Abstract

Lot sizing techniques have been widely analyzed by experts, because ordering costs, storage costs, and lot sizes have a significant impact on the total cost of ordering. This study uses lot sizing techniques including Wagner-Whitin algorithm, Silver-Meal algorithm, Least Unit Cost, Least Total Cost, Part Period Balancing, Period Order Quantity, Groff algorithm, and Lot for Lot. The data used is taken from a chemical raw material procurement company, including ordering and storage costs. The initial analysis concluded that the Silver-Meal algorithm and the Groff algorithm have relative biases that are close to the Wagner-Whitin algorithm. The second analysis concluded that for the lot sizing technique, the calculated F value (84.3) was greater than the F table value (2.1), indicating a significant effect of the lot sizing technique on the relative bias percentage. Furthermore, the demand analysis shows that the calculated F value (80.0) is greater than the F table value (2.6), indicating a significant influence of the demand on the percentage relative bias

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Project Quality Management (PQM) in the First Year Inspection (FYI) milestone of the Muara Tawar Add-On Combined Cycle Power Plant (PLTGU) Block 2 project, and to design an integrated business process using the lean construction approach. A mixed-methods research design was applied, combining observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the PQM implementation, based on PMBOK 7 principles—namely Quality Planning, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control—was mostly at a “partial fit” level due to non-standardized documentation and delays in corrective actions. The FYI business process was mapped using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Big Picture Mapping (BPM) to classify value-added (VA), non-value-added (NVA), and necessary non-value-added (NNVA) activities. Of the 23 total activities analyzed, 14 were identified as value-added, while 2 were classified as wasteful. The main causes of inefficiency included waiting time, unnecessary inventory, and excessive transportation. These were mitigated through the integration of collaborative spreadsheets and improved stakeholder coordination. The study emphasizes the importance of having a single source of truth in defect monitoring among project stakeholders (owner, contractor, consultant) to enable better communication and decision-making. Results demonstrate that the resolution of FYI pending items was completed earlier than the planned schedule, validating the effectiveness of integrating lean construction tools to enhance PQM outcomes in power plant construction projects.

Abstract

Lot sizing technique is a method of determining the size of a lot in a procurement process. Lot sizing technique has been extensively analyzed by experts, as ordering costs, holding costs, and lot sizes have a significant impact on the total ordering cost. One of the many lot sizing techniques is the Groff algorithm, which is rarely used. Other lot sizing techniques include the Wagner-Whitin algorithm, Silver-Meal algorithm, Least Unit Cost, Least Total Cost, Part Period Balancing, Period Order Quantity, and Lot for Lot. Simulation data was collected from a real company, including ordering and holding costs, and demand data was generated with four different demand patterns: increasing, decreasing, random, and stationary. The initial analysis concludes that the Silver-Meal algorithm and Groff algorithm have relative biases that are close to the Wagner-Whitin algorithm. The second analysis concludes that for lot sizing techniques, the calculated F-value (84.3) is larger than the table F-value (2,1), indicating a significant influence of lot sizing techniques on the relative bias percentage. Furthermore, the analysis of demand patterns shows that the calculated F-value (80.0) is larger than the table F-value (2,6), indicating a significant influence of demand patterns on the relative bias percentage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality and brand image on repurchase intention of LUTA dehumidifier products distributed by PT. Dwi Mitra Teknindo. The research background is based on the increasing demand for dehumidifiers in Indonesia after the Covid-19 pandemic, along with the challenges faced by the LUTA brand in building a positive image amid consumer perceptions of Chinese-made products. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-causal research design. Data were collected through surveys of LUTA consumers in several major cities in Indonesia and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings indicate that product quality has a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention, both directly and through brand image as a mediating variable. Brand image also plays a crucial role in strengthening consumer loyalty towards LUTA products. These results highlight the importance of improving product quality and enhancing brand image as strategic efforts to retain existing customers and support sustainable business growth.

Abstract

Construction projects often face the risk of delays, which can affect cost, quality, and schedule performance. This research aims to analyze the factors causing delays in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) project in Sumbawa and to formulate improvement recommendations. The research employs the Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with 67 respondents consisting of the project owner, contractor, and supervision consultant. The research variables include design, financial, resources, contractor, material, external, and owner as independent variables and time overrun as the dependent variable. The results show that the external factor has a positive and significant influence on project delays (? = 0.534; p = 0.000), which includes regulatory changes, extreme weather, permit delays, and socio-cultural influences. The owner factor shows a nearly significant effect (p = 0.092), while design, financial, contractor, material, and resource factors have no significant impact. The research model demonstrates good predictive capability (R² = 0.696; Q² = 0.516). Improvement recommendations focus on mitigating external factors, including establishing a legal team to monitor regulations, developing a flexible work schedule adapted to weather conditions, expediting permits through a dedicated liaison officer, and enhancing communication with the local community. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for stakeholders in managing delay risks in similar construction projects.

Abstract

Abstract Dam construction projects face various challenges in supply chain management that can affect the success of the project. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the SCOR Digital Standard (DS) method in improving supply chain performance in the Cijurey Dam Package 1 Project. The research method uses qualitative and quantitative approaches by implementing SCOR Racetrack including the Engage, Define, Analyze, Plan, and Launch stages. The results showed that the baseline performance of RL.2.6 Delivery Performance to Commit Date only reached 73.33% of the target of 90%, Inventory Turnover (ITO) <1.1 times/year of the target ?2 times/year, and Days of Inventory (DOI) reached ±250 days exceeding the maximum target of 180 days. The root of the problem is identified through the 5 Why Analysis and Fishbone Diagram, namely the absence of consignment inventory and regular reconciliation meetings with vendors. The recommended improvement strategies include four improvement projects: Procurement Terms & Conditions Review, Freight Carrier Delivery Performance Evaluation, Regular Reconciliation Meetings, and Consignment Inventory. The implementation of this strategy is projected to increase RL.2.6 to ?90%, reduce the DOI to ?180 days, increase ITO to ?2 times/year, with financial benefits reaching Rp1.29 billion per year.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of project management on machine operational readiness at PT Gallaria Prospera Eterna (PT GPE). Five variables were examined: integration management, time management, cost management, quality management, and resource management. Previous issues, such as project delays and cost overruns, prompted the need for an evaluation of the project management system. A quantitative method was employed, utilizing the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The results indicated that integration management (? = 0.245), time management (? = 0.235), and resource management (? = 0.232) had a significant effect on machine operational readiness. Time and resource management also exhibited positive quadratic effects (QE = 0.170 and QE = 0.181), while cost management had a negative quadratic effect (QE = –0.309). Quality management was found to be statistically insignificant. The R² value of 0.689 and Q² value of 0.567 indicate that the model has strong explanatory and predictive power. The implementation of strategies based on these findings—such as establishing a Project Management Office (PMO), digitalizing project tracking, and strengthening human resources—has successfully improved the execution of the second-phase fermenter machine procurement project, delivering it on time, within budget, and fully operational.
