Abstract

Technological developments exert a profound influence on all sectors. Education plays a key role in shaping scientific attitudes in elementary school students. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Qur'ani discovery learning model in training the scientific attitude character of grade V students in elementary schools. The present study adopts a qualitative research approach, specifically a case study design. The research was conducted from July to December 2022. The research subjects were fifth-grade teachers and students at SDIT Lukman Al Hakim International Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques employed included interviews, observations, and documentation. The Lankshear and Knobel model was utilised to analyse the data. The validity of the data was established through the utilisation of subject triangulation and method triangulation techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Qur'ani discovery learning model in training students' scientific attitudes in elementary schools consists of a 7M learning cycle, including admiring, appreciating, researching, realising, realising, collaborating, actualising, and giving. The study experience will be more meaningful if it is carried out with various learning activities both inside and outside the classroom, so that the character of scientific attitudes can be formed in primary school students.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the nature of scientific attitudes through the implementation of the scientific approach among fourth-grade students in elementary schools. This research is of the survey research variety. The research was conducted from January to September of 2023. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students in primary schools with a population of all students in SDIT Samawi Bantul. The research sample was obtained through the implementation of a simple random sampling technique, encompassing a total of 54 grade IV students, including 22 male students and 32 female students. The present study will utilize questionnaire guidelines to collect pertinent data. The research instrument employed was a closed-ended questionnaire. The study employed two distinct approaches to data analysis: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The analysis was conducted using SPSS 25. The findings of this study indicated that the character of scientific attitude can be cultivated in students enrolled in primary schools through the implementation of a scientific approach. The following characteristics are indicative of a scientific attitude: 1) environmental protection; 2) cooperation; 3) honesty; 4) curiosity; 5) creativity; and 6) critical thinking.

Abstract

Pentingnya peran pendidik dan peserta didik dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan hidup. Terutama di lingkungan sekolah agar aman dan nyaman digunakan sebagai tempat belajar maupun media belajar. Perlu upaya untuk mengembangkan pendidikan karakter “peduli lingkungan” melalui program praktik pembelajaran untuk menginisiasi budaya peduli lingkungan di lingkungan sekolah. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah melatih karakter “peduli lingkungan” pada guru dan siswa untuk membentuk pribadi yang peduli terhadap lingkungan alam sekitar melalui program praktik pembelajaran. Program ini dilaksanakan di MI Al-Mumtaz Pathuk, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. Program praktik pembelajaran ada dua tahap yaitu Pendampingan Guru Kelas dan Praktik Permodelan Pembelajaran. Rangkaian pelaksanaan program kegiatan pengabdian telah dilaksanakan dengan baik selama enam bulan dari bulan Oktober 2020 sampai dengan Maret 2021, yang meliputi: koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah, pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian, dan pembuatan laporan pengabdian. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mengedukasi pentingnya menjaga kelestarian alam dan peningkatan kesadaran sehingga membentuk karakter positif “peduli lingkungan” pada diri guru dan siswa di MI Al-Mumtaz Pathuk Gunungkidul.

