Abstract

Learning methods play a vital role in education by helping teachers deliver material effectively. In today’s context, creative learning methods are essential to make lessons more engaging and meaningful. This study focuses on implementing the scramble-type cooperative learning method, integrated with the traditional game "gederek," to improve students’ creative thinking skills in Arabic language classes at MIN 11 Blitar. The study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and impact of this learning method. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research was driven by the issue of monotonous teaching methods, which often lead to student disengagement. To address this, one Arabic teacher applied the scramble method, involving games and group discussions, where students answered Arabic vocabulary questions in a fun and interactive manner. The implementation aligned with the lesson plan and led to positive outcomes. Students were more active, creative, and engaged in collaborative learning, showing an ability to generate original ideas. In conclusion, the scramble-type cooperative learning method proved highly effective at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. It not only enhanced students’ creative thinking skills but also created a more dynamic and enjoyable learning environment. The method successfully met the indicators of creative thinking.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of the Herringbone technique in improving reading comprehension skills among class XI students. The research followed a quasi-experimental design, with an experimental group receiving instruction using the Herringbone technique and a control group receiving traditional instruction. Pre-test and post-test assessments were conducted to measure the participants' reading comprehension abilities. The results indicated a significant improvement in the reading comprehension scores of the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings suggest that the Herringbone technique is more effective than traditional methods in enhancing reading comprehension skills. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of incorporating interactive and collaborative instructional approaches in English language teaching to foster critical thinking and deeper understanding of texts. Future research should explore the long-term effects and applicability of the Herringbone technique in diverse educational contexts. Overall, the Herringbone technique shows promise as an effective approach to enhance reading comprehension instruction and support language development among students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the issues related to the low ability of students in pronouncing letters, words, or sentences in Arabic, especially for beginner learners, to prevent future errors that may hinder the learning process. This study aims to analyze students' errors in reading Arabic texts from a phonological perspective. It is a qualitative research with a descriptive research design. The results of this research are as follows. Firstly, the phonological error forms in Arabic speaking skills among students of the Siraaj Al-Thalibin Islamic boarding school include errors in throat consonant groups (?????) and tongue groups (??????); vowel errors such as vowel deletion, vowel substitution, and long-short vowel errors; diphthong errors; double consonant errors (????); and assimilation errors (??). Secondly, the factors causing errors in Arabic language speaking skills include linguistic and non-linguistic factors. Non-linguistic factors such as low interest and motivation in language learning, and lack of application of the Arabic language.

Abstract

This research seeks to analyze the critical need for developing an Islamic learning theory as a conceptual counterbalance to the prevailing influence of modern learning theories in educational settings, particularly within the context of Islamic Religious Education (IRE). The study adopts a library-based research approach by examining a wide range of scholarly sources, including Islamic education textbooks, national and international academic journal articles, and contemporary discussions addressing modern learning theories and the framework of tarbiyah Islamiyah. The results reveal that while behaviorist, cognitivist, constructivist, and humanist learning theories provide valuable methodological insights for instructional processes, the epistemological foundations upon which they are built largely secular and human-centered do not sufficiently address the spiritual, ethical, and transcendental dimensions that are central to Islamic educational philosophy. In addition, the study highlights a conceptual vacuum within Islamic education caused by the lack of a systematically articulated Islamic learning theory that is firmly rooted in the Islamic worldview, rather than derived through modification of Western theoretical models. Accordingly, this study emphasizes that constructing an Islamic learning theory represents a fundamental theoretical imperative, as it offers a framework that is more consistent with the aims of tarbiyah Islamiyah, particularly the cultivation of insan kamil through the balanced integration of cognitive, affective, spiritual, and moral elements. A well-formulated Islamic learning theory is therefore expected to function as a foundational reference for designing holistic, context-sensitive, and pedagogically coherent learning practices that reflect the distinctive nature of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas perjalanan Mpu Prapañca dalam teks Kakawin Nāgarakṛtāgama. Secara khusus, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur perjalanan Mpu Prapañca dalam Kakawin Nāgarakṛtāgama yakni Reporting the World (Melaporkan Dunia). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, bersifat deskriptif-analisis dengan sumber data teks Kakawin Nāgarakṛtāgama. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode studi dokumen, dibantu teknik membaca dan mencatat. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis, dibantu teknik content analysis (analisis isi) serta dilandasi teori sastra perjalanan. Hasil analisis data disajikan menggunakan metode informal dengan teknik induktif dan deduktif. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur perjalanan Mpu Prapañca yakni Reporting the World (Melaporkan Dunia) meliputi pedesaan, perairan, hutan, dan pegunungan. Perjalanan dilakukan dengan perbedaan bulan dan tahun. Perjalanan pertama, pada bulan pertengahan Agustus-pertengahan September tahun 1281 Saka/1359 Masehi. Perjalanan kedua, pada bulan pertengahan Agustus-pertengahan September tahun 1282 Saka/1360 Masehi. Perjalanan ketiga, pada bulan pertengahan April-pertengahan Mei tahun 1283 Saka/1361 Masehi. Pada tahun 1284 Saka/1362 Masehi dan 1285 Saka/1363 Masehi tidak melakukan perjalanan, dikarenakan terdapat upacara di Kerajaan Majapahit. Perjalanan keempat, pada bulan pertengahan Agustus-pertengahan September tahun 1285 Saka/1363 Masehi. Pada tahun 1286 Saka/1364 Masehi dan 1287 Saka/1365 Masehi tidak melakukan perjalanan dikarenakan terdapat pembagian tugas oleh Raja Hayam Wuruk kepada menterinya di Kerajaan Majapahit.
