Abstract

Background: The dehydration correlated with physical fitness and the cognition. The cardiorespiratory fitness correlated with brain ability and working performance too. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to assess the correlation of dehydration status and cardiorespiratory fitness with the concentration of primary school children.Methods: Correlational study is done to the students aged 10-12 years old. The dehydration status is measured by urine specific gravity. The cardiorespiratory fitness is measured by harvard step test and digit symbol test is used to measure concentration. The analysis of the data using product moment to bivariate analysis and partial correlation to multivariate analysis.Results: The result showed that the average of subjects have a mild (Usg 1020.20±6.99 g/dl). The average of the subjects have a less cardiorespiratory fitness (31.27±8.00). The results of concentration ability measurement showed about of 35±12.27. The correlation analysis showed a significant correlation between dehydration status with cardiorespiratory fitness( r=-0.29, p=0.04 ), between dehydration status with concentration (r=-0.29, p=0.036) and between cardiorespiratory fitness with concentration (r=0.295, p=0.03). Partial correlation analysis showed the persistence of a significant correlation between dehydration status and cardiorespiratory fitness (p=0.02), between dehydration status and concentration (p=0.02) and between cardiorespiratory fitness and concentration (p=0.002).Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between dehydration status and cardiorespiratory fitness. There is a significant correlation between dehydration status and the concentration. There is a significant correlation between cardiorespiratory fitness and the concentration.

Abstract

The degree of health of a person's body has decreased which consists of one of the supporting body health, namely cardiorespiratory health or called the degree of maximum oxygen quantity (VO2Max). Children who do less physical activity in the future can experience cardiorespiratory problems such as shortness of breath, heart attack, chest pain, and stroke, because cardiorespiratory fitness increases insulin sensitivity, glucose transport, improves nervous system function and lowers heart rate. This study aims to to determine the relationship between hemoglobin levels and cardiorespiratory resistance (VO2max) in elementary school children. This study is a correlational study on the subjects of elementary school children aged 10-12 years. and multistage random sampling. Measurement of physical fitness level using the Harvard step test method, pulse rate and VO2max were measured using an oximeter, hemoglobin level data using the cyanmeth method. The statistical test used was the Shapiro-Wilk test and the regression estimation curve test was used to determine the relationship between variables. The results of measuring cardiorespiratory endurance (VO2max) by measuring cardiorespiratory function using the Harvard step test showed that on average elementary school children had less cardiorespiratory endurance (49.01 ± 15.16). The results of measuring the hemoglobin level of the subjects showed that the average hemoglobin level was normal (11.03±0.83 mg/dl). The normality test of the data used, namely Shapiro-Wilk, shows a significance of 0.000 (<0.05), which means that the data is not normally distributed. The results of the analysis obtained using the regression estimation curve obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.46 with a significance of 0.786 (p>0.05). The conclusion in this study is that there is no relationship between hemoglobin levels and cardiorespiratory endurance (VO2max) in elementary school children. The importance of providing a balanced nutritional intake, a balanced diet and activity can increase hemoglobin and VO2max levels in elementary school children.

Abstract

Masalah gizi yang masih menjadi fokus di Indonesia adalah stunting. Stunting sering tidak disadari oleh masyarakat karena tidak adanya indikasi seperti penyakit pada umumnya. Oleh karena itu, penanggulangan masalah stunting harus dimulai jauh sebelum seorang anak dilahirkan dan bahkan sejak remaja untuk dapat memutus rantai stunting dalam siklus kehidupan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan kepada remaja sekolah menengah atas, terkait pencegahan stunting dan ragam protein hewani. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah dengan metode ceramah, penyampaian materi dan tanya jawab. Adapun hasil pengabdian diperoleh bahwa penyuluhan yang disertai dengan diskusi dengan para siswa SMK Darussalam Kabupaten Semarang berdampak positif terhadap pemahaman dan sikap siswa dalam pemenuhan ragam protein hewani untuk mendukung upaya pencegahan stunting.

