Abstract

Abstract

The growth of online video platforms in recent years has been driven by a multitude of factors, including advancements in technology and the increasing availability of high-speed internet. However, one of the most significant factors contributing to the success of these platforms is the role of user-generated content (UGC). UGC refers to content created and shared by users of online video platforms, rather than by the platforms themselves. This thesis aims to analyze the role of UGC in the growth of online video platforms by exploring the ways in which UGC contributes to platform success. By examining the impact of UGC, this research provides insights into the evolving landscape of online video and the ways in which UGC shapes it. The study of UGC and its role in the growth of online video platforms has significant implications for marketers, content creators, and platform owners. By understanding the impact of UGC, stakeholders can develop more effective strategies for creating and distributing content on these platforms. This research contributes to the academic understanding of the evolving landscape of online video and the role of UGC in shaping it. Overall, this thesis provides valuable insights into the ways in which UGC drives the growth of online video platforms and highlights its importance for the future of online video.

Abstract

Pain is a complex sensory and emotional experience, often difficult to assess objectively. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has shown great potential in improving the accuracy and efficiency of pain assessment. This study aims to conduct a systematic review of AI-based pain detection methods developed in the period 2020 to 2024. Using the PRISMA 2020 approach, a literature search was conducted in three major databases: PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, with keywords related to pain detection and perception. Of the 1,685 articles found, 44 studies were selected through a rigorous selection process. The analysis of five showed the main approaches in pain detection: Neuroimaging & Neurological, Physiological & Biometric, Visual-Only (facial recognition), Audio/Speech-based, and Behavioral/Observational. Neuroimaging-based approaches such as EEG and fMRI were the most dominant, followed by the use of biometric sensors and facial recognition technology. However, significant challenges remain, including the limitations of global data standards, difficulties in model generalization, and ethical and privacy issues. This study highlights that the integration of non-invasive sensors with deep learning models and personalized approaches can improve the effectiveness of automated pain detection systems.

Abstract

Obesity is defined as an excessive accumulation of body fat resulting from a prolonged imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure, which may lead to various physical and psychosocial health complications. In Indonesia, the prevalence of adult obesity has reached approximately 22%, affecting around 625,000 individuals. One primary contributing factor to weight gain is the frequent consumption of high-calorie foods, such as sugary beverages, fast food, and items with a high glycemic index. This study investigated the association between fast food consumption and obesity among adults. An analytical cross-sectional study involved adult participants at the Pekan Labuhan Community Health Center in Medan who met specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were obtained through structured interviews to assess the frequency of fast food consumption, alongside anthropometric measurements, including body weight, height, and calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI). The results indicated that 63% of the adult population in this community health center were classified as obese, and 72% reported frequent fast food consumption. Statistical analysis using the Pearson correlation test demonstrated a significant relationship between fast food consumption and obesity (p=0.001). The findings suggest that a higher frequency of fast food intake is significantly associated with increased obesity risk. These results underscore the importance of dietary education and public health strategies aimed at reducing fast food consumption to combat the rising prevalence of obesity.
