Abstract

The demand for organic fertilizer is crucial for small-scale farming businesses, particularly when compared to chemical fertilizers, which are expensive and negatively affect long-term soil fertility. This study aims to determine the specific fuel consumption requirements for gasoline engines used in organic fertilizer processing machines based on the workload applied to the engine. The research compares the actual specific fuel consumption and fuel consumption times for three types of gasoline, RON 90, RON 92, and RON 98, under an engine operating load of 3 kg. The results show that for a 3 kg load, the specific fuel consumption is 10 milliliters for RON 90, 35 milliliters for RON 90, and 25 milliliters for RON 92. The time savings for operating under a 3 kg load are 2.91 minutes with RON 90, 1.99 minutes with RON 92, and the lowest time savings of 0.92 minutes with RON 98.

Abstract

The primary objective of this community service initiative is to provide training to high school and vocational school instructors in Jakarta on the use of AutoCAD Mechanical for engineering drawing. AutoCAD Mechanical offers sophisticated automation features and tools to enhance the accuracy and productivity of technical drawings. The training was conducted online, which enabled a wide range of participants to participate. The methodology comprised a pre-test to evaluate initial knowledge, interactive sessions to convey material, and a post-test to evaluate learning outcomes. The training was attended by a total of 33 participants. The findings suggest that the majority of participants developed a more comprehensive comprehension of the ethical implications and precision of AI-based tools. The discussion emphasizes the efficacy of online training in improving the understanding of AutoCAD Mechanical among instructors. For future enhancements and future reference, documentation was maintained, which encompassed participant engagement and training activities. This activity enhances the proficiency of educators in the utilization of digital tools for the purpose of mechanical engineering education.

Abstract

Sistem pengereman merupakan salah satu safety aktif pada kendaraan. Jika ada kegagalan dalam sistem pengereman akan sangat berbahaya bagi pengemudi dan orang disekitarnya. Kegagalan sistem pengereman terjadi dikarenakan adanya udara dan uap air. Yang berada di saluran minyak rem, yang mengakibatkan tekanan minyak rem yang dihasilkan dari master rem berkurang. Maka dilakukannya perawatan dan perbaikan sistem rem secara berkala. Salah satu cara perawatan sistem rem adalah dengan melakukan bleeding atau membuang udara dari saluran rem dari lubang napel caliper rem. Metode bleeding rem salah satunya dengan manual bleeding rem dan ada juga yang digunakan oleh bengkel resmi menggunakan alat yang cukup besar dimensinya, tetapi kurang efisien dalam proses perawatan sistem rem hidrolik. Maka dari itu dirancanglah mesin bleeding rem yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dalam proses bleeding rem hidrolik. Mesin yang dirancang adalah mesin bleeding pneumatic yang menggunakan komponen tambahan pneumatic dan besi hollow sebagai rangkanya. Mesin bleeding yang dibuat menggunakan tekanan pressure sebesar 34 Psi sampai dengan 38 Psi. Dan menggunakan tekanan vacuum -3 Psi sampai dengan -5 Psi. Dengan waktu yang dibutuhkan dalam proses bleeding rem hidrolik lebih singkat. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat untuk pengembangan mesin bleeding rem hidrolik selanjutnya.

Abstract

Permasalahan ketersediaan bahan bakar fosil merupakan kajian yang perlu dilakukan secara kerkelanjutan. Sebagai bagian dari penanganan masalah tersebut maka dalam artikel ini membahas salah satu teknologi generator oxyhydrogen tipe drycell yang diimplementasikan pada kendaraan roda empat dengan mesin 1800 cc. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui kebermanfaatan produk tersebut dan dampak yang dihasilkan terkait tingkat konsumsi bahan bakar dan dampak emisi yang dikeluarkan. Generator Oxyhydrogen adalah alat generator yang didalamnya terdapat elektrolisis air untuk menghasilkan gas hydrogen dan oksigen yang disebut dengan HHO atau Oxyhydrogen. Gas Oxyhydrogen adalah gas yang ditambahkan pada pengapian di dalam ruang bakar. Generator Oxyhydrogen Model MINI 7920H tipe drycell merupakan generator yang dirakit pada kendaraan untuk dilakukan pengujian. Dari pengujian awal yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan produk ini berdampak positif terhadap tingkat kehematan konsumsi bahan bakar, dan tidak menimbulkan emisi gas buang yang melebihi ambang batas. Karena penelitian ini merupakan kajian awal maka perlu dilakukan pengujian berkelanjutan untuk mendapatkan tingkat teknologi yang lebih praktis sehingga lebih mudah untuk pemasangan dan keamanan yang terjamin. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat berdampak luas terhadap pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi maju untuk mendukung penghematan konsumsi bahan bakar.

Abstract

Kebutuhan air bersih sangat di perlukan untuk minum namun apakah air yang kita minum bersih, masalah ini menjadi tugas kita untuk memahami air yang kita minum ketika dipompa dari tanah dan disimpan dalam tangki air apakah kebersihan tangki penyimpan aman dari virus dan bakteri, sehingga dalam penelitian ini menguji kinerja mesin pembersih tangki air berkapasitas 500 liter agar terhindar dari pencemaran. Pengujian kinerja pada mesin permbersih ini menggunakan motor penggerak ¼ Hp dengan kebutuhan daya poros penggerak 623,7 watt dengan putaran poros 1000 Rpm, sementara gaya gesek atau torsi yang di butuhkan pada poros pembersih 4.2 Nm pada putaran poros 1000 Rpm, sedangkan kecepatan waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk proses pembersih tangki yaitu 20 menit pada putaran poros 1000 Rpm.

