Abstract

In the present digital age, the utilization of e-learning platforms in education is becoming increasingly significant. This is especially true in the field of Mathematics Education, where there exists a challenge to enhance students' critical and creative thinking abilities. This research aimed to investigate the improvement in students' critical and creative mathematical thinking abilities through the implementation of a team project-based model, Flip-a-Team, within UNP's e-learning platform. A quasi-experimental research design was used, applying a post-test control group approach. The sample involved 64 students from a mathematics study program who were enrolled in the July - December 2022 semester. These students were divided into two groups: 32 students in the experimental group (Class A) that was instructed through the Flip-a-team model, and 32 students in the control group (Class B) that experienced problem-based learning. Based on an independent t-test, the results demonstrated that the mathematical learning process incorporating the Flip-a-Team model had a positive and significant impact on the students' critical and creative mathematical thinking abilities. The Flip-a-Team model is recommended for implementation in mathematics instruction. The UNP e-learning platform could serve as a feasible solution for digitally based mathematics education, particularly in fostering students' critical and creative thinking abilities in mathematics.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Perangkat Pembelajaran, Pecahan, Model Penemuan Terbimbing Abstract: The purpose of this study was to produce a fraction learning tool based on a valid, practical and effective guided discovery model for grade IV elementary school, in the form of a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) and a Fractional Student Worksheet (LKPD). This research is a development research with the Plomp model consisting of three stages, namely the preliminary research stage, the development stage, and the assessment stage. This research produces learning tools that meet the valid, practical and effective criteria. The results of the analysis of the RPP and LKPD validation sheets showed that the learning tools developed were valid. Learning tools are also practical based on the results of the analysis of the teacher's response questionnaire, student response questionnaire and observation sheet of the implementation of learning. In addition, the learning tools developed are also effective for improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities. Keywords: Learning Tools, Fraction, Guided Discovery Model

Abstract

The research aims to produce a mathematics learning tool based on problem-based learning to improve problem-solving abilities in semester II class XI high school material that is valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is development research, while the population in this research is class XI students at SMAN 4 Payakumbuh using a random sampling technique class. This research uses a development model consisting of 3 stages: the initial investigation stage, the development or prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. Data collection techniques in this development model are interviews with teachers and students and questionnaires for teachers and students. The validation test stage consists of self-evaluation and validation sheets for the RPP and LKPD. Practicality test instruments describe the practicality of the learning tools being developed. The research results showed that the lesson plans developed averaged 3.56 in the very valid category. In contrast, the LKPD developed had an average of 3.39 in the very valid category. Overall, the practicality value of the RPP is 87.50% with very practical criteria, and the practicality value of LKPD is 88.67% with very practical criteria. This means that based on the questionnaire on the practicality of the RPP and LKPD filled out by educators for mathematics learning tools using the PBL model, it is stated that they are very practical and can be used well by students in learning.

Abstract

The mathematical content in school mathematics must not be isolated from students known context students so the mathematics learning becomes meaningful. One context that is close to the student environment is a popular cultural context, for example batik crafts. This research aims to explore native batik of Kerinci related to transformation geometry content. The type of research used is ethnography. The instrument used in this research was the researcher himself (human instrument). The data collection techniques used are literature study and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the motif of native batik of Kerinci contains mathematical concepts in the geometry transformation content, namely reflection, translation, rotation and dilation. These findings can be integrated into mathematics learning through transformation geometry learning tools using the context of native batik of Kerinci.
