Abstract

Abstract

Sexual violence is a crime that is in the global public spotlight, with adolescents as vulnerable victims of this crime. In Indonesia, sexual violence against adolescents is the highest case among other cases of violence. Lack of knowledge about sexual violence is one of the causes of high cases of sexual violence in adolescents in Indonesia. Therefore, debriefing on sexual violence needs to be done to minimize sexual violence in adolescents. By implementing sharing-knowledge of sexual violence in adolescents, this community service activity aims to share knowledge and minimize sexual violence in adolescents, especially in the Tinambung neighborhood, Majene District, West Sulawesi. The target of this activity is young people in the Tinambung neighborhood who are involved in Mandar Peduli. The method of lecturing and watching movies is the right choice in implementing community service activities. The results of this service activity are expected to increase understanding and awareness of the general public, especially members of the Mandar Peduli community of sexual violence. In addition, there is an agreement in the minutes of the event which is a concrete step that can be taken through Mandar Peduli in the prevention and handling of sexual violence in adolescents, which can mainly be found in various environments in the community through the guidance of the West Sulawesi University sexual violence prevention and handling unit, this is in accordance with the hope that it can make a positive contribution in preventing and controlling sexual violence in the Tinambung Region, West Sulawesi

Abstract

Background: Student activity and their achievement in science teaching in junior high school are still declining, which causes them to fail in learning. Methods: . This study employs problem-based learning (PBL) to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes, particularly regarding the material on the digestive system. A total of 30 grade VIII students from one of the Islamic junior high schools in the Manokwari city area participated in the teaching. The study began with planning learning, actions, and observations, and ended with reflection in each cycle. We conducted the study in two cycles. Results: The findings of the study indicated that student activity increased by 5%, where in cycle I it was 95% and in cycle II it reached 100%. From cycle I to II, the percentage of student learning outcomes increased by 43.34%. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of PBL can enhance the learning outcomes and activities of students in class VIIIA of junior high school regarding the human digestive system.

Abstract

Mulberry (Morus sp.) is the primary feed for silkworms (Bombyx mori L.) and determines cocoon quality. However, limited land availability and seasonal changes pose challenges for a consistent mulberry leaf supply, prompting research into alternative feeds. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of alternative feeds on the growth of B. mori, including the length and width of silkworms, the number of live and dead silkworms, and the feed consumption of silkworms. A total of 500 silkworms were divided into six treatments with three replicates each. The treatments were mulberry leaves (K), castor leaves (P1), cassava leaves (P2), broiler chicken feed (P3), castor and mulberry leaves combination (P4), cassava and mulberry leaves combination (P5), broiler chicken feed and mulberry leaves combination (P6). Combined feeds were given at a 1:1 ratio. The results confirmed that B. mori exclusively feeds on mulberry leaves, as no silkworms survived  on P1, P2, or P3 treatments. All combination feed treatments (P4, P5, P6) showed that silkworm growth results were not significantly different from the control treatment (K). Therefore, we recommend using all combination feeds as an alternative feed in B. mori cultivation. However, the best combination feed treatment was shown by P6 with the highest silkworm length and width (3.69 cm; 0.57 cm) and the highest feed consumption (44.16 grams), and P5 with the highest percentage of survival rate (75%) and the lowest percentage of death rate (25%).