Abstract

The increasingly globalised development of science and technology represents a challenge in the digital era. The role of technology is expanding rapidly to support the learning process. It is therefore vital for education leaders to adapt to this changing landscape, adopt a leadership style that embraces technological innovation, and facilitate its effective integration into educational practices. This study aims to determine the principal's leadership style applied in the digital era in elementary schools. The study adopts a survey research design. The research was conducted from January to June 2024. The study's participants comprised class teachers and/or subject teachers, drawn from a population of elementary schools in Laren District, Lamongan, East Java. The research sample was obtained through the implementation of a simple random sampling technique, with a total of five elementary schools in Laren District, Lamongan, East Java, constituting the study's sample. Data collection techniques employed included the administration of questionnaires and guidelines. The data collection instrument employed was a questionnaire of a closed nature. The research data underwent a dual-stage analysis:Initially, a data validity test was conducted utilising the Person Product Moment correlation formula.Subsequently, a reliability test was performed employing the Cronbach Alpha formula. The statistical analysis of the score data was conducted using the software program Microsoft Excel. The results indicated that the principal's leadership style in addressing the challenges of the digital era can be categorised into five distinct styles: 1) transformational style with a percentage of 88.33%; 2) delegative style with a percentage of 87.78%; 3) transactional style with a percentage of 87.50%; 4) democratic style with a percentage of 86.25%; and 5) authoritarian style with a percentage of 85.17%. Of the five principal leadership styles, the most widely used and in accordance with the digitalization era is the transformational style, which demonstrates very strong criteria. The findings of this study are anticipated to furnish information that will inform policies on the utilisation of technology in the management of institutions at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The development of science and technology has accelerated, so education needs new technology. Teachers are limited in their use of digital science learning media in elementary schools. Books are not being used as full science learning resources, so new learning media are needed. This study aims to develop a flipbook called "Ensiklopedia Tumbuhan" for elementary school students to learn science. This research constitutes a development study (Research and Development) employing the ADDIE model, which comprises the following stages: The sequence of these phases is as follows: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research was conducted from April 2022 to August 2023. The research subjects were fourth-grade students enrolled at SDIT Samawi, Bantul. The data collection techniques employed in this study involved the administration of questionnaires. The analysis employed quantitative descriptive analysis techniques, with data calculated using Microsoft Excel. The flipbook media "Ensiklopedia Tumbuhan" was deemed suitable based on evaluations by subject matter experts, media experts, and field testing results with elementary school students. Research results show that the "Ensiklopedia Tumbuhan" flipbook product is suitable for elementary science education, with an average score of 98.46% and the highest "A" rating from subject experts. The pilot test of the "Ensiklopedia Tumbuhan" flipbook as a learning resource also had an average score of 86% in the "highly suitable" category.

Abstract

Background: The fingerprint registration system has been implemented at Tangerang City Hospital since 2024 for all clinics as an effort to digitize outpatient services. However, the implementation of this system for patients with mental disorders such as schizophrenia has created access barriers, such as anxiety, ignorance, and emotional resistance. Long waiting times also hinder patient compliance with follow-up visits. Objective: This study aims to explore the experiences of schizophrenia patients and their family caregivers regarding the fingerprint registration system, waiting times, and interactions with healthcare professionals. This study also develops policy recommendations based on the experiences of service users. Methods: This qualitative study used a phenomenological approach using in-depth interviews with 20 informants (family members, healthcare professionals, registration coordinators, the Head of Medical Records and the Head of the Yanmed Work Team), as well as non-participatory observation and focus group discussions (FGDs). Analysis was conducted based on content. Results: Patients with schizophrenia experienced emotional, technical, and psychological barriers in the fingerprinting process. This non-inclusive system caused stress and discomfort, resulting in low compliance with follow-up visits. Waiting times exceeding two hours also worsened patients' psychological well-being. Most informants suggested a dedicated pathway and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mental-friendly services as alternative policies. Conclusion: The fingerprint-based outpatient service policy is not yet inclusive of vulnerable groups such as schizophrenia patients. Reformulation of SOPs and policies for mental-friendly services based on empathy, efficient service duration, and alternative identity verification methods is needed.

Abstract

Dampak kebijakan pembelajaran daring selama pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan penurunan motivasi belajar siswa sehingga hasil belajar siswa kurang optimal. Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA dengan menggunakan pendekatan ekspositori. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas tipe kolaboratif. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai dengan Juni 2022. Subyek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas IV di MI Darul Ma’arif 1 Serut Bantul yang berjumlah 26 siswa, terdiri dari 13 siswa laki-laki dan 13 siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi dan soal tes. Pengambilan data penelitian dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus pembelajaran yaitu: pratindakan, tindakan siklus I, dan tindakan siklus II. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Indikator keberhasilan penelitian ini ditandai dengan adanya peningkatan kualitas proses (keaktifan siswa dan suasana kelas menjadi lebih hidup) dan hasil belajar IPA (75 % siswa mencapai KKM 7,5). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan diterapkan pendekatan ekspositori, kualitas proses pembelajaran menjadi meningkat, terbukti siswa menjadi lebih kritis dalam proses pembelajaran, rasa ingin tahu yang tinggi serta mampu bekerjasama. Sehingga, menjadikan suasana kelas lebih aktif dan menyenangkan. Selain itu, hasil belajar IPA pada siswa meningkat, terbukti dengan nilai rata-rata siswa pratindakan sebesar 7,6 dengan pencapaian KKM 49,98 % sebanyak 12 siswa, tindakan siklus I nilai rata-rata meningkat sebesar 8,17 dengan pencapaian KKM 80,75 % sebanya 21 siswa, dan pada tindakan siklus II meningkat menjadi 8,65 dengan pencapaian KKM 88,40 % sebanyak 23 siswa dari 26 siswa keseluruhan yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan ekspositori.

