Abstract

Students interest in science learning must be increased by choosing appropriate learning methods so that they can increase students learning motivation and be able to increase students interest in learning. the practicum method that can increase students motivation to learn science. learning with the practicum method will be more meaningful if it is equipped with appropriate teaching materials, namely a practicum module. the practical module will be more functional if the problem taken comes from the students closest environment, namely using an ethnoscience approach and integrated with an approach that triggers students to solve the problem, namely STEM. so this study aims to produce a practical module that is integrated with STEM with the help of a valid and practical etnoscience approach. This type of research is research and development with the ADDIE (Analysis Design Development Implementation Evaluation) development model. The impelmentation and Evaluation stages were not carried out due to time and cost constrains. The research was conducted using an instrument consisting of teacher interview sheets, validity test questionnaires and practicality tests. The research results are processed using the conventional formula in the form of percentages and grouped according to certain categories. The results of the research conducted are the results oh the validity test of the practicum module by the validator of 86% with a very valid category. The two results of the practicality test by the teacher are 99% in the very pratical category and the results of the practicality test by students are 88%. Then the data obtained shows that the development of science practicum module integrated STEM on energy topics using ethnoscience approachis valid and practical.

Abstract

The background of this research is the lack of application of learning models that are appropriate to the learning material in class VIII SMP N 5 Padang, so that the lack of creativity of students when learning results in a decrease in students' cognitive abilities. So it is necessary to apply a learning model that can hone students' cognitive abilities such as the Project Based Learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the cognitive abilities of Grade VIII students of SMP/MTs in the material on the digestive system in humans. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a non- equivalent post test only control group design. The samples used in this study were class VIII 1 and VIII 3 of 60 students. data collection is done by giving posttest questions. The results of the analysis showed that the average presentation of the cognitive abilities of the experimental class students was 73.6 and the average presentation of the control class was 56.1. Based on the t test obtained Tcount = 3.51 and ttable = 1.67 with a significance level of 0.025. So from the results of these calculations tcount is greater than ttable (tcount 3.51 > 1.67 ttable) so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the cognitive abilities of Grade VIII students of SMP/MTs on the subject of the digestive system in humans.

Abstract

Ideally, science does not only focus on cognitive aspects, but includes attitudes and skills. The implementation of practicum activities aims to improve student skills, cannot be separated from the avalilability of teaching materials that used as a guide in practicum activities. This study purpose to produce a valid and practice science practicum module STEM integratedly on light topics with realistic approach. This research is urgent because produce teaching material that helps teacher and student to assist the practicum activities and can help student to understand the concepts through realistic approach. This is Research and Development (R&D) with three stages of the ADDIE model, namely Analysis; Design; and Development. The result shows the science practicum module STEM integratedly on light topics with realistic approach was valid and practice. Valid and practice means that the teaching material are feasible and easy for use in the learning process. Based on the results, it can be concluded that scince practicum module STEM integratedly on light topics with realistic approach can be used as teaching material that supports practicum activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan kognitif peserta didik dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PjBL – STEM pada materi getaran gelombang dan cahaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena lingkungan belajar peserta didik tidak menarik dan mereka tidak menerima pengalaman belajar yang mereka butuhkan sehingga kemampuan kognitif peserta didik masih rendah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.5 yang berjumlah 28 siswa pada semester genap tahun akademik 2024/2024. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu berupa tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif pada C1–C4 yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan model pembelajaran project based learning terintegrasi STEM. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai pretest rata-rata siswa sebesar 32,69 dan posttest rata-rata siswa sebesar 64,03. Selain itu model pembelajaran PjBL-STEM berdampak pada kemampuan kognitif peserta didik, dengan persentase rerata kemampuan kognitif peserta didik sebesar C1 sebesar 34%, C2 sebesar 45%, C3 sebesar 61%, C4 sebesar 50 %. Kognitif peserta didik C1-C4 masih rendah. Implikasi dari temuan ini adalah pentingnya guru untuk lebih fokus pada penguatan pemahaman konsep dasar di awal pembelajaran, selain melibatkan siswa dalam proyek yang aplikatif. Selain itu, penting juga bagi sekolah untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih menarik dan mendukung pembelajaran aktif agar siswa dapat memperoleh pengalaman belajar yang lebih optimal. Dengan demikian, penerapan model PjBL-STEM bisa lebih maksimal dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan kemampuan kognitif peserta didik.

