guidance significantly improved self-confidence, independence, and mental preparedness for work transition. Three key themes emerged: (1) implementation of Islamic character-based career programs, (2) enhancement of mental readiness and career orientation, and (3) mentoring strategies to overcome emotional and social challenges among orphans. These results highlight the importance of a holistic, spirituality-based approach in expanding both theoretical understanding and practical applications of Islamic career counseling within faith-based social institutions

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the types of Arabic speaking errors made by 11th-grade students at MAN Simalungun and identify the underlying factors. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with methods of observation, interviews, and written tests. The research results show that students' speaking errors are divided into three main categories: phonology, morphology, and syntax. Phonological errors include the pronunciation of letters with specific articulation and the incorrect use of thick-thin sounds. Morphological errors occur in the use of singular, dual, and plural forms, as well as gender agreement in adjectives. Syntactic errors include the arrangement of nominal sentences, the use of prepositions, and the incorrect use of adjectives. The main factors influencing these errors are mother tongue interference, teaching methods, and lack of intensive practice. This study recommends the development of teaching methods based on phonetic and grammatical practice to effectively improve students' speaking skills.

The primary data is in the form of Arabic texts taken from the book Nurul Yaqin written by Sheikh Muhammad Al Khudari Bek. Then the author takes researched from the subtitles in the book, namely, the cleavage of the breast of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The focus of this research is to find out what translation errors are focused on the linguistic level, such as morphology, syntax, and semantics. By using error analysis (error analysis) with procedures, 1) collecting error samples, 2) identifying errors, 3) explaining errors, 4) classifying errors, and 5) evaluating errors. The results of the study show that in terms of the accuracy of vocabulary and terms, google translate has good translation quality. In terms of clarity and reasonableness, it means that Google Translate has not been able to convey ideas from the source language into the target language. Furthermore, grammatically, the results from Google Translate translation do not have grammar, then the results from Google Translate translation do not have a good grammatical structure and follow the rules that apply in the target Indonesian language. From these data, it can be seen that Google Translate should not be used as a basis for translating Arabic texts into Indonesian. A novice translator should prefer a dictionary instead of using Google Translate to try and improve their translation skills. So far, Arabic is still a difficulty for Indonesians, especially for students, and this difficulty is a linguistic problem that includes phonology, syntax, morphology, and semantics.

Abstract

Classical Islamic education is an educational concept that is deeply rooted in the history of the development of education in the Islamic world, emerging during the golden age of Islamic civilisation with the development of madrasahs and Islamic universities. This educational methodology is based on Islamic religious principles and the teaching of the Quran, using traditional approaches in the learning process. In this challenging modern era, understanding the relevance of classical Islamic education methodology is very important. During the Abbasid Dynasty, teaching methods were categorised into three types: oral, memorised, and written. Oral methods included dictation (direct writing from the teacher), lecture, qira'ah (reading), and discussion. The imla' (writing) method was used at various levels of classical Islamic education. During the time of the Prophet, the methods used included the al-asma' method or lectures. The values of classical Islamic education emphasise the awareness of the individual as a servant of God and a member of society with social responsibilities as well as the ability to manage and utilise God's natural creation. The relevance of classical Islamic methodology to the demands of modern times is increasingly important. The relevance of classical Islamic methodology to the demands of modern times is becoming increasingly important. With the digital revolution and the wide penetration of information technology, Islamic education must be able to utilise these technological tools to increase the effectiveness and accessibility of learning.
