Abstract

This research was motivated by the low student learning outcomes during the science learning process caused by the application of learning models that are not varied, causing students to be less enthusiastic and tending to be passive in learning. This study aimed the effect of Children Learning In Science (CLIS) learning model on science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Padang. The type of research used is quasi experiment with posttest only control group design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Based on the results of the student response questionnaire to the CLIS model, a percentage of 87% was obtained in the very good category. Based on the average of the experimental class of 73.5 and the control class of 66. Then, continued with the hypothesis test using the t-test, the tcount> ttable value is 3.85 > 2,00 with a sample of 32 students and α=0.05. The results of the hypothesis are H0 rejected and Ha accepted, meaning that there is a significant effect of the application of the Children Learning In Science (CLIS) learning model on the learning outcomes in class VII SMPN 13 Padang.

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemic, a condition characterized by excess cholesterol content, can lead to coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, and high-risk heart tissue degeneration. Current drugs, like simvastatin and pravastatin, focus on lowering cholesterol levels without addressing tissue degeneration. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of sidempuan salacca vinegar in improving cardiac tissue degeneration in hypercholesterolemic mice. The experimental research involved two groups, the treatment group given different doses of sidempuan salacca vinegar and the control group. Histopathological observations showed improvement in cardiac tissue degeneration in hypercholesterolemic mice after treatment with salacca vinegar. The administration of salacca vinegar could serve as a reference for developing alternative hypercholesterolemic drugs that address both cholesterol levels and heart degeneration.

Abstract

This research aims to ascertain the influence of the Problem Based Learning model on students’ learning outcomes of the 7th grader about the matter and its changes topic. This quasi-experimental research is to determine if a specific treatment has an effect on the group being studied. For this investigation, an uneven control group design will be employed. One sample strategy utilized in sampling techniques is purposive sampling. The Problem Based Learning model was employed in the experiment group, while the lecture approach was used in the control group. Based on the T-test hypothesis testing, it was demonstrated that there was a significant difference in average between the experimental class and the control class with Tcount = -24.0946 and Ttable = 2.0017, the results of the second similarity test in average post-test indicated that H0 was rejected or Ha was accepted. As a result, the Problem Based Learning Model significantly affects the students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi proses terhadap hasil belajar IPA peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 6 Bukittinggi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan rancangan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas satu kelas eksperimen yang memperoleh perlakuan dengan PBL berdiferensiasi proses dan satu kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan, serta angket respon peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen mencapai 72,68, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya 62,49. Uji-t mengonfirmasi adanya pengaruh signifikan penerapan model tersebut. Selain itu, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran mencapai 97,42% dengan kategori sangat baik, dan respon peserta didik menunjukkan kecenderungan positif. Dengan demikian, penerapan PBL berdiferensiasi proses dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar sekaligus memotivasi peserta didik untuk lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing berbasis Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) terhadap hasil belajar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experiment dengan rancangan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Desain ini melibatkan dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan berupa penerapan model Inkuiri Terbimbing berbasis Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian diawali dengan pemberian pretest pada kedua kelompok untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal peserta didik, dilanjutkan dengan perlakuan sesuai model pembelajaran pada masing-masing kelas, dan diakhiri dengan posttest guna mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar yang dilengkapi dengan lembar observasi dan angket respon peserta didik, sehingga data yang diperoleh mencakup aspek kognitif, dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen mencapai 76,03, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya 52,97. Uji-t mengonfirmasi adanya pengaruh signifikan penerapan model tersebut. Selain itu, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran mencapai 97,01% dengan kategori sangat baik, dan respon peserta didik menunjukkan kecenderungan positif. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Inkuiri Terbimbing berbasis SSI berpengaruh positif dan signifikan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA serta mendapatkan respon yang sangat baik dari peserta didik.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the most essential skills to be developed in 21st-century education. However, many classroom activities still rely on conventional methods that fail to actively engage students. This study aimed to investigate the effect of integrating the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) on junior high school students’ critical thinking skills in the topics of ecology and biodiversity. A quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was employed. The research subjects consisted of two eighth-grade classes at SMP Negeri 35 Padang: one class implemented the PBL-SSI model as the experimental group, while the other used conventional learning as the control group. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests and analyzed using the t-test. The results showed that before the intervention, students in both groups had comparable levels of critical thinking skills. However, after the intervention, the experimental group demonstrated a significant improvement (tcount = 7.234 > ttable = 2.005). Improvements were evident across six indicators of critical thinking, including information analysis, drawing conclusions, and evaluation. These findings indicate that the PBL-SSI model effectively enhances students’ critical thinking skills through meaningful, contextual, and applicable learning experiences. By incorporating real-life issues, this model encourages active student participation in discussion, problem-solving, and decision-making, thereby making the learning process more engaging and meaningful.

Abstract

Pendidikan berperan penting dalam membentuk sumber daya manusia yang unggul dan berdaya saing di era global. Salah satu tantangan dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP adalah masih terbatasnya bahan ajar interaktif, khususnya pada materi Listrik Dinamis. Dalam menghadapi tuntutan pembelajaran abad ke-21 dan perkembangan teknologi digital, diperlukan inovasi bahan ajar yang menarik & kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas, praktikalitas, dan efektivitas e-modul interaktif berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Listrik Dinamis dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP/MTs. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas ahli materi, ahli media, serta peserta didik kelas IX SMPN 2 Koto Baru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul interaktif berbasis PBL memiliki rata-rata validitas sebesar 0,89 (kategori sangat tinggi), praktikalitas sebesar 0,90 (kategori sangat tinggi), dan efektivitas dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,49 (kategori sedang). Dengan demikian, e-modul interaktif berbasis PBL dinyatakan sangat valid, sangat praktis, dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA. Produk ini mampu mendukung pembelajaran yang interaktif, kontekstual, serta berpotensi meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Low student communication skills have been the cause of this research, which had an impact on learning outcomes because there had not been training on students' communication skills through the application of appropriate learning models. The learning process, which still uses conventional learning models, namely group discussions, has not made each student active and responsible for group assignments and has not trained communication skills in scientific arguments. Therefore, an appropriate learning model is needed, one of which is the Numbered Head Together (NHT) type cooperative learning model. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of implementing the NHT type cooperative learning model on the communication skills of SMPN 3 Tebo students. The research uses a Quasi-Experimental type of research with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research began with a pretest in the experimental class and control class, then treatment was given to the experimental class, and at the end of the learning process, a posttest was given to both classes. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique. The test instrument consists of 13 description questions. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel to carry out prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests on overall communication skills and each ability indicator. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in students' overall communication skills between before and after treatment. Through the Mann Whitney test with Zcount -5.32 and Ztabel 1.96 with the criterion that H0 is accepted if “Ztabel ≤ Zcount ≤ Ztabel, then Zcount -5.32 < -Ztabel -1.96, then H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence of implementing the Numbered Head Together type learning model on the communication skills of students at SMP Negeri 3 Tebo Regency.
