Abstract

This study discusses the harmony of Hindu-Muslim’s local traditions in Jembrana, western Bali. This anthropology study employs Bruner's dominant cultural theory approach to see the practice of harmony in local communities. This study focuses on several local Hindu-Muslim traditions in Jembrana, which reflect harmony among religious communities, namely the tradition of ngejot, makepung, male, and rebana (tambourine). The ethnographic study confirms the importance of respect for the dominant culture carried out by the Muslim minority when implementing their religious traditions. Although the tradition of male and rebana, for instance, are Islamic traditions, Balinese Muslims adapted to Balinese customs as the dominant culture. They understood their positions to maintain and respect the dominant Balinese culture performed by the majority of Hindus in Jembrana. Balinese Hindus tried to show an excellent response to the Muslims by involving them in the local Balinese tradition even with the adaptation of their rituals. It is a wealth of local tradition that shows religious harmony portrait in Indonesia.

Abstract

One of the impacts of the development of science and technology is that it occurs in the development of various languages. This also happened to various terminology in Arabic. This study aims to find the significance of naht in the formation of various modern Arabic terminologies. This research is a qualitative research in the form of literature review. The data source of this research is various literatures on the study of naht in the formation of various terminologies in contemporary Arabic. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive analysis method. This study concludes that naht is a method of decapitation and summation of two or more words into one term (words). The existence of the naht pattern can provide great urgency related to the adaptation of Arabic in the development of language in the current modern global era, which can give birth to various new Arabic terminology.

Abstract

This paper argues that culture is a part of religion in the sense that the latter (religion) authentically aims to help bless people as well to perpetuate peace among them. This article uses the term “culture” to refer to this perpetuated value. This action is in tandem with pluralism education; that is, an education that directs its students to free themselves up from any type of prejudice, and to be capable of not only learning knowledge in their classes, but also other cultures and perspectives available in the multicultural societies. Therefore, this pluralism education expects the students to qualify themselves with empathy, tolerance and solidarity to diverse groups of people in this world. Such a tremendous pluralism education occurs in Bali, Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to find the values ​​of social educational contained in the Qur'an. This research is a qualitative research in the form of library research. The focus of the verse is the object and source of primary data of this study, namely various commentaries that explain Surah at-Taubah verses 71-72. While secondary data sources of research is various literatut that are relevant to the subject matter of discussion. To answer the discussion of the research, the writer uses the method of interpretation maudhu'i (thematic). This study concludes that the values ​​of humanistic social education contained in the letter at-Taubah verses 71-72 include attitudes of helping to help, an invitation to the good and preventing munkar, social solidarity, brotherhood. These values ​​can be a spirit of social education in forming empathy, mutual care, protection, tolerance and high social solidarity. The four values ​​of social education can be actualized in the context of the planting of social education in children through various things, among others, the cultivation of a noble mentality in children can be realized in the planting of brotherly values ​​and help children. Furthermore, the cultivation of a spirit of attention to the rights of others and a commitment to social ethics can be realized through the inculcation of the value of social solidarity. Then, inculcation of critical and social supervision can be realized by instilling the value of amar makruf nahi munkar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using a Talking Stick model on learning outcomes of Fiqh. The research method used was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study was all students at the Fourth Grade of Islamic Primary School of Jamiatul Khair Ciledug-Tangerang, Sampling was drawn by using a saturated sampling technique in which all populations were used as samples consist of the control class and the experimental class. The instrument of this was a multiple-choice test that has four options. Moreover, the data analysis technique utilized the t-test. The results of the study showed that the mean score of the posttest for the control class was 69.8. Meanwhile, the mean score of the posttest for the experimental class was 77.76 with the standard deviations were 8.55 and 10.02 respectively. Furthermore, the result of the t-test showed that t-count (3,021)> t-table (2,011). This means that the t-count is bigger than the t-table. In other words, we can conclude that there is a significant difference between students who have studied by using the Talking Stick model and students who used conventional techniques.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang strategi dakwah di Jembrana-Bali melalui sarana ‘urf yaitu pada tradisi male. Tulisan berfokus menelusuri dampak dari strategi ‘urf atau kearifan lokal terhadap proses interaksi dan integrasi yang mengarah pada praktik damai pada masyarakat Hindu dan Muslim di Jembrana-Bali. Sumber data diperoleh adalah melalui observasi dan wawancara tak terstruktur selama bulan Maret sampai Juni 2019. Tulisan ini berupa penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Hasil dari tulisan ini memperlihatkan bahwa dakwah Islam melalui ‘urf yang mewujud dalam tradisi male dapat menumbuh-kembangkan pemahaman kebhinekaan, menumbuhkan ketertarikan umat Hindu kepada Islam, serta dapat membentuk karakter masyarakat Hindu dan Muslim di Jembrana menjadi humanis, toleran, dan inklusif, sehingga mengarah pada proses asosiasi, integrasi, komplementasi dan sublimasi. Kata Kunci: ‘Urf, Dakwah, Male, Asosiasi, Integrasi, Komplementasi, Sublimasi. Abtract This paper discusses the da'wah strategy in Jembrana-Bali through the means of f urf, namely in the male tradition. Writing focuses on exploring the impact of the ‘urf strategy or local wisdom on the process of interaction and integration which leads to peaceful practices of Hindu and Muslim communities in Jembrana-Bali. The source of the data obtained is through unstructured observations and interviews from March through June 2019. This paper is in the form of field research using a case study method. The results of this paper show that Islamic preaching through the 'urf' which manifests in the male tradition can foster diversity understanding, foster Hindu interest in Islam, and can shape the character of Hindu and Muslim communities in Jembrana to be humanist, tolerant and inclusive, thus leading in the process of association, integration, complementation and sublimation. Abstract

