Abstract

Cat bodi mobil bisa terkelupas karena berbagai hal seperti gesekan seperti benda lain atau tabrakan. Cat yang terkelupas pada bagian tertentu biasanya akan di cat ulang setelah mengembalikan bentuk bodi pada kondisi semula. Pengecatan bodi mobil dengan luas yang relatif kecil dilakukan menggunakan oven portabel. Pada penelitian ini akan ditampilkan rancang bangun oven portabel untuk pengecatan bodi mobil dengan luas tertentu. Hal utama dari rancangan mesin ini adalah untuk megetahui besar temperatur dan lama pemanasan dalam oven supaya menghasilkan daya lekat cat yang baik. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dibuat secara sistematis dari studi literatur sampai dengan kesimpulan. Ada beberapa material yang digunakan diantaranya besi plat dengan ketebalan 1,5mm ,alumunium foil 1mm dan besi hollow galvanis. Hasil perancangan oven cat portabel ini diperoleh suhu yang optimal yaitu 65°C dengan lama pemanasan 180 menit dan emaksimalkan pekerjaan dari yang seharian penuh menjadi 3 jam untuk sekali repair bodi kendaraan. Alat ini diharapkan dapat dikembangkan lagi menjadi mesin yang lebih sempurna, sehingga dipergunakan oleh kalangan yang terkait untuk pengecatan bodi mobil.

Abstract

The objective of this training is to enhance the proficiency of high school/vocational high school teachers in the creation of technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor, a software that is utilized for 3D modeling, structural strength simulation, motion animation, and other engineering analyses. The Faculty of Engineering, Darma Persada University conducted this training on February, both online and offline. The training method encompasses theory, direct practice, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the training demonstrated a decrease in the teachers' comprehension of the fundamental concepts and the application of Autodesk Inventor in engineering education. The documentation and evaluation of this program can serve as a reference for the development of similar training in the future.

Abstract

The increasing demand for fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability has led to the exploration of alternative fuel blends and innovative fuel-saving technologies. This study investigates the effect of an electromagnetic fuel-saving device on the performance of a motorcycle using a Pertalite-Bioethanol fuel blend at different compositions (P100, P90, P80, and P70). The engine's performance was evaluated based on Maximum Torque, Brake Horse Power (BHP), and Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC) using a chassis dynamometer test. The results show that the use of the electromagnetic fuel-saving device significantly improves motorcycle performance. The highest torque was recorded at P80, reaching 13.52 Nm with the device, compared to 12.7 Nm without the device. Similarly, BHP at P80 increased from 7.45 HP (without device) to 9.89 HP (with device), indicating enhanced combustion efficiency. Additionally, SFC was lower when using the device, with the lowest fuel consumption observed at P80 (0.025 kg/HP·h with the device), compared to 0.029 kg/HP·h without it. These findings suggest that a 20% bioethanol blend (P80) provides an optimal balance of power, torque, and fuel efficiency, particularly when combined with electromagnetic fuel treatment. However, at higher bioethanol concentrations (P70), performance slightly declined, likely due to the lower energy content of ethanol compared to gasoline. The improvement in efficiency with the electromagnetic device is attributed to the enhanced dispersion of hydrocarbon molecules, leading to better combustion. The electromagnetic fuel-saving device effectively enhances engine performance and fuel efficiency, particularly when paired with a 20% bioethanol blend. This study provides valuable insights into the potential of alternative fuel treatments in improving combustion efficiency and sustainability. Future research could focus on long-term durability, emissions analysis, and further optimization of bioethanol fuel blends for improved engine performance.Keywords: Electromagnetic fuel-saving device, Pertalite-Bioethanol blend, Motorcycle performance, Fuel efficiency.

Abstract

A vehicle is said to be good if it can provide a sense of security and comfort for the driver. All types of two-wheeled, four-wheeled and heavy vehicles are equipped with a brake system that functions to reduce and stop the speed of the vehicle or allow the vehicle to park in a downhill area. The purpose of this study was to analyze the brake system disturbances in four-wheeled vehicles with automatic transmission types, especially the causes of vibration in the brake system. In analyzing the brake system disturbance, several tools are needed to support the data collection process, including caliper, micrometer, and dial gauge. The causes of brake system disturbances on Honda Mobilio cars and the handling that must be done when a disturbance occurs in the Honda Mobilio brake system. From the results of the measurement of the run out of the disc rotor, the difference in variations reaches 0.059 mm so that the disc rotor must be lathe. After turning the disc rotor, the result of the run out measurement is 0.003 mm and the thickness obtained is 20.702 mm which is still within the tolerance limit for use