Abstract

Diversifikasi pangan merupakan salah satu program pemerintah yang berfokus pada penganekaragaman bahan pangan. Kebijakan ini diperlukan demi mendukung terwujudnya ketersediaan aneka ragam pangan berbasis lokal dan sebagai strategi mengatasi ketergantungan masyarakat terhadap bahan pangan seperti tepung terigu. Upaya tersebut dapat didukung dengan memanfaatkan ampas tahu. Tepung ampas tahu memiliki sifat fisik yang sama dengan tepung pada umumnya, namun memiliki kandungan gizi lebih tinggi. Produk pangan yang digemari oleh sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia adalah mie, dimana bahan dasar mie adalah tepung terigu. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan kepada remaja tentang pemanfaatan sumber daya pangan lokal dan berinovasi dalam pembuatan makanan dengan sumber yang lebih bergizi. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah dengan metode ceramah, penyampaian materi dan tanya jawab. Adapun hasil pengabdian diperoleh bahwa penyuluhan yang disertai dengan diskusi dengan para siswa SMP Negeri 8 Kota Semarang berdampak positif terhadap pemahaman dan sikap siswa dalam memanfaatkan sumber pangan lokal.

Abstract

For the Indonesian people, rice is life. Rice is a staple food source for the majority of Indonesia's population. Based on the method of processing, several types of rice are known, including crushed rice, polished rice, milled rice, broken skin rice, head rice, instant rice, and parboiled rice. Rice quality includes market quality, physical quality, milled quality, cooking quality and nutritional quality. Until now, nutritional quality is still neglected. This is partly because the government is still focusing on efforts to increase rice production to meet the needs of the population. After rice self-sufficiency was achieved, driven by economic improvements and technological advances, the nutritional quality of rice began to receive attention. The success of economic development has brought consumers to a status that allows demands for higher quality rice to emerge.

Abstract

The percentage of stunting in Semarang City in 2018 was 11.18%, while the Semarang targets is to fall to 4% in 2024. To accordance with this target, the Bambankerep Village Head's commitment is zero stunted in his area by 2024. The aim of the community service activities is to restore stunted toddlers in Bambankerep Village. The method used specific nutritional intervention and sensitive nutrition intervention accompanied by observation. Stunted toddlers who have been given intervention experience an increase in their z score to the normal category. The sectors involved in this research are PKK, Posyandu Cadres, Academics, Social Services, LPMK, Bhabinkamtibmas and the private sector. Each sector takes its own role in specific nutrition and nutrition sensitive interventions. In the future, more similar activities will be held by collaborating with other, more diverse sectors, such as the education sector.

Abstract

One of the public health programs that is very important for the development and health of Indonesian society is Posyandu which is aimed at improving the health of adolescents in urban and rural areas. It is hoped that the youth Posyandu will become a community forum that facilitates teenagers in understanding their health problems, expanding the reach of the PKPR Community Health Center in providing promotive and preventive services to target teenagers, especially teenagers in the regions. Based on this problem, our community service team intends to hold a socialization for youth posyandu at SMK Negeri 4 Kedal which will be held in May – June 2024. The method of implementation, discussion, socialization of reproductive health and nutrition material for teenagers includes a tutorial on how to use Z-scrore which is useful as a monitor growth and development development for adolescents. Results: teenagers at SMK Negeri 4 Kendal formed a youth posyandu which was held once a month and coordinated with the Brangsong health center in youth posyandu activities. The conclusion is that the role of the UKS and PMR supervisors will be to carry out youth posyandu regularly in coordination with the Bransong 2 Kendal community health center.