This study discusses the harmony of Hindus and Muslims in Jembrana Bali from the point of view of social learning by integrating religion and culture in the daily social interactions between the two religions. All social learning in the two religious communities is based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy, means the three causes of welfare. In the culture of paras-paros sarpanaya salunglung sabayantaka, agawe likes ning len, awak mesedare, are cultures that shows Hindu and Muslim harmony. Through a social learning approach, this study emphasizes the importance of selective observation and seeing the behavior of others. The essence of social learning theory is modeling and this modeling is one of the most important steps in integrated learning because most humans learn through selective observation and remembering the behavior of others. Even though some cultures come from certain religions, observation and modeling is able to encourage harmony between religious communities in Jembrana so that they become role models for the next generation. Here the Hindu and Muslim communities understood their position to protect and respect their respective religions and cultures, even to a certain degree, it is indicated by adjustments to traditions, such as potong gigi, ziarah, selametan, using udeng and kamben. A social learning model that shows a portrait of harmony between religious communities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena melihat begitu pentingnya pendidikan sosial bagi kehidupan. Pendidikan sosial merupakan hal yang paling utama bagi terbangunnya kesetiakawanan, egaliter (kesamaan derajat), tenggang rasa, toleransi (tasamuh), saling menghormati, kebersamaan, kedamaian, dan persaudaraan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pendidikan sosial yang terdapat dalam Surat At-Taubah Ayat 71-72. Dalam menjawab permasalahan tersebut, penyusun menggunakan metode Maudhu’i, merupakan metode tafsir dengan jalan menghimpun seluruh atau sebagian ayat-ayat dari beberapa surah yang berbicara topik tertentu, untuk kemudian dikaitkan satu dengan yang lainnya, sehingga pada akhirnya diambil kesimpulan menyeluruh tentang masalah tersebut menurut pandangan Al-Qur’an. Penelitian ini tergolong Library Research (penelitian kepustakaan) dengan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan cara mengumpulkan data atau bahan-bahan yang berkaitan dengan tema pembahasan dan permasalahan yang dikaji dari sumber-sumber kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, nilai-nilai pendidikan sosial yang dapat digali dari nilai Pendidikan sosial yang terkandung dalam surat at-Taubah ayat 71-72 adalah sikap tolong menolong, mengajak kepada kebaikan dan mencegah kemungkaran, solidaritas sosial, persaudaraan. Relevansinya dalam pendidikan sosial adalah adanya usaha kemanusiaan untuk memilki sikap empati, saling menjaga, melindungi, sehingga memiliki rasa tenggang rasa dan kepedulian, toleransi dan solidaritas sosial yang tinggi. Inilah nilai pendidikan sosial yang terkandung dalam surat At-Taubah Ayat 71-72.

Abstract

This paper discusses the ethnopedagogy-based education model in Jembrana. The paper focuses on exploring the impact of ethnopedagogy-based education on the process of interaction and integration that leads to peaceful practices in Hindu and Muslim communities in Jembrana. Data sources are obtained through unstructured observation and interviews during 2017 to 2018. The writing uses the mosaic analogy theory proposed by Issac Baer Bekson (1891-1975) and peace education proposed by John Dewey (1859-1952). Writing shows that through an ethnopedagogy-based education process can shape the character of Hindus and Muslims in Jembrana to be humanistic, tolerant and inclusive. This paper also shows that to shape the character and character of Hindus and Muslims in Jembrana as well as to foster diversity understanding, is through a male tradition, thus the interaction of Hindu and Muslim communities in Jembrana leads to the process of association, integration, complementation and sublimation.

Abstract

This paper discusses one way to improve teacher competency through academic supervision as a form of implementation of TQM (Total Quality Management). Academic supervision is considered to be able to provide solutions in the improvement process, as well as improving the quality of teachers in an educational institution. This paper focuses on theoretical concepts, objectives, principles, planning, and techniques in the implementation and follow-up of academic supervision. Sources of data in this paper are obtained through collecting data and information through bibliographic aids or commonly referred to as reference books. This paper uses qualitative research methodologies with applied research. The results of this paper indicate that true academic supervision can improve teacher competence in an educational institution. Of course this is supported by careful planning, also the right techniques in its implementation. However, because this academic supervision is a form of implementing TQM, it refers to one of the characteristics of TQM that is continuous improvement, it is necessary to have a follow-up as a form of continual improvement over the implementation of academic supervision that has been carried out previously by the school principal or madrasa headmaster. Thus, the results to be achieved from this implementation are improvements, as well as increasing teacher competence in an educational institution.