Abstract

The importance of producing scientific papers in an academic environment is a necessity. However, it is a challenge for students who have just entered the world of writing. Therefore, this writing training activity aims to increase students' writing motivation and literacy and numeracy skills in compiling a scientific paper. The method of implementing activities uses the forum group discussion (FGD) method and the simulation method. The results of the activity showed that the writing training activities for students at Ma'had Aly Asslafiyyah went well. Participants have been able to prepare a draft of a scientific paper. Apart from that, 95% of participants had a strong desire to learn to improve their literacy and numeracy skills, as seen from the very positive response from participants participating in the training until the end of the activity. Through the Scientific Writing training activities at Ma'had Aly Assalafiyyah, students' enthusiasm and enthusiasm for improving their literacy and numeracy skills can be seen increasing, with follow-up plans aimed at strengthening the quality of learning and preparing students to contribute to the scientific world.

Abstract

Shopee is the first mobile marketplace with free shipping in Indonesia that entered the Indonesian market in May 2015. Shopee was the most frequently visited platform in the third quarter of 2020 in Indonesia. However, Shopee dropped to the 2nd position based on Indonesia's e-commerce visitor data in 2021. Many complaints have been submitted through the @ShopeeCare Twitter account regarding delays in orders or orders not arriving, problems ordering goods, and returning goods. This study aimed to determine the effect of Shopee Indonesia's system quality and service quality on customer satisfaction of undergraduate students. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design to a sample of 128 students’ class of 2018 of the Accounting Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The result shows that there is a significant positive effect between system quality and service quality on customer satisfaction of Shopee among the undergraduate students.

Abstract

Bawang merah (Allium cepa L. var. ascalonicum) termasuk dalam tujuh komoditas pangan yang harganya berfluktuasi dan berkontribusi terhadap inflasi. Komoditas bawang merah ini memiliki banyak manfaat dan potensial dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pangan nasional. Pengembangan varietas bawang merah baru memerlukan ketersediaan variasi genetik dalam plasma nutfah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengembangan sumber daya genetik untuk meningkatkan produktivitas bawang merah di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi variasi 21 kultivar bawang merah di Indonesia berdasarkan karakter morfologis sebagai informasi potensi sumber daya genetik. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2021-Oktober 2023 di Laboratorium Kebun Percobaan Sawitsari, Fakultas Biologi, UGM. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 21 kultivar bawang merah yang dilepas oleh Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran (BALITSA) pada tahun 1984-2018. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif mengikuti metode pengamatan. Prosedur kerja menggunakan teknik penanaman mengikuti standar operasional prosedur dari Departemen Pertanian yang dimodifikasi media tanam. Data penelitian berupa data deskriptif dari pengamatan morfologis 55 karakter bawang merah, terdiri dari daun, umbi, akar, bunga, biji, serta masa tanam, panen dan pascapanen. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan 21 kultivar bawang merah terdapat karakter morfologis yang beragam pada daun dan umbi. Adanya variasi tersebut kemungkinan disebabkan oleh faktor genetik yang dihasilkan dari adaptasi tanaman terhadap lingkungan yang berbeda. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan pentingnya karakter morfologis sebagai bahan informasi sumber daya genetik komoditas bawang merah Indonesia.
