Abstract

The main character education for a child is the family environment. A child's character can be determined through the parenting style applied by his parents. Basically, each family's parenting style varies from one family to another. Differences in parenting styles in families make each individual or child have a different character. This research aims to describe the parenting patterns applied by parents in shaping children's Islamic character. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data sources were taken from six informants consisting of parents and children, with data collection techniques using interview and observation methods. Overall, the results of the analysis show that there are many factors that influence parents' parenting patterns in cultivating their children's Islamic character at home, namely the level of parental understanding of religious knowledge, the level of parental education, and the environment.

Students in the Department of Guidance and counseling are prospective education counselors who need to be given information about the use of internet technology that is good and right. The attitude of student responsibility needs to be known by educators so that educators can provide services to instill the attitude of student responsibility in the use of internet technology. This study aims to see the responsible attitude of prospective counselors in the use of internet technology in students of Guidance and Counseling. Research conducted through a qualitative approach, which refers to the case study research design. Potential Guidance and Counseling teachers who are also prospective counselors at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and teacher training at UIN Raden Intan Lampung became the subject of research. The research data were analyzed in a descriptive thematic way using Nvivo software. The results showed that there were still students who were not responsible for utilizing internet technology properly. Educators must provide motivation and direct students to have a more responsible attitude to use the Internet as a student's responsibility

Abstract

The development of Islamic-based learning models and pictures media recently has become the focus of research in Indonesia, especially the integration between the values of science and religion. This study aimed to develop pictures of media based on Islamic values in Biology learning for high school students. The research and development procedures proposed by Borg & Gall and ADDIE model proposed by Kurt which had been modified into the ISI-ARE (Investigate, Strategy, Improve, Assessment, Realization, and Estimation) model was used as the research method. The data was collected through investigations and questionnaire validation by four experts (material, media, language, and religion). The investigation questionnaire and a media feasibility response questionnaire were distributed to two experienced biology teachers and 20 tenth-grade students (10 males and 10 females). The results showed that the media, religion, and language experts stated that the developed Islamic-based pictures media was highly feasible to be used with the obtained percentage of 90.30 %, 83.70 %, and 81.50 %. However, the material experts rated the media as feasible (75.00 %) and the teachers and students respectively rated the media as highly feasible with a percentage of 75.40 % and 87.20 %. This study illustrates that the Islamic values-based pictures media can be used as an alternative in biology learning.

Abstract

In the school-based education system, educators often prioritize cognitive development over students' emotional development. It is crucial to instill good character in children from a young age as it influences them well into adulthood. Research indicates that the RSMC method is effective for nurturing early childhood character traits. This study examines the application of the RSMC method in Kindergarten, using a single case design with a holistic approach. Data collection methods included observation, interviews with an experienced educator, and documentation of lesson plans and curriculum structures. The Milles and Hubermen interactive model was employed for data analysis, involving descriptive data collection, data reduction, and data presentation to draw conclusions. The findings suggest that the RSMC approach, comprising Scheduled Routine Activities (R), Unscheduled Spontaneous Activities (S), Modelling and Giving Examples (M), and Environmental Conditioning (C), effectively fosters character development in daily activities. This method can assess changes in students' behavior resulting from specific stimuli and responses. Therefore, the RSMC method developed in this study offers a viable option for early childhood character cultivation. Further research should explore the long-term effectiveness of different positive bias methods for character education in early childhood.

Abstract

This study is aimed at describing the implementation of Tartil method as an alternative to eliminate Alquran illiteracy among elementary school students. The study was conducted through two phases of explanatory mixed methods designs. Quantitative method was applied in the first phase (true experiment; pretest-post test one group design) involving 78 pupils of two schools who were Qur’an illiterate. Qualitative method was applied in the last phase (multi case-multi site case study design) involving 13 pupils and 2 teachers who implemented the method in their classroom. Data of the first phase was collected through oral test analyzed through descriptive statistics of SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) Windows 18.0. Further, the second phase data was collected through in depth interview thematically analyzed by Nvivo 8. The findings of the study indicate the improvement of students’ ability in reading Qur’an after Tartil method was implemented (57.57% Good & 42.43 % Moderate). Data of the second phase implies that the success of the method is pursuant to four prominent factors, namely; (i) the method is truly enjoyable, understandable, simple and practical, (ii) the materials are systematically and precisely presented, (iii) the materials are easy to remember as they are colorful, (iv) it is possible to teach the students how to read Qur’an in murotal way through this method.
