Abstract

This study examines derivational and inflectional affixation in the article “How Wildfires Are Changing the Face of Mediterranean Landscapes.” Morphology, a field of linguistics, studies how words are formed and how morphemes create new meanings and grammatical structures. This study identifies and analyzes the types and patterns of affixes in the article and their role in meaning and grammar. By using qualitative methods, 53 derivational affixes and 76 inflectional affixes were found. Derivational affixes, such as prefixes (re-, un-) and suffixes (-ion, -ly), often change the word class, thus expanding the vocabulary. Inflectional affixes, such as -s, -ed and -ing, provide grammatical details without changing the core meaning of the word. Inflectional affixes appear more frequently in articles, showing their importance in grammar, while derivational affixes add depth and variety. This study highlights how affixation helps convey scientific and narrative information effectively. This research contributes to linguistic research and offers insights for writers and editors in creating clear and engaging content.

Abstract

This research looks at the morphological elements of Katy Perry's Prism album lyrics, focusing on derivational and inflectional morphemes. Morphology is a branch of linguistics that focuses on the role of morphemes in language and examines the structure, meaning, and creation of words. With 33 occurrences, the most common derivational suffix, according to the data, is -ing. -ly (8 instances), un- (4), -y (3), and -er (2) come after it. Less frequent suffixes, such -ary, -ity, and others, only occur once each. The most frequent prefix is un-, which appears six times, while in-(2) and uni-(1) are less frequent. The most frequent inflectional morphemes are plural forms and past participles, which occur 18 times each, showing how important they are in showing multiplicity and completed actions. Comparative degrees appear 6 times, and the past tense is used 7 times, further indicating the richness of grammatical forms that the album expresses. The results reveal the linguistic diversity of PRISM's song lyrics, which deliver the messages of relationships, self-determination, and living in the present through a harmony of derivational and inflectional processes. This research contributes to our understanding of how morphological elements enhance the literary works and promote vocabulary acquisition through song lyrics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic management approach of PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Tbk in improving financial health and realizing the new vision established in 2025. The method used is qualitative descriptive with secondary data analysis from financial reports, OJK publications, and other relevant documents. The result shows, the bank faced significant challenges in the initial years following the new vision’s launch, particularly in the indicators of NPF (2.34%), BOPO (105%), and ROA (0.3%), although CAR (15%) and FDR (82%) remained relatively strong. Strategic management was applied through strengthening risk management, operational efficiency via digitalization, sharia product innovation, and internalization of blessing values as part of the organizational culture. The study’s limitations include a greater focus on quantitative data than qualitative data and a case study limited to a single institution, requiring caution in drawing conclusions. Future research is recommended to use mixed methods and compare practices with other sharia banks so that, evaluation and benchmarking is believed to enhance Bank Muamalat’s competitiveness and sustainability.
