Abstract

This study examines the influence of financial literacy and financial technology on students' financial behavior, with self-control serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative research design was employed, involving 160 students from private universities in Surabaya. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire (1–5) and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The results revealed that financial literacy significantly enhances self-control, which in turn positively influences financial behavior. Financial technology also positively impacts self-control, albeit to a lesser degree. Self-control fully mediates the relationship between financial literacy and financial behavior and partially mediates the effect of financial technology. These findings underscore the critical role of self-control in shaping responsible financial practices among students, emphasizing the need for integrated educational and technological strategies to improve financial behavior.

Abstract

This study explores the determining factors for the success of digital financial inclusion in industrial estates in Indonesia, focusing on technological infrastructure, regulatory environment, financial literacy, and socio-economic characteristics. A quantitative approach was employed, using a sample of 86 respondents from various industrial estates across Indonesia. Data were collected through a structured survey with a Likert scale (1-5) and analyzed using SPSS version 25. The findings reveal that technological infrastructure, regulatory environment, and financial literacy are the strongest predictors of the success of digital financial inclusion, with socio-economic characteristics also playing a significant, though weaker, role. The regression model explained 69% of the variance in the success of digital financial inclusion. The study emphasizes the need for improved infrastructure, supportive government policies, and financial literacy programs to enhance the adoption and effectiveness of digital financial services. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and business leaders seeking to foster greater financial inclusion in industrial estates.

Abstract

Global economic uncertainty, heightened by events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and volatile commodity prices, has reshaped the dynamics between dividend policy and firm value. This article review synthesizes studies published from 2020 onward that investigate how dividend payout decisions influence firm valuation across diverse industries and markets during periods of heightened uncertainty. The review highlights that while traditional dividend theories such as signaling, bird-in-hand, and agency cost hypotheses remain relevant, recent evidence suggests that market reactions to dividend changes have become more sensitive to macroeconomic volatility and investor sentiment. Many firms facing liquidity constraints opted for dividend cuts or suspensions, which often triggered negative short-term valuation effects but supported long-term resilience and investment capacity. Conversely, firms maintaining stable dividends tended to signal financial robustness, mitigating investor anxiety and enhancing firm value despite uncertain conditions. The review also identifies moderating roles of corporate governance, ownership structure, and ESG practices in shaping this relationship. By integrating these findings, the article underscores the importance for managers and policymakers to adapt dividend strategies to evolving global risks, balancing shareholder returns with financial flexibility and sustainable growth objectives.

Abstract

The pandemic situation has suppressed various businesses in Indonesia and has provided opportunities for business actors to practice window dressing for present good company performance. The practice of window dressing is an example of financial statement fraud. Therefore, to anticipate this fraud, it is very important to examine the factors that cause companies to commit financial statement fraud. This study aims to analyze the fraud hexagon theory and its relationship with financial statement fraud. The research was conducted on state-owned companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the last 5 years (2016-2020). The method used to test the hypothesis is log-regression analysis. The results of the study prove that external pressure as a proxy for stimuli, CEO duality as a proxy for collusion, and the nature of the industry as the proxied opportunity have predictive relevance to financial statement fraud. Even though from ten hypotheses only three hypotheses are proved, this result implied that when companies face a difficult situation and cannot achieve their financial target and they have the opportunity to change their financial records, it is very probable that they will conduct a financial statements fraud. Thus, the government needs to monitor and make policies to prevent this conduct for state-owned companies and other companies listed in IDX

Abstract

The banking industry serves a crucial role in the economy. Unpredictable conditions, such as the Covid-19 outbreak, have had a widespread effect on global health as well as banking. This study is to analyze the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on solvency (CAR), profitability (ROA and NIM), and efficiency (OEOI), liquidity (LDR), and risk profile (NPL) of Commercial Conventional Banks in Indonesian. This study is a quantitative research with a descriptive approach. Secondary data from Indonesian Banking Statistics were used in this study. Data was collected 8 months before the pandemic Covid-19 (July 2019 - February 2020) and 8 months (April 2020 - November 2020) after the first case of Covid-19 was recorded in Indonesia on March 2, 2020. The finding of this study revealed that there was a significant difference in term of profitability, efficiency, liquidity, and credit risk of Commercial Conventional Banks before and after Covid 19. Meanwhile the level of solvency was not significantly different. However, the overall performance of Commercial Conventional Banks remains at a healthy level. As the pandemic is ongoing and continues to affect on the economy, our suggestion that banking resilience should be strictly monitored in the coming years.
