Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the availability and use of Educational Game Tools (APE) in the center of religious moral development in Early Childhood Education Institution (PAUD) in Indonesia. The data used comes from the 2022 National APE Availability Dapodik system, which records information related to the availability of APE in various provinces. The findings show that APE that focuses on morals and religion (Imtaq) has a lower level of availability compared to other types of APE, with significant differences between regions. Central Java Province recorded the highest number of Imtaq APE, while provinces such as Gorontalo, Riau Islands, Maluku, and Southeast Sulawesi showed very limited availability. In addition, the results of the study showed that private kindergartens tend to have more Imtaq APE than public kindergartens, indicating different priorities in the procurement of learning tools. Various challenges, including teachers' lack of understanding of the use of APE in religious learning, limited school budgets, and the lack of policies supporting the procurement of APE based on morals and religion, were identified in this study. Although APE has a crucial role in learning religious values ​​from an early age, its availability still needs to be improved. Therefore, this study recommends policy support, training for teachers, and innovation in the development of APE Imtaq to improve the effectiveness of religious moral learning for early childhood in Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the "One Week One Story" program in enhancing the communication skills of Group A children at TK Al-Qur’an, Anambas Regency. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over two cycles. The subjects of this study were 9 students, consisting of 4 boys and 5 girls. Data were collected through systematic observation and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The results indicated a significant improvement in children's communication skills at each stage. In the pre-cycle stage, communication skills were distributed between the "Poor" category (21% - 40%) for 4 children and the "Fair" category (41% - 60%) for 5 children. Following the intervention in Cycle I, student performance improved, with 3 children reaching the "Fair" category (41% - 60%) and 6 children achieving the "Good" category (61% - 80%). The progress culminated in Cycle II, where a substantial increase was observed: 3 children remained in the "Good" category (61% - 80%), while 6 children reached the "Excellent" interval (81% - 100%). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the consistent implementation of the "One Week One Story" program is effective in optimizing communication skills in early childhood.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah metode bermain peran dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi bahasa anak usia 5–6 tahun di RA Baiturrahman, Kecamatan Kandis. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya tingkat perkembangan literasi bahasa anak, yang ditunjukkan oleh data awal sebesar 37,13%, dengan kategori belum berkembang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 17 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi, dengan analisis data melalui teknik persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode bermain peran mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi bahasa anak. Pada siklus I, aktivitas guru dalam pelaksanaan metode bermain peran memperoleh skor 84,1% (kategori cukup baik), meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 85,1% (kategori baik). Aktivitas anak juga meningkat, dari 78,8% (kategori baik) pada siklus I menjadi 103,2% pada siklus II. Kemampuan literasi anak juga menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan: dari data awal 37,13%, menjadi 50,6% pada siklus I pertemuan pertama, 54,6% pada pertemuan kedua, 66,8% pada siklus II pertemuan pertama, dan mencapai 96,7% pada pertemuan kedua, dengan kategori berkembang sesuai harapan.Disarankan agar guru secara konsisten menerapkan metode bermain peran dalam proses pembelajaran untuk mendorong perkembangan bahasa anak secara menyenangkan dan aktif. Metode ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan literasi bahasa anak usia dini melalui interaksi sosial dan pengalaman bermain yang bermakna.

Abstract

This quantitative experimental study aims to analyze the effect of the Solite Kids Game application on the cognitive development of 5–6 year old children at Umma Zahra Kindergarten, who were previously identified as having difficulties in recognizing number and letter symbols. Through testing of 15 samples using a pre-test and post-test design processed with a paired sample t-test (SPSS), a significant increase in the average value of cognitive development was found from 16.27 to 25.60. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-count value of 11.377 > t-table 2.144, so it can be concluded that the use of the Solite Kids Game application effectively improves children's cognitive abilities significantly, especially in the aspect of symbolic thinking abilities. It is recommended to integrate the Solite Kids Game application as an interactive learning medium to optimize children's cognitive aspects through appropriate guidance, so that play activities remain directed and educational according to their developmental stage.

