Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of somatization, resilience and happiness, to find out there is a significant relationship between resilience and happiness with somatization, and to find out there is a significant effect between resilience and happiness with somatization in finalyear students at the Islamic University "45" Bekasi. This research is a correlational quantitative research. The research subjects are final year students at the Islamic University "45" Bekasi. The number of samples is 88 people. Sampling is done by means of stratified random sampling Data collection methods in this study were interviews and psychological measurement scales. The research instrument used was the resilience scale (CD-RISC), the Happiness scale, and the somatization scale using the Likert model and the Adult Somatization Inventory (ASI). The data was obtained using a Likert scaleand processed using SPSS version 21.0. The reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha resulted inan r Alpha value = 0.949 for resilience, an r Alpha value = 0.838 for happiness, an r Alpha value = 0.963 for somatization. Data analysis using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression methods. The results of the analysis show that there is a negative relationship between resilience and somatization, the correlation coefficient value is -0.226 with a p-value of 0.034 (p<0.05). The results of the analysis for the second correlation are thatthere is a negative relationship between happiness and somatization, the correlation coefficientvalue is -0.230 with a p-value of 0.031 (p<0.05). These results indicate that the research hypothesis is accepted. The results of the multiple regression test between resilience (β1 = - 0.240, = 0.049 <0.05) and happiness (β2 = -0.545, = 0.028 <0.05) on somatization from the study showed that resilience had a negative and significant effect on somatization and happiness have a negative and significant influence on somatization. That is, 9.7% of resilience and happiness are influenced by these factors. While 90.3% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

Geriatric individuals frequently suffer from insomnia, a sleep problem that significantly affects their general health and wellbeing. The purpose of this study is to examine the association between older adults' age, gender, and likelihood of suffering insomnia. Validated questionnaires were distributed at the Taliwang Health Center's Geriatric Clinic as part of a cross-sectional study. The findings indicate a significant relationship between aging and sleeplessness., with individuals aged ≥ 60 years being 5.342 times more likely to experience sleep disturbance than younger individuals (p = 0.0001). Gender also plays a significant role, with older men being 1.126 times more likely to suffer from insomnia than older women (p = 0.0001).

Abstract

Depression is a common mental health disorder in the elderly, often coexisting with chronic conditions like hypertension. This study examines the relationship between depression and hypertension stage 2 among elderly individuals at Puskesmas Karang Taliwang, considering age and gender. A cross-sectional study of 30 elderly patients used a validated questionnaire to assess depressive symptoms. Results showed a significant association between age (≥60 years) and depression, while gender had no statistical correlation. Hypertension stage 2 was also significantly linked to depression, though with a small effect size. These findings highlight the need for integrated healthcare strategies addressing both mental and cardiovascular health in the elderly. Further research is needed to explore underlying mechanisms and potential interventions.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period characterized by physical, mental, and social changes that often encourage risk taking behaviors, including sexual activity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), adolescents are individuals aged 10–19 years. In Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), the prevalence of early marriage reaches 58.1%, which is higher than the national average of 34.0%, and there is a growing trend of premarital sexual activity. These behaviors can lead to unintended pregnancies, abortions, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and psychosocial problems. This study aims to describe the phenomenon of risky sexual behavior among adolescents in NTB, identify the contributing factors, and discuss its impacts and possible preventive strategies. This research employed a literature review method by collecting, reviewing, and synthesizing scientific articles and relevant reports. The findings indicate that risky sexual behavior is influenced by parenting style, peer pressure, pornography exposure, personality traits, and limited knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, resulting in early marriage, unintended pregnancies, abortions, and an increased risk of STIs and HIV/AIDS. In conclusion, risky sexual behavior among adolescents in NTB remains a significant public health concern. Strengthening comprehensive sexual education, enhancing parental communication, and expanding access to youth friendly reproductive health services are recommended to reduce its prevalence and negative impacts.
