Abstract

Abstract

Learning media in online learning is needed to understand mathematical concepts such as derivative material. Students need help connecting the derivative material with other materials, such as tangent equations. Technology-based learning media can be an alternative to help students improve their understanding of derivative concepts, one of which uses GeoGebra and LaTeX. The final product expected from this research is online learning media in the form of the GeoGebra web that students can access easily, which is in the valid category. This research is development research with a 4D development model. Due to the limitations of researchers, only three stages were carried out, namely, Define, Design, and Develop. The data collected in this study were obtained through validation sheets. Three experts carried out validation. The results of the validity test of the learning media developed belonged to the valid category with a score of 3,79. It can be concluded that online learning media is appropriate for use in classroom learning.

Abstract

Mathematics plays a crucial role in daily life, and understanding basic mathematical concepts such as whole numbers is vital for students in developing problem-solving skills. Additionally, students can gain an understanding of and appreciation for the cultural values present in their community. By integrating student worksheets that are linked to culture, especially the Banjar Floating Market Culture, it is hoped that students will become more aware of the cultural elements in their surroundings. Therefore, the aim of this study is to create a problem-based student worksheets focused on whole numbers with the context of the Siring Menara Pandang Floating Market for fourth grade elementary school students that is valid, practical, and effective. The research methodology employed is Research and Development (R&D), utilizing the ADDIE framework for the development process. The research instruments applied include validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and evaluation tests. Validity testing was conducted by three validators, consisting of two teachers and one university lecturer. Practicality testing was carried out through student response questionnaires, while effectiveness was determined based on the results of evaluation tests. The validity test yielded a score of 3.61, categorized as highly valid. The student response questionnaires returned a score of 3.71, classified as highly practical. The evaluation test results showed an 85% success rate, categorized as effective. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the problem-based student worksheets on whole numbers for fourth grade elementary school students is deemed valid, practical, and effectiveI

Abstract

Mathematics often appears challenging to students due to its abstract nature and traditional teaching approaches. This study evaluates the effectiveness of web-based interactive learning media within the context of floating market ethnomathematics to enhance student interest and comprehension of mathematical concepts, particularly systems of linear equations in two variables (SLETV). A pre-experimental design was employed, involving 20 eighth-grade students selected through cluster sampling. Data were collected using multiple-choice tests, observations, and interviews. The analysis utilized paired sample t-tests and N-Gain score calculations, revealing an N-Gain score of 0,421, indicating the media's effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. A significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores confirmed the positive impact of the culturally contextualized learning approach. This method improves mathematical understanding and increases student motivation and engagement. This study implies the importance of pedagogical innovation based on local wisdom in developing contextual and meaningful learning media.

Abstract

TIMSS results show that Indonesian students’ math skills remain low compared to other countries. Due to the limited number of participants selected through sampling, many students are unfamiliar with TIMSS-style questions. Therefore, it is necessary to develop TIMSS-modeled math problems to help more students practice and become familiar with the question format. This research aims to develop TIMSS-model math problems using Banjar cultural ethnomathematics that are valid, reliable, and practical. The study used a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. The test subjects were 30 eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 15 Banjarmasin. Instruments included validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and test scores. Two experts validated the product, resulting in a logical validity score of 3.78, categorized as valid. Based on student performance, the questions were empirically valid and reliable. The practicality score from the student questionnaire was 4.475, categorized as practical. This research successfully produced five descriptive math problems that meet the validity, reliability, and practicality criteria.

Abstract

Lack of availability of culturally oriented worksheets around students to improve the character of loving the motherland. The Merdeka Curriculum allows educators to develop teaching materials adapted to the characteristics of each region. This study aims to establish a worksheet with ethnomathematics exploration of the ornaments of the Jingah River Jami Mosque. The research method used is the Plomp model development method which consists of four stages, namely: (1) initial investigation; (2) designs; (3) construction; and (4) test, evaluation, and revision—methods of data collection, namely the method of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. The research subjects included experts as validators, and 7th-grade junior high school students on a limited basis. The results of the validator's assessment were 4,77, the results of the restricted group trials were 80,00%. So the ethnomathematics-based student worksheets for the ornament of the Jingah River Jami mosque are obtained, which are valid, and practical.

Abstract

Technological advancement is now a part of everyday human existence. A good example of this is the field of education. It is now widely understood that learning must be adaptable and accessible at all times in order to meet the needs of diverse learners. This level of flexibility is provided by the Blended instruction paradigm, which mixes in-person and online instruction. This study aims to determine the effect of the blended learning model assisted by QR codes on student learning outcomes in the Matrix Algebra course. The study took a quantitative approach and used a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest. The study included 34 Mathematics Education Program students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro in Indonesia. The researchers created and administered a series of verified and reliable (0.86) test instruments to the students, then evaluated the results with a paired sample t-test. Based on the findings, it is possible to conclude that implementing the blended learning approach with QR codes had a considerable favorable impact on students’ academic progress in the Matrix Algebra course. This research innovatively proposes a blended learning framework involving qualitative data and advanced theoretical mathematics with the use of QR codes. The research shows that a blended learning framework with integrated QR codes can be effective and useful in improving university students’ conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in mathematics courses.