Abstract

Gadget addiction causes various personality disorders. This study is to determine whether the use of gadgets with screen time has an effect on emotional intelligence. This research uses the cross-sectional method. The research variables are gadgets as an independent variable, screen time as an intervening variable, and emotional intelligence as a determining variable. The population of adolescents is the middle adolescence (15-18 years) SMA X Semarang City as many as 252 people. Using a minimum sample of 100 people, with a cluster random sampling technique. Data analysis using Path Analysis. Validity test with a 5% confidence level of 0.374. The calculated r-value > r-table. The reliability test used Cronbach Alpha with the results of the reliability value > 0.7. Research results: (1) The significance value of 0.751 > 0.05 means that the use of gadgets does not affect screen time. (2) The significance value of 0.025 < 0.05 means that the use of gadgets affects emotional intelligence. (3) The significance value of 0.722 > 0.05 means that the use of screen time does not affect emotional intelligence. (4) The direct effect of using gadgets on emotional intelligence is explained by a beta value of 0.228. (5) The indirect effect between gadget use and screen time as an intervening variable is (-0.032 x 0.035 = (-0.00112), so 0.228 > (-0.00112), meaning that screen time is not an intervening variable between gadgets and emotional intelligence. The better a person's emotional intelligence, the better it will be accepted by the community.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan dan peningkatan peran serta masyarakat adalah salah satu cara pengendalian PTM (Penyakit Tidak Menular) yang efektif dan efisien di masyarakat. Cara yang tepat di lakukan dengan pencegahan PTM dan pemberian makanan yang mengandung banyak vitamin. Pencegahan PTM dan pemberian makanan mengandung banyak vitamin di mulai dalam pelaksanaan Posyandu Remaja di Sekolah. (Rofiqoch, I. (2020).(Kemenkes, 2019). Pengabdian masyarakat pada posyandu remaja dilakukan di SMK NU 4 Patebon Kendal yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 4 Agustus – 6 Agustus 2024. Pelaksanaan posyandu terbagi dalam 3 tingkatan dengan melibatkan petugas puskesmas pada hari ke tiga, yang sebelumnya siswa telah di lakukan pemberian pengetahuan tentang gizi pada remaja dan penyuluhan tentang pemanfaatan lahan dengan ditanami sayuran. Deteksi dini antara lain adalah pemeriksaan tekanan darah ,cek gula darah ,Tinggi Badan, Berat Badan dengan didapatkan siswa yang terimunisasi TT 100 % pada siswa perempuan. dan terdapat 1 siswa laki-laki yang terdeteksi pada pemerikasaan cek gula darah didapatkan hasil diatas normal. Kemudian di lakukan rujukan serta di beri pemberian konseling dalam pola makannya. Diharapkan peran serta Pembina UKS atau guru, sangat penting dalam memberikan motivasi kepada siswa agar datang rutin di posyandu dan posyandu tetap berjalan setiap bulan guna cepat terdeteksi secara dini masalah kesehatan yang terjadi pada remaja.

Abstract

Sanitasi lingkungan di kantin sekolah sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kesehatan, kebersihan, dan kesejahteraan siswa. Sanitasi dan higiene di kantin sekolah sangat penting karena kantin merupakan tempat untuk mengolah lebih lanjut makanan dan minuman yang disajikan kepada konsumen. Penelitian ini mengkaji praktik sanitasi lingkungan di kantin sekolah dasar di Semarang, Indonesia, dan menyoroti pentingnya praktik tersebut bagi kesehatan dan kesejahteraan siswa. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi praktik-praktik utama seperti standar higiene penjamah, praktik hidup bersih dan sehat, dan pengetahuan. Meskipun praktik-praktik tersebut telah dilaksanakan, masih terdapat kejadian sakit perut pada anak-anak. Temuan-temuan ini menekankan perlunya pendekatan yang komprehensif untuk meningkatkan upaya sanitasi, memastikan lingkungan makan yang aman dan sehat bagi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan sebagai penilaian dasar bagi para pembuat kebijakan dan pendidik yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan sanitasi lingkungan di kantin sekolah. Metode pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan wawancara dan observasi langsung ke Sekolah Dasar yang telah di tentukan oleh Dinas Kesehatan Kota Semarang sebagai lokus penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 81 siswa mengalami sakit perut setelah membeli Pangan Jajajan Anak Sekolah (PJAS) di kantin dengan presentase  skor penjamah di kantin 69,23%, peralatan pengolahan makananan skor 88,21%, penyajian penjualan makanan 78,46%. Akan tetapi Variabel pengetahuan dan inspeksi kantin yang diperiksa memiliki nilai p value 0,238 menunjukan hubungan tidak signifikan secara statistik. Nilai -0.193 menunjukkan korelasi negatif yang lemah dengan jumlah sampel 39 Sekolah Dasar di Kota Semarang.