Abstract

Pelatihan simulasi rangkaian listrik dan telekomunikasi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru Sekolah Lanjutan Tingkat Atas (SLTA) dalam mengajarkan materi terkait. Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat menjadikan pemahaman mengenai teknologi listrik dan telekomunikasi krusial untuk diketahui, khususnya bagi para pendidik yang mempersiapkan generasi penerus menghadapi masa depan. Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini memanfaatkan platform Zoom sebagai media daring dan diikuti oleh 52 guru SLTA di wilayah Jabodetabek. Pelatihan mencakup teori dasar, praktik simulasi, dan metode pengajaran inovatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta dapat memahami materi pelatihan dengan baik dengan rata-rata persentase ketercapaian hasil kegiatan sebesar 90%. Selain itu, pemahaman peserta tentang materi LabView mencapai 93% dan materi PLC mencapai 92%. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia, khususnya dalam bidang teknologi listrik dan telekomunikasi, serta sejalan dengan program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) dan Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) melalui peningkatan kompetensi pendidik dan penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

The Vaname Shrimp Cultivation Group of Sindanglaya Village, Cinangka District, Serang Regency - Banten which is currently in the form of a cooperative with the name of the Tunas Harapan Core Producer Cooperative. The urgency of this community-based empowerment activity is the need for an increase in technology, especially in the cultivation of vaname shrimp, the problems that occur in the community based on the results of studies and identification of vaname shrimp farmers are known to be the process of preparing shrimp feed. Where the process of mixing shrimp feed still uses manual methods or using hands so that it is not evenly distributed and takes a long time. The next problem in pond management in the process of checking the quality of water content still uses an uncalibrated pH meter. Problems in other areas related to production management and marketing, shrimp pond managers still use the usual method, not following technological developments. The implementation method follows five stages of community service, namely 1. Socialization, 2. Training, 3. Application of technology, 4. Mentoring and evaluation, 5. Sustainability of the program. The results of the activity showed an increase in technology related to the production process of vaname shrimp cultivation, namely the manufacture of a vaname shrimp feed mixer/mixer machine in Sindanglaya Village and the socialization of the use of vaname shrimp feed mixer/mixer machines for vaname shrimp farming groups in Sindanglaya Village, especially in the Tunas Harapan Core Producer Cooperative. Furthermore, improvements related to marketing management in the Community Empowerment (PKM) program were the implementation of a Workshop on the Development of Production Management and Marketing Management based on information technology and assistance in operating online marketing applications. The conclusion in the production sector was an increase in the number of vaname shrimp harvests and an increase in knowledge related to production and marketing management.

Abstract

This article outlines a systematic training program aimed at introducing and improving participants' comprehension of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), a fundamental element in industrial automation systems. The training employed practical, hands-on workshops concentrating on fundamental PLC principles, hardware types, programming languages, and operational procedures. The participants were vocational school educators, students, and undergraduate engineering majors. The findings indicated substantial enhancements in the understanding and utilization of PLCs in automation activities, effectively connecting theoretical education with practical industry applications. The results further illustrate the efficacy of experiential learning in cultivating practical skills necessary for meeting the requirements of Industry 4.0 settings.

Abstract

The availability of energy sources plays a vital role in supporting the efficiency of agricultural mechanisation, especially in the organic fertiliser processing process. This study evaluates and compares fertiliser processing machines' performance using two energy sources: a RON 90 fueled internal combustion engine and a 100 Wp solar power system. Testing was carried out at a fixed load of 3 kg with power and torque parameters observations. The results show that when using a 5.5 HP internal combustion engine, the increase in engine speed is directly proportional to the increase in power but inversely proportional to torque. The highest torque of 14.1 Nm is achieved at 1486 rpm with a power of 2.2 kW, while the highest power of 3.21 kW occurs at 2984 rpm with a torque decreasing to 10.2 Nm. On the other hand, the solar panel-based system showed an increase in power and torque as the intensity of sunlight increased, with the highest performance recorded at 1:00 PM at 91.8 watts and a torque of 0.30 Nm, which then decreased after 3:00 PM, indicating that the engine with a combustion engine has a more consistent performance. In contrast, the solar power system is highly dependent on daily fluctuations in light intensity, so it requires optimal operational time settings.

Abstract

The piano manufacturing industry comprises multiple stages to achieve a high-quality product, one of which is the surface finishing of the cabinet after sealer coating. In many woodworking industries, this finishing process is still performed manually using scotch-brite, which requires significant labor and extended processing time. To enhance efficiency, the design and performance evaluation of a scotch-brite machine, manually operated by an operator, were conducted. The objective of this study is to assess the machine’s performance and compare its efficiency with conventional manual finishing. Experimental tests were carried out using ten board samples coated with basecoat or sealer. Each sample was subjected to ten sanding cycles at inverter frequency variations of 30 Hz, 35 Hz, 40 Hz, 45 Hz, and 50 Hz. The initial gloss level of the samples was 18 GU, while the finishing standard ranged between 10–14 GU. The optimal result was obtained at 50 Hz, producing an average gloss of 12.4 GU. The sanding process for ten samples required 223 seconds, equivalent to 3.7 minutes. The scotch-brite machine demonstrated higher efficiency, achieving an efficiency level of 53.5%, reducing processing time by approximately 4.2 minutes compared to the manual method, and lowering operator workload. These findings indicate that the machine can effectively support improved quality, consistency, and productivity in the piano manufacturing industry.
