This study analyses the viral impact of Bowo, a teenage celebrity from TikTok (a socialmedia site) as well as comments from netizens who happened to be Bowo?s fans orhaters. In addition, the study used theories of cultural studies from Derrida, Adorno andHorkheimer to analyze the entertainment industry as well as netizens, both fans andhaters of Bowo. The role and judgments of fans and haters of Bowo will be shown to seethe paradoxes and parallel of this phenomenon. Thus, the study applied a descriptivequalitative method to analyze data. The results indicate that although netizens know thatwhat they see in TikTok may be fabricated, some netizens still felt deceived by Bowo?sappearances in TikTok. Those feelings were shown in their comments in social media. Inaddition to feeling deceived, the results show how female teenagers who engaged inonline discussions regarding Bowo seemed torn into adoring and abhorring Bowo.

Abstract

Background: Disease patterns originally dominated by infectious diseases and infections now change to those of degenerative disease, such as dyslipidemia, one of the risk factors forcoronary heart disease. In addition, excessive and unhealthy diet  gives  an effect on the lipidprofile. Fruits containing soluble fiber (pectin) and high vitamin C such as guavacan be use material for hypercolesterol amicin tervention. On the other hand,mild-moderate exercisealso hasa clear influenceon thedecrease of blood lipid profile. Objective: The aim of this research is to know the influence of guava (Psidium guajava) and sportson the lipid profileindyslipidemia in Kendari.Method: Type of of the research was quasi experimental design. Intervention group were given guava juice and exercise and exercise was only given in control groups. Subjects consume guava juice at a dose of 400 mg once daily with a volume of 250 ml each administration, performed for 30 days. Before interventions, blood samples for lipid profile have analyzed. The number of subjects for each group is 33 people (1:1). The data taken in the study are observations of the amountof blood lipid levels(mg/dl) such as high-densitylipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) using a standard method. Then, data were analyzed by using tests ofi Chi Square correlation and Wilcoxon Matched-pairs Signed-rank Test. Results: After 4 weeks oftreatment, the intervention significantly increased the levels of LDL 1 times higher (p<0.05) in the intervention group than that in the control group. The decrease of HDL in the intervention group was higher  than that  in the control group but it is not significantly different. In triglycerides and total cholesterol, the level decreased significantly higher in the intervention group compared to that of the control group (p <0.05)Conclusion: The guava juice is proven to be able to decrease LDL, triglycerides, total cholesterol, and LDL andincrease HDL levels.

Abstract

Background: Malnutrition is a public health problem, especially in developing countries. Malnutrition of children can affect brain development during growth and increase morbidity and mortality. Low birth weight (LBW) plays an important role in child morbidity and mortality. The prevalence of malnutrition in children under five years old and LBW in Indonesia are still high. Objective: This study aimed to assess the risk of LBW on the incidence of malnutrition in children under five years old in coastal areas.Method: This was an observational analytic study with case control approach. The study was conducted on 64 respondents in the coastal area of Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi on November to December 2018. Case group (n=16) was children under five years old who experienced malnutrition in the working area of Abeli, Mata and Benu-Benua Health Center in October 2018. Control group (n=48) was taken by measuring body weight and then adjusted to the category and threshold of nutritional status based on the body weight index according to age. Sixteen respondents of case group were recruited using total sampling. Forty-eight respondents of control group were also recruited using purposive sampling with non-matching method according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Odd Ratio (OR) statistical test was used with a 2x2 contingency table and a 95% confidence level with a significance level of α = 0.05.Results: The majority of respondents were 25-48 months old, and maternal age was mostly 36-45 years old in the case group (37.5%) and 26-35 years old in the control group (50.0%). The majority of maternal education level was junior high school in the case group (43.7%) and high school in the control group (47.9%). The statistical test results were obtained OR = 5.923 (CI=95%) with Lower Limit (1.724) and Upper Limit (20.346).  Conclusion: Infants with LBW had a 5 times higher risk for experiencing malnutrition in childhood in coastal areas. Therefore, knowledge of LBW and malnutrition is needed to improve public health status.

Abstract

Adolescents face complex health problems, even though they have long been considered a healthy group. From several surveys it is known how big the problems faced by teenagers are, as can be seen from the following data: The 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI) shows that 17% of women currently aged 45-49 years were married at the age of 15. The aim of this service is to see the influence of gender, height, weight on blood pressure and blood sugar in adolescents. The population in this study were MAN I Muara Bungo students, and the research sample was MAN I Bungo students who took part in scout extracurricular activities and took part in end-of-year camp activities. The total sample was 50 people consisting of 2 supervisors and 48 MAN I Bungo students. The results showed that there was no relationship between gender and blood sugar, gender and blood pressure, height and blood sugar, body weight and blood sugar, and body weight and blood pressure (p=0.787; p=0.158; p=0.990 ; p=0.179; p=0.470). Another thing shows that there is a relationship between height and blood pressure (p=0.009).

Abstract

Kata kunci: Tetralogi Fallot, absent pulmonary valves, endokarditis infektif ABSTRACT Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) with absent pulmonary valve (PV) is a severe congenital heart disease found in only 3% to 6% of TOF patients. Survival into young adulthood, especially without repair, is quite rare. ToF accompanies complications that significantly impact a patient’s health, one such complication is infectious Endocarditis (IE). An alternative technique for the primary repair of TOF with absent pulmonary valve syndrome is surgical repair has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment. A 1-year-7-month-old male with a cough and fever since 2 weeks ago. History of recurrent respiratory tract infection. worsening cyanosis and exercise intolerance without shortness of breath with hemodynamic parameters are stable. We did thoracic x-ray with results of cardiomegaly with L to R shunt according to VSD, laboratory tests: leukocytosis and trans-thoracic echocardiography with VSD subaortic, Severe pulmonary regurgitation, severe pulmonary stenosis, pulmonary hypertension, and oscillating mass suggestive vegetation at RVOT. The patient recovered well following treatment with intravenous cephalosporin. The treatment is surgical and includes closure of the ventricular septal defect, relief of right ventricular outflow tract obstruction, and surgical reduction of the aneurysmal pulmonary arteries. Abstract

Pineapple hump has been identified to contain secondary metabolites in saponin, flavonoid, and steroid/triterpenoid which show potential as antibacterial agents against Staphylococcus epidermidis. These bacteria are part of the normal composition of gram-positive bacteria on human skin and do not display any pathogenic characteristics. Even so, these bacteria can trigger facial skin infections, especially in the form of pimples which are often difficult to treat. This study aimed to determine the differences in bacterial inhibition of cosmetic preparations in the form of conventional serum and nano serum from pineapple hump extract (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr) against bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis. This research uses the method of True Experimental. In this study, pineapple hump was extracted and formulated into conventional serum preparations and nano serum with various concentrations, then tested for its antibacterial activity against the bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis. Diameter of antibacterial inhibition of conventional Serum Pineapple hump Extract against bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis i.e., Blank has no inhibition, 2% concentration (10.10 mm), 10% concentration (11.28 mm) and 20% concentration (13.26 mm). The diameter of inhibition of Nano serum Pineapple Hump Extract, namely Blank, had no inhibition, 2% concentration (10.44 mm), 10% concentration (11.56 mm) and 20% concentration (15.14 mm). The positive control for Clindamycin had an inhibitory effect (32.8 mm), the positive control for the circulating Pineapple Hump Extract (15.52 mm) and the negative control had no inhibition.
