Abstract

Background Stunting remains a major public health concern in many low- and middle-income countries, with long-term consequences for cognitive development, educational achievement, and economic productivity. Midwives, particularly in decentralized health systems like posyandu in Indonesia, play a vital role in early prevention efforts. However, limited research has explored their contextualized contributions within community-based health services. Objective This study aimed to explore the strategic roles of midwives in preventing stunting, focusing on their functions as healthcare providers, educators, and community facilitators. Methods A qualitative phenomenological study was conducted involving six community midwives selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. Triangulation was performed using additional informants including coordinating midwives, nutritionists, and community health workers. Results Four primary themes emerged: (1) midwifery care in stunting prevention; (2) community engagement and educational activities; (3) communication and health promotion strategies; and (4) identification of local health issues. Midwives were actively involved in growth monitoring, nutrition counseling, home visits, and cross-sectoral collaboration. Challenges included low community participation, persistent stigma, and limited awareness about stunting. Conclusion Community midwives play a strategic role in stunting prevention through education, early detection, and collaborative community engagement. Strengthening their communication skills, cultural competence, and integration with local stakeholders is essential for optimizing the impact of stunting prevention programs and ensuring sustainable public health outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the application of mHealth technologies in antenatal care for high-risk pregnancies in developing countries, emphasizing their potential to enhance maternal health service quality. By leveraging the PRISMA-ScR checklist and PCC framework, a scoping review of 858 articles from PubMed, ScienceDirect, EBSCO, and Google Scholar identified 13 relevant studies. Key themes include the types of mHealth utilized (mobile apps, SMS, phone calls, and web-based platforms), their benefits (screening, monitoring, health education, and complication reduction), improvements in antenatal care (innovative care models, increased visit frequency, reduced risks, and better pregnancy outcomes), and their role in supporting high-risk pregnancies (emotional support, risk education, and clinical decision-making). The findings highlight mHealth's potential to address healthcare disparities and provide cost-effective solutions in resource-constrained settings. Moreover, mHealth offers promising contributions to achieving maternal health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, notably by improving access to quality care, reducing maternal and neonatal risks, and mitigating healthcare inequities. However, further research is required to evaluate the long-term effects, scalability, and sustainability of mHealth initiatives in the developing countries.  Keywords: Mobile Health; Telemedicine; Maternal Health; High-Risk Pregnancy; Developing Countries

Abstract

The infant mortality rate in Indonesia is now around 30 babies in every 1000 live births and around 5% of deaths are caused by infectious diseases related to low immunity in babies due to lack of breast milk intake. This scoping review aims to review the evidence base regarding the experiences of mothers in providing exclusive breastfeeding. Method: the writing structure of this scoping review uses the PRISMA-ScR Checklist according to Arksey and O'Malley with five stages. Article search uses three databases including PubMed, Wiley Online library, google scholar and sciencedirect. Inclusion criteria, the criteria included in this review, were Indonesian or English articles published in the last 5 years and articles focused on mothers' experience in providing exclusive breastfeeding. Of the 195 articles that had been searched and selected, there were 6 articles that met the inclusion criteria in this review and two themes were found, namely, knowledge and support for exclusive breastfeeding. From several articles obtained during the research, it was found that mothers experience difficulty in breastfeeding, feel anxious, and have social stigma. Despite the delay, feeding, social and psycho-social support helped mothers cope.

Abstract

Nutrition issues, particularly stunting, have become the focus of global attention due to their serious impact on children's health and development. Stunting, or chronic growth impairment, can have long-term consequences on children's physical and mental health, and even affect the productivity and well-being of society as a whole. In the midst of this complex challenge, the role of mothers as the primary caregiver and decision-maker when it comes to family diets is crucial. Therefore, it is important to evaluate and understand the effect of nutrition education on mothers' knowledge of stunting, in the hope of providing deeper insights to support stunting prevention efforts. This study aims to explore the effect of nutrition education on mothers' knowledge about stunting. This study employs a scoping review method with a systematic approach.

Abstract

Computer technology is currently used as a tool to support educational activities and assist teachers in quickly, precisely, and accurately processing student data. The Qur'an has been memorized by many students at MAN 1 Bukittinggi as a result of long-running Tahfidz activities, which have also helped them stand out in teaching and learning evaluation meetings held at the end of each semester. In conveying the activities which take place in the field, the Tahfidz teacher has not used real data and certainly will not describe the real state of Tahfidz activity and student memorization. The solution to this problem is applying the Data Mining technique for grouping data of Tahfidz activity and student learning outcomes, in order to discover the correlation between the two and whether there is any effect or not. The data processed in this research is Tahfidz activity data and student learning outcomes data for class XI (eleven) sourced from piles of data, the data used are Tahfidz memorization data, Tahfidz scores, and student grades at MAN 1 Bukittinggi. The data mining development methodology used in this research is Cross-Industry Standart Process for Data Mining (CRIPS-DM). The results of the research by applying the K-Means Clustering algorithm has produced two clusters. The first cluster shows the characteristic that Tahfidz activity doesn’t have significant effect on student learning outcomes. The second cluster shows the characteristics that Tahfidz activity has a significant effect on student learning outcomes.  The data from the clustering of each cluster is then analyzed and the results of the cluster analysis are used by the school as a consideration in evaluating Tahfidz activity and learning outcomes whether it has been effective or not at MAN 1 Bukittinggi.
