Abstract

Laboratories that meet ergonomic standards will support the learning process, both academically and technically, to facilitate the growth and development of skills. This study aims to uncover and provide an overview and information about laboratory ergonomics standards which include thermal comfort (temperature), workspace laboratory lighting. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method carried out in the Machine Tool Unit Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education with a population of 60 students who are carrying out practicum. Techniques using direct observation and measurement. Lux Meter to measure lighting and then Digital Thermometer which functions to measure temperature at the observation point in the laboratory. Data collection starting at 07.00 until 12.00 and in the afternoon starting from 13.00 to 16.00, which is the time to do work activities. Measurements made at ten observation points the results showed that; (1) thermal comfort (temperature) with a value of 30.44 degrees Celsius, while the ideal practical standard ranges from 24 ? 27 degrees Celsius; (2) Lighting with a value of 422.14 Lux while the ideal practice standard ranges from 500 ? 1000 Lux. These results indicate that there is a tendency for temperature and lighting in laboratory rooms under conditions that are less than the standard set. To increase work productivity, these factors can cause less concentration and stress at work.

Abstract

Someone will learn better if the person concerned understands his character in learning. Individuals in learning have various ways; some learn by listening, some learn by reading, and some learn by discovering. These diverse ways of learning by students are known as learning styles. Kolb's learning style is divided into four types, namely converge, assimilator, diverge, accommodator. The purpose of the study was to determine the profile of student learning styles of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Makassar, which is divided into 9 (nine) study programs. Samples taken with an error rate of 5 percent were 177 students. Purposive sampling is used as a sampling technique with special considerations so that it is feasible to be used as a sample. The research measures four types of learning styles, namely Active Experimentation (AE), Concrete Experience (CE), Reflective Observation (RO), and Abstract Conceptual (AC). The results showed that the accommodator learning style was more dominant in students. Of the eight majors that became the research subjects, seven tended to the accommodator learning style, and only one tended to the assimilator learning style. The accommodator learning style combines the poles of active experimentation (doing) and concrete experience (feeling). The use of learning methods following the learning style is Problem-Based Learning which involves all students in the learning process.

Abstract

The primary objective of this research is to thoroughly investigate the intricate dynamics and collective influence of essential elements within the e-learning domain. Examining the interdependencies and combined effects of technology system quality, information quality, and support services on user satisfaction. This study investigates the key factors affecting user satisfaction in e-learning at Universitas Negeri Makassar, focusing on the roles of Information Quality, System Quality, and Service Quality. Survey data from 231 diverse students were analyzed using a Likert scale questionnaire, with Structural Equation Modeling via IBM AMOS. The findings aim to reveal how these quality dimensions impact user satisfaction, potentially guiding enhancements in e-learning system design. A comprehensive study examining e-learning systems conclusively found that System Quality, Information Quality, and Service Quality are pivotal factors influencing user satisfaction. Improving system functionality, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of information, and delivering high-quality service were all significantly correlated with higher satisfaction levels among users. This underscores the critical need for educational institutions to prioritize these aspects to enhance the e-learning experience. The research presents strong evidence that educational institutions can significantly boost user satisfaction by focusing on the quality of the system, information, and services provided in e-learning platforms. These findings provide actionable insights for decision-makers in the education sector, suggesting that investments in these areas will likely yield positive outcomes in user engagement and satisfaction with e-learning systems.

Abstract

Damage to coastal ecosystems due to abrasion, land conversion, and environmental pollution is a serious issue that threatens the sustainability of natural resources and the livelihoods of coastal communities. One effective solution to address this problem is the planting of mangroves, which serve as natural protectors of coastlines, habitats for marine life, and carbon sinks. The Community Service Kegiatan (PKM) aims to plant 1000 mangrove trees in the Klawalu Mangrove Tourism Park, Sorong City, as part of efforts to rehabilitate the environment and strengthen community-based ecotourism. This activity is conducted in several stages, namely socialization and education for the surrounding community, mapping and analysis of land conditions, selection and planting of mangrove seedlings, as well as monitoring and evaluation of plant growth. Community participation, especially from fishermen and tourist groups, is the key to the success of this kegiatan. The results of the activity indicate that mangrove planting not only provides ecological benefits, such as reducing erosion and enhancing biodiversity, but also has socio-economic impacts by increasing tourist attraction and environment-based economic opportunities. With this kegiatan, it is hoped that public awareness of the importance of mangrove conservation will increase, and it will also have a long-term impact on the balance of coastal ecosystems. Furthermore, the success of this kegiatan can serve as a model for other regions in implementing ecotourism-based environmental rehabilitation and community empowerment.
