Abstract

Introduction: Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism that can accumulate and form monosodium urate crystals in the joints, causing inflammation and pain known as gout arthritis. In elderly individuals, gout arthritis is commonly characterized by elevated uric acid levels accompanied by joint pain, especially in the knees and ankles, stiffness, and discomfort during movement. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of administering clove boiled water in reducing uric acid levels among elderly patients with gout arthritis.Method: This study used a pre-experimental design with a one group pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consisted of 30 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through direct measurement of uric acid levels using the Easy Touch GCU Meter device before and after the administration of clove boiled water for seven days. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis to describe the distribution of uric acid levels and bivariate analysis using the Paired Sample T-Test to determine the effectiveness of the intervention.Result: The results showed a decrease in uric acid levels after the intervention. Statistical analysis using the Paired Sample T-Test demonstrated a significant effect of clove boiled water administration on reducing uric acid levels, with a p-value less than 0.05.Conclusion: Clove boiled water is effective in reducing uric acid levels in elderly patients with gout arthritis. It can be considered as a complementary non-pharmacological therapy alongside pharmacological treatment to help manage uric acid levels.

Abstract

Introduction: The quality of life of adolescents in schools is influenced by not only academic and physical health factors but also emotional, social, and psychological aspects shaped by relationships with peers, teachers, family, and the school environment. Objective: This study aims to map research trends on adolescents' quality of life in schools, identify key journals, and analyze researchers' contributions. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was conducted using data from Scopus, focusing on articles published over the past five years. The analysis includes co-occurrence, co-author, and citation analyses, visualized using VOSviewer and BiblioPlot software. Results: Research in this area has grown significantly, with increased activity in recent years, potentially informing better educational and health policies. Conclusions: Limited scientific collaboration among researchers hinders further progress. An interdisciplinary approach integrating psychology, education, public health, and sociology is crucial to understanding the complex factors impacting adolescents' quality of life, with a growing emphasis on psychosocial factors and mental health.

Abstract

Introduction: The risk of violent behavior is a vulnerability to behavior that shows the potential for physical and emotional harm to oneself, others, and the environment. Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) is a therapy that uses simple finger tapping on specific meridian points of the body to help solve physical and psychological problems. This therapy combines psychological energy with spiritual strength, so that SEFT, in addition to being a healing technique, also automatically leads a person into a spiritual realm that connects them to their God. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of SEFT on the signs and symptoms of the risk of violent behavior in the Women's PHCU Unit. Method: This study used a pre-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test non-equivalent control group design. The study used 17 samples in the intervention group and 17 samples in the control group. This study used Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale - Excited Component (PANSS – EC) to assess signs and symptoms of risk of violent behavior. Result: The results showed a p-value of 0.000 (0.05), indicating that SEFT had an effect on the signs and symptoms of patients at risk of violent behavior. Conclusion: SEFT is very beneficial for reducing the signs and symptoms of patients at risk of violent behavior.
