Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the conditions of learning Scientific Writing, the prevalence and classifications of academic procrastination among students in this context. This study uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The subjects of the study were students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun, who were taking the Scientific Writing course.Scales for academic procrastination, observation manuals, and document grids were the tools utilized to collect data. Data collection techniques were carried out through psychological assessments, passive participant observation, and document studies. While qualitative data analysis makes use of an interactive analytical model, quantitative data analysis makes use of descriptive statistics. The results of the study show that learning to write scientific papers has not been implemented properly. In addition, it is also known that there are several weaknesses in scientific works written by students, namely in the aspects of arranging logical thinking, discussion sequence, data literacy, argumentation, references, sentence and paragraph arrangement, use of spelling, scientific writing style, and originality. The level of academic procrastination among students in the Scientific Writing learning is relatively high. Compared to female students, men students put off learning Scientific Writing more often. The level of academic procrastination is correlated with student learning achievement.

Abstract

The study focuses on using a research and development strategy to develop materials for academic essay writing materials. It employs a modified version of Borg and Gall's (2003) R&D research design, with phases (1) research and information collecting, (2) developing a primary form of product, (3) validating product, (4) trying out product, (5) revising product, and (6) producing final product. The participants were the students from a private university in Indonesia. Questionnaires, interview guidelines, and an observation checklist were used to gather data. The results are found by descriptive analysis, with an 81% expert validation and an 83% trial success rate. Positive student involvement is seen, and comments emphasize how well the materials fit the goals, concepts, exercises, and group projects. Students report that the materials help the students become better writers. The materials help students write academically and push teachers to try new things in their classrooms. The success of the material points to their potential for broader application and emphasizes how crucial it is to match the materials with syllabuses, course descriptions, and learning objectives for students

Abstract

AbstrakKemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa SMA belum memuaskan. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa karena faktor pemilihan model dan media pembelajaran yang kurang interaktif dan inspiratif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan media gambar berseri dan mendeskripsikan keaktifan siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi. Jenis penelitian yang dipilih adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model Kemmis & McTaggart yang dilakukan dalam bentuk siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas 4 kegiatan pokok, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI.9 SMA Negeri 1 Kota Madiun tahun pelajaran 2023/2024 sejumlah 36 orang. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan teknik tes, observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Indikator Kriteria Ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran (KKTP) dirumuskan mengacu pada penilaian yang berbasis pada pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran yang telah ditetapkan. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis proyek berbantuan media gambar berseri dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa dan mampu meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Nilai kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan media gambar berseri dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi. Students' poor explanatory text writing abilities can be attributed, in part, to their usage of less engaging and dynamic learning models and media. The aims of this study is to describe how a project-based learning model, with the help of serial picture media, has improved students' ability to produce explanation texts. It also aims to describe how actively students have participated in the process of learning to write explanatory texts. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which is carried out in cycle form. Each cycle consists of four main activities: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 36 students in class XI.9 of SMA Negeri 1, Madiun City. Research data was collected using test, observation, interview, and questionnaire techniques. Learning Goal Achievement Criteria Indicators (KKTP) are formulated to refer to assessments based on the achievement of predetermined learning goals. Three methods of data analysis were used: quantitative, qualitative, and descriptive. The study's findings demonstrate how project-based learning, when aided by serial picture media, can raise student engagement in the classroom and help students write more informative texts. The combination of serial picture media with a project-based learning approach for learning to create explanatory text is where this research's innovation value resided. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengidentifikasi unsur teks berita pada siswa kelas XI-1 SMA Negeri 1 Madiun melalui model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Tipe Think Pair Share. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Metode yang digunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari tahap prasiklus, siklus I dan siklus II. Hasil dan pembahasan menunjukkan model ini berhasil meningkatkan kualitas hasil belajar secara keseluruhan. Pada prasiklus, nilai rata-rata siswa adalah 71 dan tidak ada yang mencapai KKTP. Setelah diterapkan model ini, siklus I nilai rata-rata mengalami kenaikan menjadi 78 dengan 21 siswa mencapai KKTP. Siklus II, juga mengalami kenaikan nilai rata-rata menjadi 88 dan seluruh siswa mencapai KKTP. Maka dapat disimpulkan secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini memperoleh bukti kuat bahwa model Cooperative Learning tipe Think Pair Share efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengidentifikasi unsur teks berita pada siswa Kelas XI-1 SMA Negeri 1 Madiun.