Abstract

Sistem pengereman merupakan salah satu safety aktif pada kendaraan. Jika ada kegagalan dalam sistem pengereman akan sangat berbahaya bagi pengemudi dan orang disekitarnya. Kegagalan sistem pengereman terjadi dikarenakan adanya udara dan uap air. Yang berada di saluran minyak rem, yang mengakibatkan tekanan minyak rem yang dihasilkan dari master rem berkurang. Maka dilakukannya perawatan dan perbaikan sistem rem secara berkala. Salah satu cara perawatan sistem rem adalah dengan melakukan bleeding atau membuang udara dari saluran rem dari lubang napel caliper rem. Metode bleeding rem salah satunya dengan manual bleeding rem dan ada juga yang digunakan oleh bengkel resmi menggunakan alat yang cukup besar dimensinya, tetapi kurang efisien dalam proses perawatan sistem rem hidrolik. Maka dari itu dirancanglah mesin bleeding rem yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dalam proses bleeding rem hidrolik. Mesin yang dirancang adalah mesin bleeding pneumatic yang menggunakan komponen tambahan pneumatic dan besi hollow sebagai rangkanya. Mesin bleeding yang dibuat menggunakan tekanan pressure sebesar 34 Psi sampai dengan 38 Psi. Dan menggunakan tekanan vacuum -3 Psi sampai dengan -5 Psi. Dengan waktu yang dibutuhkan dalam proses bleeding rem hidrolik lebih singkat. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat untuk pengembangan mesin bleeding rem hidrolik selanjutnya.

Abstract

Permasalahan ketersediaan bahan bakar fosil merupakan kajian yang perlu dilakukan secara kerkelanjutan. Sebagai bagian dari penanganan masalah tersebut maka dalam artikel ini membahas salah satu teknologi generator oxyhydrogen tipe drycell yang diimplementasikan pada kendaraan roda empat dengan mesin 1800 cc. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui kebermanfaatan produk tersebut dan dampak yang dihasilkan terkait tingkat konsumsi bahan bakar dan dampak emisi yang dikeluarkan. Generator Oxyhydrogen adalah alat generator yang didalamnya terdapat elektrolisis air untuk menghasilkan gas hydrogen dan oksigen yang disebut dengan HHO atau Oxyhydrogen. Gas Oxyhydrogen adalah gas yang ditambahkan pada pengapian di dalam ruang bakar. Generator Oxyhydrogen Model MINI 7920H tipe drycell merupakan generator yang dirakit pada kendaraan untuk dilakukan pengujian. Dari pengujian awal yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan produk ini berdampak positif terhadap tingkat kehematan konsumsi bahan bakar, dan tidak menimbulkan emisi gas buang yang melebihi ambang batas. Karena penelitian ini merupakan kajian awal maka perlu dilakukan pengujian berkelanjutan untuk mendapatkan tingkat teknologi yang lebih praktis sehingga lebih mudah untuk pemasangan dan keamanan yang terjamin. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat berdampak luas terhadap pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi maju untuk mendukung penghematan konsumsi bahan bakar.

Abstract

This article outlines a systematic training program aimed at introducing and improving participants' comprehension of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), a fundamental element in industrial automation systems. The training employed practical, hands-on workshops concentrating on fundamental PLC principles, hardware types, programming languages, and operational procedures. The participants were vocational school educators, students, and undergraduate engineering majors. The findings indicated substantial enhancements in the understanding and utilization of PLCs in automation activities, effectively connecting theoretical education with practical industry applications. The results further illustrate the efficacy of experiential learning in cultivating practical skills necessary for meeting the requirements of Industry 4.0 settings.

Abstract

The piano manufacturing industry comprises multiple stages to achieve a high-quality product, one of which is the surface finishing of the cabinet after sealer coating. In many woodworking industries, this finishing process is still performed manually using scotch-brite, which requires significant labor and extended processing time. To enhance efficiency, the design and performance evaluation of a scotch-brite machine, manually operated by an operator, were conducted. The objective of this study is to assess the machine’s performance and compare its efficiency with conventional manual finishing. Experimental tests were carried out using ten board samples coated with basecoat or sealer. Each sample was subjected to ten sanding cycles at inverter frequency variations of 30 Hz, 35 Hz, 40 Hz, 45 Hz, and 50 Hz. The initial gloss level of the samples was 18 GU, while the finishing standard ranged between 10–14 GU. The optimal result was obtained at 50 Hz, producing an average gloss of 12.4 GU. The sanding process for ten samples required 223 seconds, equivalent to 3.7 minutes. The scotch-brite machine demonstrated higher efficiency, achieving an efficiency level of 53.5%, reducing processing time by approximately 4.2 minutes compared to the manual method, and lowering operator workload. These findings indicate that the machine can effectively support improved quality, consistency, and productivity in the piano manufacturing industry.
