Abstract

In rural East Java, Indonesia, this study examines the effects of climate change and sustainable farming practices on food security and agricultural output. A structural equation modeling approach was used to analyze the data from a survey of 250 farmers. The latent constructs' validity and reliability were validated by the measurement model evaluation, and each construct's uniqueness was guaranteed by discriminant validity analysis. Significant correlations were found by using the structural model: production was unexpectedly positively influenced by climate change, while food security was severely affected. Sustainable farming methods have a high positive correlation with production and food security. Demographic analysis shed light on the traits of the farmers in the sample. The evaluation of the model fit revealed that the relationships in the suggested model were satisfactorily represented. By providing useful insights for practitioners and policymakers pursuing sustainable agricultural development, this study advances knowledge of the complex dynamics of East Javan agriculture.

Abstract

Dialogue between religion and science is a necessity, because both of them can mutually reinforce the sources of Islamic law. The astronomical approach in the study of hadith makes a significant contribution to the development of astronomy. This article aims to examine the thoughts of an Indonesian Muslim scholar, namely Syamsul Anwar, who offers the concept of the interconnection of astronomy with hadith (especially astronomical hadith). This type of research is a literature by conducting a descriptive analysis of Syamsul Anwar's thoughts. The results of the study show that his contribution to the study of astronomy through an astronomical approach is able to strengthen understanding of the position of a hadith not only from a shari'ah perspective but at the same time being able to explain the meaning of a text using scientific principles (science). The study shows the importance of contextualization and interconnection between Islamic scholarship and other scientific fields. Thus, the efforts that have been made by Syamsul Anwar further strengthen the importance of dialogue between religion and science

Abstract

Tanoh Alas Village, located in the Aceh province, is known for its multicultural character, with diverse ethnic groups, religions, and natural resources. Despite the long-standing coexistence of its residents, there remains a risk of religious conflicts, particularly those that are less visible. However, the village also offers an ideal environment for astrotourism. This has inspired the facilitators to focus on promoting religious moderation within the community. The key issues addressed in this initiative are: what strategies can be employed in astrotourism facilitation to enhance religious moderation in Tanoh Alas Village, and how do these strategies influence the community's attitudes toward religious moderation? The project utilized the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which encompasses the stages of Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. The outcome of this initiative has been a positive shift in religious moderation among the villagers, facilitated by the establishment of an astrotourism destination that fosters greater unity among different ethnic and religious groups.

But so far, the authors have not found any reports of hilal rukyat from women. This research uses library research method with a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that in the initial determination of the lunar month, female astronomers do not yet have the same rights and position as men.Keyword: Determination of Kamariah, Gender

Abstract

Determining the qibla direction is a topic that also captures public attention. Issues arise among the public when rechecking the qibla direction, leading to various doubts, especially among the people of Aceh province. Based on initial investigations by the facilitator regarding the qibla direction of several mosques in Aceh province, it was found that, on average, the qibla direction of mosques deviates from the direction of the Kaaba. The research problem formulated is: "What form of facilitation is provided to the imam chik in calibrating the qibla direction in Aceh province?" The facilitation method used is the Broad Based Education (BBE) method. The facilitation takes place at four mosques in Aceh province, with the imam chik as the subject. The result are the imeum chik can learn and understand the steps involved in using a theodolite to calibrate the direction of the qibla. They also become aware that the mosques have experienced an average deviation 5.320 of qibla direction. Furthermore, with the assistance provided through of using a theodolite, the imeum chik act as mediators to help the society understand the importance and accuracy of qibla calibrations.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of local culture and cultural tourism activities on the quality and reputation of tourism destinations in Bandung. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing survey data collected from 180 tourists visiting cultural attractions in Bandung. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis was conducted to examine the relationships between cultural variables and destination outcomes. The findings reveal significant positive associations between engagement with local culture, participation in cultural tourism activities, and tourists' perceptions of destination quality and reputation. Cultural tourism activities emerge as key drivers of destination quality, while engagement with local culture positively influences destination reputation. Abstract