Abstract

This study aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of weight measurement in grade 1 at SDN 01 Winongo Madiun by utilizing non-standard measuring tools. Initial observations revealed that many students had not met the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), indicating that conventional teaching methods were insufficiently effective. This research employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which includes cycles of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In the pre-cycle, only 46% of students met the KKM. The use of non-standard measuring tools in Cycle I increased the percentage of students meeting the KKM to 64%, and adjustments made in Cycle II further improved learning outcomes to 86%. These findings suggest that non-standard measuring tools can enhance students' understanding of weight measurement concepts in a more tangible and interactive manner. The study concludes that this approach is effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes and can serve as a more engaging and applicable teaching method in the classroom.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan mendiskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran model PBL (Problem Bassed Learning) pada siswa kelas VI SDN Cepoko Panekan Magetan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah penelitian diskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan yang muncul pada penerapan pembelajaran model PBL : (1) Penggunaan model pembelajaran PBL, terdapat kendala yaitu: (a) Kemampuan guru dalam memahami dan menerapkan model tersebut dalam  pembelajaran; b) Ketidaksesuaian pemilihan model dengan karakteristik materi; (c) siswa kurang aktif dalam merespons diskusi, (d) siswa kekurangan ide, (e) siswa kurang percaya diri dalam menyampaikan pendapat. Di samping hal itu kendala model pembelajaran PBL yaitu: (1) Guru belum terbiasa mengelola kelas dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran PBL; (2) Siswa belum terbiasa belajar dengan berkelompok; (3) Siswa belum terbiasa terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran; (2) Hasil test belajar siswa dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, siswa yang belum tuntas dalam belajarnya sebanyak 2 siswa atau 11,11% (perolehan nilai < KKM), sedangkan siswa yang tuntas belajar sebanyak 16 orang atau 88,89% (perolehan nilai > KKM).  AbstractThis study aims to explain and describe the implementation of the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model in class VI students at SDN Cepoko Panekan Magetan. The approach used is quantitative descriptive research. The results of research related to the problems that arise in the application of the PBL learning model: (1) The use of the PBL learning model, there are obstacles, namely: (a) The teacher's ability to understand and apply this model in learning; b) Incompatibility of model selection with material characteristics; (c) students are less active in responding to discussions, (d) students lack ideas, (e) students lack confidence in expressing opinions. In addition to this, the obstacles to the PBL learning model are: (1) Teachers are not used to managing classes by applying the PBL learning model; (2) Students are not used to learning in groups; (3) Students are not used to being actively involved in learning; (2) The results of student learning tests in the implementation of Indonesian language learning, students who have not completed their learning are 2 students or 11.11% (acquired scores <KKM), while students who complete learning are 16 people or 88.89% (acquired scores > KKM).

Abstract

The high level of academic procrastination in the Scientific Writing course needs serious attention because, if left unchecked, it can result in failure to achieve academic achievement. The main focus of this study is to analyze the impact of Project-Based Learning Model on academic procrastination and examine the impact of Self-Regulated Learning as a mediating variable among students in Scientific Writing courses. This research uses an experimental research design. The research population was all students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Indonesia, who were taking the Scientific Writing courses. A sample of 186 students was obtained by using the cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used were the Self-Regulated Learning scale and the academic procrastination scale. Data analysis includes descriptive data analysis, prerequisite tests, and inferential data analysis using a two-way ANOVA. The following research findings support the following findings: (1) students in the Scientific Paper course who received a project-based learning model showed significantly higher levels of academic procrastination than students who received a conventional learning model; (2) students in the Scientific Paper course who had high levels of self-regulated learning and those who had low levels of self-regulated learning showed significantly higher levels of academic procrastination; and (3) there was an interaction effect between the project-based learning model and self-regulated learning on academic procrastination of students in the Scientific Paper course. It is thought that the growth of SRL will improve academic performance and boost students' accountability for their education. To track the evolution of SRL and the calibre of students' scientific work over time, further longitudinal study can be done. Another possible line of inquiry is the creation of a hybrid learning paradigm that specifically combines SRL training and PBL.

