Abstract

Since its establishment in the 13th century, Islamic boarding schools have played a key role in deradicalization using the exegesis of the Qur'an in Indonesia. The diversity of Islamic boarding schools is the result of the creativity of the ulama in acculturating the culture of the local Muslim community with the kyai as the main driver. As an Islamic educational institution, Islamic boarding schools integrate with the community in performing spiritual worship, educating, and integrating normative culture in religion. Islamic boarding schools create a harmonious, pluralist, and inclusive Muslim community. Nowadays, Islamic boarding schools face accusations from the West as an institution that produces radicals and terrorists. Bombings in Indonesia are mostly done by alumni of Islamic boarding schools. Bomb documents from JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels belonging to Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) contain information that 141 Islamic boarding schools and 388 Islamic leaders have joined JI. This study aims to complement the shortcomings of existing studies by highlighting the role of Islamic boarding schools in deradicalization using the exegesis of the Qur’an for students in Central Java so that they can avoid radicalism and terrorism. This study is crucial to answer negative accusations against Islamic boarding schools and encourage the creation of moderate exegeses. To elaborate on this effort, the researcher uses the social dialectical theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann, the concept of non-violent Islam from Abdurrahman Wahid, and the concept of Zamakhsyari Dhofier's Islamic boarding schools using socio-anthropological perspectives.

Abstract

In Indonesia, education is no longer purely a public good because some of it has been privatized by the government, so that people can no longer get it for free. It can be seen from the large number of private schools not only from local origins, but many international schools have been established in Indonesia, and also occur in various countries. This type of research is qualitative research using documentation study data collection methods in the form of relevant books and journals. Data analysis techniques start from data collection, data reduction, presentation and discussion of data then conclusions are drawn. The result of this research is that education can be a public good and can be a private good. Education as a public good because its provision is free, universal and equal access is the basis for producing other public goods. Education as a private good because of a necessity there is competition in getting a decent education. The competition must be purely a competition of intelligence and intellect, not a competition for money or position.

Abstract

Abstract

This banknote denomination and authenticity detection system was designed using an Arduino Uno Atmega 328P microcontroller as the main controller. Two sensors were employed: Sensor A (RGB) to read the color patterns of banknotes for denomination classification, and Sensor B combined with an ultraviolet lamp to verify the presence of security features. The data processing flow is sequential: the denomination is first recognized through RGB analysis, followed by authenticity verification under UV detection. The results are delivered through an audio output, announcing the denomination if the banknote is genuine, or issuing a warning “banknote not detected” if it is counterfeit. The evaluation of the system focused on two main parameters: security and efficiency. Security was measured by the accuracy in distinguishing genuine from counterfeit banknotes, the error rate (false positives and false negatives), and the reliability of the audio output in conveying the correct information. Efficiency was assessed in terms of system response time from banknote input to audio output, the success rate of correct denomination recognition, and the ease of use for visually impaired users.
