Abstract

The process of selecting the best teachers is an important aspect of ensuring optimal quality of education in a school. However, the selection process for the best teachers at SMPN 5 Kisaran often faces obstacles such as subjectivity, lack of efficiency, and lack of transparency. This research aims to produce a decision support system using the TOPSIS method to increase objectivity and effectiveness in the teacher selection process, as well as contribute to improving the quality of education. This research is a development type using waterfall, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation stages. The analysis stage is to identify system requirements, the design stage is to determine the system interface, the coding stage is to build the system, and the testing stage is to validate its functionality using a black box. Teacher performance data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Teacher performance data will be analyzed using the TOPSIS method, which involves stages of weighting criteria, calculating relative scores, and ranking teachers based on the highest scores. The results of our findings are in the form of a decision support system application for selecting the best teachers. The test results show that this system is running well and by the design and model that has been planned. With this system, it can help SMPN 5 Kisaran in selecting the best teachers.

Abstract

Many patients seek treatment at Dr. Hariyati Wahyuni's clinic for diarrhea pain but there is only one doctor who handles the disease. This condition makes it difficult for the doctor's performance to work optimally due to limited resources in serving patients. To overcome this problem, an expert system is needed where this system can be used to consult diarrhea diseases quickly. The purpose of this research is to create an expert system using the Certainty Factor method. This research is a type of development using the waterfall model with the research stages consisting of analysis, design, implementation and system testing. The analysis stage is carried out to identify the needs used to be applied to this expert system. The design stage consists of usecase design, class diagram and interface design. Implementation and testing are done directly using black box testing to see the extent of the functionality of the system that has been created. The data collection techniques used were interviews and observations. Our findings show that the expert system we developed is an expert system using the web-based Certainty Factor method. This system was also successful in testing using black box testing, all system components have functioned properly so that this expert system can help the Dr. Hariyati Wahyuni Clinic as a system for diagnosing diarrheal diseases quickly and precisely.

Abstract

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Health of Asahan Regency is a government agency that conducts education and health checks for animals. Employee assessment in this department is conducted to determine the quality of staff. However, the current assessment process is still manual using assessment sheets and remains subjective. The aim of this research is to develop a decision support system by applying the Exponential Comparison Method (ECM) to determine the best employees. We utilized the waterfall model to build this system, involving stages of analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The analysis stage was conducted to gather the necessary data for system development, processed using the ECM method. For the design stage, we presented flowcharts, data flow diagrams (DFD), and use case diagrams. In the implementation stage, we developed an application using the web programming language PHP with a MySQL database. System testing employed black box testing to assess the functionality of all system components. Our findings revealed Herman Sitepu as the top-ranking employee. The system, presented as a web application with multiple menus, performed well based on black box testing results. Consequently, this system can be used to evaluate employee performance at the Department of Animal Husbandry and Health of Asahan Regency.