Abstract

Abstract:  This training aims to equip parking attendants in Madiun City to have the attitude and politeness of language while carrying out their duties. This training is crucial because the attitude and politeness of speech play a crucial role in fostering a sense of security, comfort, and respect among vehicle users. The training activities were carried out in 2 stages, namely the material provision stage and the field practice stage. During the material provision stage, participants received information on (1) Regional and Madiun Mayor Parking Management Regulations, (2) Attitude Development, and (3) Language Politeness. Each participant carried out field practice by implementing good attitudes and speaking politely when carrying out parking duties. The training participants were 20 parking attendants in the Madiun City area. The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of the University of PGRI Madiun fully funded this training activity. The training method uses lecture and practice/demonstration methods. The training results show a change in good attitudes and the use of polite language among the training participants. Abstrak: Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membekali para juru parkir di Kota Madiun agar memiliki sikap dan kesantunan berbahasa selama menjalankan tugasnya. Pelatihan ini penting dilakukan karena sikap dan kesantunan berbahasa dalam bertutur sangat penting dalam memberikan rasa aman, nyaman, dan memberikan rasa hormat kepada pengguna kendaraan. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan melalui 2 tahap, yaitu tahap pembekalan materi dan tahap praktik di lapangan. Pada tahap pembekalan materi diberikan materi tentang: (1) Peraturan Daerah dan Peraturan Walikota Madiun tentang Pengelolaan Parkir, (2) Pengembangan Sikap, dan (3) Kesantunan berbahasa. Praktik di lapangan dilakukan oleh setiap peserta dengan menerapkan sikap baik dan bertutur dengan santun ketika menjalankan tugas parkir. Peserta pelatihan sebanyak 20 juru parkir di wilayah Kota Madiun. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dibiayai sepenuhnya oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas PGRI Madiun. Metode pelatihan menggunakan metode ceramah dan praktik/unjuk kerja. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya perubahan sikap yang baik dan penggunaan bahasa yang santun pada peserta pelatihan.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the historical background and value of character education in the novel "Perburuan" by Pramoedya Ananta Toer and its relevance to literature learning in schools. This research is qualitative descriptive research using a literary sociology approach. The data source is the novel "Perburuan" by Pramoedya Ananta Tour, and several references are related to the study of the novel. The data collection technique is done through document analysis, namely analyzing various documents to formulate the research problem. Data analysis uses flow model analysis with stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The research results show that the historical setting in the novel studied can be used as a historical document containing the struggle of the Indonesian people against the Japanese colonialists. The novel contains three historical settings: the Japanese occupation of Indonesia, the PETA rebellion, and the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The novel "Perburuan" contains four character education values: religious values, the value of national spirit or nationalism, the value of love for the homeland, and the value of love of peace. These character education values need to be taught to students through literature learning. The expected result of character education through literature learning is the formation of individuals who behave nobly based on character and example, reflected in students' daily behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) on early reading ability of students with special needs in Inclusive Elementary Schools in Magetan Regency based on reading interest. This study used 2 x 2 factorial design with pre-test and post-test control group design. The samples were selected using a cluster random sampling technique; 35 students were selected as experimental group members, while 37 were selected as control group members. Reading interest scale was used to measure the reading interest of students, and early reading ability was measured using early reading ability test. Two-way ANOVA was used to analyse the hypothesis. The test was performed with a multiple comparison test using Scheffe's method. The results show that (1) there are differences in the early reading ability of students with special needs who are taught by applying the IEP and those who are not; (2) there are differences in the early reading ability of students with special needs between groups of students with high reading interest and low reading interest; (3) there is an interaction between the application of IEP and reading interest in improving the early reading ability of students with special needs.