Abstract

One of the technological innovations that can be used is WEB 3D-based learning media, which combines visual elements and text in a more real way. The following research intends to develop a WEB-Based 3D Learning Media equipped with a QR Code as a support for Solar System materials for grade VII junior high school students. This media is designed to be valid, practical, and effective in improving student understanding. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D development model approach, which includes four main stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research instruments include validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and effectiveness questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using the Likert scale and the Guttman scale to assess the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed learning media. The results of the 3D media validity test obtained a very valid category with an average score of 85%. The results of the practical test on the use of 3D media from teachers and students are in the very practical category with a teacher response questionnaire score of 93% and student responses of 94%. The effectiveness of the use of 3D media on students' learning interests is very effective with a student response questionnaire score of 91%. Thus, the following research has produced a WEB-based 3D science learning media on Solar System material for grade VII junior high school that is valid, practical, effective and ready to be disseminated.

Abstract

Tujuan dari riset ini sebagai upaya untuk menunjukkan bagaimana dampak PBL berbantuan liveworksheets terhadap kemampuan problem solving pada materi gerak dan gaya di kelas VII SMP. Riset ini menerapkan jenis riset quasi-eksperimen, dan riset ini terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu eksperimen (model PBL berbantuan liveworksheets) dan kontrol (model PBL) dengan total 60 peserta didik yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis dengan memakai uji-t, nilai thitung adalah 12.5 dan ttabel adalah 2.00. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, diperoleh fakta jika implementasi model PBL yang dibantu liveworksheets memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan problem solving. pengaruh yang jauh lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model PBL saja terhadap kemampuan tersebut pada materi gerak dan gaya.

Abstract

One of the efforts made to overcome the problems contained in practicum activities in schools is to design and develop a science practicum module integrated STEM using ethnoscience approach. The STEM integrated practicum module is able to train student skills because students can experience the learning process directly. The use of the ethnoscience approach in the practicum module can introduce facts and phenomena that can be explained scientifically. In general, the aim of this research is to produce an science practicum module integrated STEM using ethnoscience approach that valid and practical to use. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The research method used in the 3 stages of a the ADDIE, namely analysis, design, and development. The research instrument consisted of a validity and practicality test questionnaire. The results of the development stage indicate that the practicum module is valid with the validity test value given by the expert validator of 0,82. Practicum module in practical category with a questionnaire value of 0,89 teacher responses and 0,85 students responses. The results showed that science practicum module integrated STEM using ethnoscience approach can be used with valid and practical categories.

Abstract

Cognitive ability is one of the essential aspects emphasized in the Merdeka Curriculum. One of the ways to enhance students’ cognitive ability is by applying the Project Based Learning-STEM (PjBL-STEM) model. This research was motivated by observations conducted on Grade VIII students at SMPN 21 Padang during the 2024/2025 academic year. The observations revealed that although the teacher implemented the PjBL-STEM model, its application was not fully optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the PjBL-STEM learning model on students’ cognitive ability on the topic of vibration and wave. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a posttest control group design. Purposive sampling was used to select the samples. Grade VIII students taught using the PjBL-STEM model served as the experimental group, while another Grade VIII class taught using conventional discovery learning served as the control group. The research instrument was an objective written test. The collected data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The t-test results showed a t-count of 10.283 and a t-table value of 2.036, where tcount ≥ ttable. Therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, indicating a significant effect of the PjBL-STEM model on students’ cognitive ability in junior high school.

Abstract

The aim to this research is determine the effectiveness of the STEM-integrated science practicum module with an ethnoscience approach to material in living systems on students' cognitive abilities. The type of research used in this research is Quasi Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of class 7th grade. Sampling was taken using purposive sampling technique.,The results show that the posttest score was higher than the pretest and the results of the N-Gain calculation show that the experimental class was in the high criteria with 0.81, while in the control class it was in the medium criteria with 0.69. It can be concluded that the used of the STEM-integrated science practicum module with an ethnoscience approach is effective on the cognitive abilities of 7th grade students on energy in living systems topic.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah dengan menggunakan model PBL. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi sistem pencernaan dan sistem peredaran darah manusia di SMPN 10 Padang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang diambil melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh dari hasil pemberian soal pretest-posttest, kemudian dianalisis melalui uji statistik deskriptif dan inferensial dengan menggunakan Microsoft Excel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada uji hipotesis menunjukkan uji perbedaan rata-rata posttest thitung > ttabel yaitu 3,722 lebih besar dari 1,999 sehingga dapat dikatakan Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII di SMPN 10 Padang.
