Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of giving a decoction of binahong leaves (Anredera cardifolia (Ten.) Steenis) on wound healing in mice (Mus musculus). This research was conducted from January to May 2024 at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Mandalika Education University. The method used in this research is an experimental method with the RAL technique (Completely Randomized Design). This study used 7 treatments with 4 replications. The data obtained were analyzed using One-way ANOVA, namely SPSS, and if differences were found between treatment combinations. The results of the research were from boiling binahong leaves for different times from 3 minutes, 6 minutes, 9 minutes, 12 minutes and 15 minutes and added positive control and negative control. There were 28 mice (Mus musculus) used divided into 7 treatments. The mice used were 2 month old males weighing 20-25 grams per head. With the aim of knowing the effect of giving a decoction of binahong leaves (Anredera cardifolia (ten.) Steenis) on wound healing in mice (Mus musculus) and showing the results of several data which are classified as significant, namely H4, H5, H6, H8, H9 and H10 due to low values from 0.05, on H4 the sig value. 0.029<0.05, H5 sig value. 0.004<0.05, H6 sig value.0.020<0.05, H8 sig value. 0.002<0.05, H9 sig value. 0.045<0.05, and H10 sig value. 0.005<0.05 is declared significant, while H7 has a sig value. 0.258>0.05 is not significant. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the P4 treatment on day 10 showed the best results for wound healing in mice (Mus musculus).

Abstract

The existence of urban forests is very important in supporting climate, health and educational facilities in urban areas. The Giong Siu City Forest tourism was born from the creativity of the Babakan community, the Bahana Sustainable Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis). Potential of Giong Siu City Forest as an educational tourism facility. This research really needs to be carried out, considering the function of urban forests which is really needed in educational institutions and the community, more specifically in forestry study programs where one of the subjects is urban forests. The method used is descriptive qualitative, where data collection is carried out by classifying primary data and secondary data. For secondary data, interviews are conducted with managers and visitors as samples which are carried out using the exidential technique, namely collecting as much data as possible from potential and presentative visitors. Data analysis through the existing facilities approach (amenities, accessibility, accommodation, attractions and activities) as a guide in presenting data scientifically and clearly regarding events in the field at the time of the survey (existing conditions) by telling the true conditions of the urban forest. The research results show that 70% of the information obtained from visitors about the existence of the Giong Siu City Forest is from friends, meaning that socialization is still done manually by word of mouth, only 10% is from social media (Instagram) and 20% is from residents who actually live there. around the Giong Siu City Forest. The results of interviews with Giong Siu tourism managers, who more often visit the Giong Siu City Forest, mostly students, students and kindergarten or elementary school children who do outdoor study, Giong Siu is usually busy on Saturday nights and Sundays, because it is not only a place To relax, Giong Siu City Forest itself has prepared several tents and hammocks which have been facilitated by the government for visitors who want to camp. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the Giong Siu City Forest already has various adequate facilities as a recreation area, camping ground, flying fox, prayer room and bathroom. However, there are several shortcomings that the Giong Siu City Forest management must pay attention to, such as the addition of bathroom facilities that do not utilize the empty land that still exists around the Giong Siu City Forest.

Abstract

Indonesia continues to be committed to improving the quality of human resources. This is realized through the Ministry of Education and Culture, which promotes and implements a curriculum that supports learning freedom. The application of this curriculum requires not only theoretical support but also more practical technical support, which cannot be ignored. In this regard, the Mandalika University of Education, especially the biology education department, has held workshops related to technical guidance for implementing the freedom to learn curriculum. However, it is essential to understand that there needs to be more information regarding the readiness of prospective biology teacher students to implement this curriculum. Therefore, this research was conducted to describe the level of readiness of prospective biology teacher students for independent learning. In this research, 53 prospective teacher students were involved voluntarily as respondents, including 42 women and 11 men, consisting of 12 (semester 1), 15 (semester 3), 17 (semester 5), and 9 (semester 7). The instrument used to measure the level of readiness for independent learning was adapted from the self-rating scale of self-directed learning (SRSSDL) questionnaire. Next, data regarding readiness for independent learning was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that 16.98% were not very ready (low or unprepared), 73.58% were not ready (moderate), and 9.43% were ready (high). These results also show that prospective biology teacher students have the same level of readiness for independent learning or that there is no significant difference in readiness for independent learning based on semester differences. Apart from that, of the SRSSDL components, self-awareness and learning activities have the lowest averages (32.51 and 32.09). Thus, our respondents (in this case, prospective biology teacher students) are not ready for independent learning. Regarding what will be done next, can be seen in the conclusions and recommendations section.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of visual comic media on student learning motivation based on different genders. The study applies visual comic media to investigate whether there are differences in learning motivation between male and female students. The activities were conducted at SD Negeri 1 Malaka, North Lombok Regency, involving a total of 45 students. The research utilized a pre-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test design within a single treatment group. The instrument used was a motivation questionnaire based on the ARCS model, covering aspects of attention, relevance, satisfaction, diligence, self-reliance, and self-confidence. The analysis results indicate significant differences in the attention and diligence aspects. Furthermore, female students showed higher motivation compared to male students. These findings indicate that demographic factors such as gender influence responses to learning media such as visual comics. This suggests a need to consider gender factors in the design of visual learning media to achieve maximum effectiveness in learning, particularly in enhancing student learning motivation.

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country that has abundant natural wealth in the form of flora and fauna. One of the fauna that is beneficial to humans is the honey bee. An influential factor in the success of honey bee cultivation is the availability of bee feed in the form of flowering plants. The flowers of these plants contain nectar, pollen, or nectar and pollen which is very influential in honey production. The availability of a 500 m wide yard at the Nurul Islam Sekarbela Islamic Boarding School, Mataram City, is currently only used as a living pharmacy planted with medicinal plants and ornamental plants, such as several types of flowers and there are several large trees such as mango trees as shade trees. Almost all types of flowering plants are a source of bee food, because flowers are pollen producers. This study uses an exploratory method with purposive sampling technique. After determining the sampling point, then the process of identifying what plants were found in the Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School Area was carried out. This identification uses the key to the determination of resin and pollen-producing plants, and is based on related scientific journals. The results of the research that have been carried out obtained 16 types of resin-producing plants, namely: four o'clock flowers, red shoots, sunflowers, turi, purslane, palm, kastuba, miana, longan, mango, rambutan, lime, banana, guava, avocado, and jackfruit. So it can be concluded that the grounds of the Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School can be used as a beekeeping by placing bee stubs in tall trees, away from disturbances from students or the surrounding community.