Abstract

Low numeracy literacy skills in early childhood, such as difficulty recognizing number symbols and quantity concepts, pose a challenge in preparing for primary education. This study aims to improve the numeracy literacy skills of children aged 5–6 years through the use of Pop-Up Book media. The research method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. The subjects were 19 children at KB Kasih Bunda, Indragiri Hilir. Data were collected through observation sheets, documentation, and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive comparative analysis. The results showed a significant increase in each cycle. In the pre-cycle stage, children's average ability ranged from 30%–45%. After the implementation of Pop-Up Book media, the scores increased to 50%–68% in Cycle I and peaked at 80%–90% in Cycle II. Beyond cognitive aspects, children's learning enthusiasm also increased to 85%. It is concluded that Pop-Up Book media is effective in improving early childhood numeracy literacy by providing interactive and concrete visualizations. This media is recommended as an innovative learning tool to support holistic cognitive development in children.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of developing early childhood numeracy skills through concrete and sustainable media. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of ecobrick activities in stimulating children's numeracy skills, analyze their impact, and identify challenges and opportunities in their implementation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and documentation of children's activities when processing plastic waste into ecobricks. The results of the study show that ecobrick activities significantly stimulate children's numeracy skills through three main aspects: 1) The use of numbers and symbols, where children learn to recognize and count the number of bottles and garbage concretely; 2) Contextual problem solving, through estimation of material needs and comparison of sizes (weight and length); and 3) Simple data-driven decision-making in project work. The main challenge found is the consistency of material availability, while the opportunity lies in the integration of environmental education in the PAUD curriculum. In conclusion, ecobricks are effective as an interactive numeracy learning medium while instilling the character of caring for the environment from an early age.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh permainan lompat geometri terhadap kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia 4–5 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experimental design) dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan motorik kasar anak pada kelompok eksperimen setelah diberikan perlakuan permainan lompat geometri. Nilai rata-rata post-test kelompok eksperimen 52.25 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok control 43.5. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan nilai signifikansi p < 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan permainan lompat geometri terhadap kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia 4–5 tahun. Dengan demikian, permainan lompat geometri dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif kegiatan pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak usia dini.

Abstract

Penelitian Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 4–5 tahun dalam mengenal bentuk geometri melalui metode Make A Match di PAUD Ar-Rahman Desa Tanah Bekali Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal bentuk geometri yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya minat dan keterlibatan anak dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 16 anak usia 4–5 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, di mana setiap siklus terdiri dari tiga kali pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi kemampuan kognitif anak dan lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan anak. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan kategori perkembangan BB, MB, BSH, dan BSB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Make A Match dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal bentuk geometri. Dengan demikian, metode Make A Match dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang efektif dan menyenangkan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia dini.

Abstract

Guru memegang peran sentral dalam menanamkan sikap disiplin pada anak usia dini sebagai fondasi pembentukan karakter, dengan metode time out sebagai teknik utama berupa pemberian waktu jeda untuk menenangkan diri dan merefleksikan perilaku tidak sesuai. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya mengoreksi perilaku negatif, tetapi juga membangun kontrol diri dan tanggung jawab melalui pendampingan edukatif serta sinergi konsisten antara sekolah dan orang tua. Penelitian ini menggali implementasi metode time out dalam membentuk disiplin anak di PAUD Harapan Bunda, Desa Pulau Tengah, Kecamatan Pangean, Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi, beserta faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Tujuannya adalah mengidentifikasi proses penerapan metode tersebut dan faktor-faktor pengaruhnya. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpul melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dari kepala sekolah, guru, serta anak. Hasil menunjukkan guru menerapkan time out secara terstruktur: pemberian peringatan, penempatan di area tenang, diikuti bimbingan dan kasih sayang. Indikator disiplin yang terbentuk meliputi kepatuhan aturan kelas, pengendalian emosi, dan tanggung jawab tugas. Faktor pendukung mencakup keteladanan guru, lingkungan nyaman, serta komunikasi efektif. Penghambat meliputi inkonsistensi pola asuh keluarga, pengaruh lingkungan luar sekolah, dan pemahaman terbatas orang tua terhadap metode ini. Secara keseluruhan, penerapan time out yang konsisten dan penuh empati terbukti efektif membentuk disiplin positif pada anak usia dini.

Abstract

The creativity development of children aged 4–5 years in visual arts activities at KB Bhakti Pertiwi, Kampar Kiri Hilir Subdistrict, has not developed optimally, as indicated by the children’s continuing difficulties in expressing ideas and imagination through drawing, coloring, and pasting activities. This study aims to describe teachers’ strategies in developing children’s creativity through visual arts activities. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of 13 children aged 4–5 years, with two main informants, namely the principal and the classroom teacher. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that teachers’ strategies in developing children’s creativity were implemented through three main stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. At the planning stage, the teacher prepared the RPPH, media, and interesting visual arts materials that were appropriate to the children’s characteristics. At the implementation stage, the teacher gave children the freedom to express themselves through drawing, coloring, and collage activities without pressure, accompanied by motivation and positive support. At the evaluation stage, the teacher assessed the process and the children’s work results and provided appreciation for every effort made. The research findings showed that most children were in the categories of Developing as Expected and Developing Very Well. Thus, learning strategies that provide freedom of expression, emotional support, and the use of varied art media contribute to the optimal development of early childhood creativity.
