Abstract

Burn injuries are emergencies that pose a severe threat and require immediate action to save lives. The saponins, tannins, alkaloids, and flavonoids in iodine leaf latex gel (Jatropha multifida Linn) are known to speed up the healing process for burn wounds. The research aimed to investigate the effect of iodin leaf latex gel on the recovery of grade II burn wounds in male mice (Mus musculus Linn). The research employed a true-experimental laboratory method with-a-post-test-only control design group at the Kusuma Husada University Laboratory in Surakarta. A total of 24 test mice were manipulated and divided into three groups: the positive control group, the negative control group, and the iodine leaf latex gel group. Burn wounds utilized a 1,5 cm superheated mental surface applied to the backs of the mice for 5-10 seconds to induce burn injuries. The observed parameters included the burn wound area, the percentage of burn wound healing, and the duration of burn wound healing. Data analysis operated One-Way ANOVA. The research revealed that iodine leaf latex gel had a restorative time of 8 days and healing percentage of 30,75%. It was better than the other control groups. The statistical analysis indicated significance (<0,05) in the burn wound recovery percentage. In conclusion, a 6% concentration of iodine leaf latex gel had a more favorable effect on burn wound healing than other control groups.

Abstract

Abstract

Quantitative workload can be expressed as the amount of work required to fulfil a patient's medical needs. High-quality workload represents a high level of responsibility in patient care. Nurses' workload is the most important predictor of mental health, stress, job dissatisfaction, fatigue, and the presence of burnout. This service activity aims to provide and increase student knowledge about the Effect of Gender and Years of Service on Work Motivation of Nurses in Hospital Inpatients to Students of the Hospital Administration Study Program, Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Kusuma Husada University, Surakarta by using a pre-experiment design with a research design of one group pretest and post-test design with a total of 35 students and the activity time in May 2024. This service uses quantitative research with multiple linear regression. There is an increase in the knowledge of participants before and after the provision of material marked by the pre-test and post test which shows that the level of knowledge before being given the material is 69% but after being given the material has increased to 89%. There is a significant difference between students' knowledge about gender roles and tenure on nurses' work motivation in hospital inpatient care. Keywords: Workload, Gender, Work motivation, Nurses, Hospitalisation

Abstract

Patient identification is a key component of the six patient safety goals and patient safety is a part of hospital accreditation standards. This study aims to examine the relationship between nurses' knowledge of patient identification and the implementation of patient safety protocols in inpatient settings at Ibu Fatmawati Soekarno Regional General Hospital, Surakarta. The research utilizes a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 42 respondents were selected using total sampling, and data were gathered through questionnaires. The data analysis was performed using the Spearman’s Rho test. The findings indicate that 95.2% of nurses had excellent knowledge, while 4.8% had good knowledge. Regarding the implementation of identification practices, 90.5% were rated as excellent and 9.5% as good. The Spearman’s Rho test revealed a correlation coefficient of 0.000 with p<0.05, indicating a strong positive relationship between nurses’ knowledge and identification practices with a correlation degree of 0.689. This study concludes that the nurses at Ibu Fatmawati Soekarno Regional General Hospital demonstrate excellent knowledge and effectively implement patient identification according to established standards.

Abstract

Community-acquired pneumonia in adult patients contributes to high morbidity and mortality rates. The rationality of antibiotics for community-acquired pneumonia pharmacotherapy can determine the result of patient clinical outcomes. The aim of this study was to determine antibiotics rationality for community-acquired pneumonia in adult inpatients at X Hospital Sukoharjo and relationship between antibiotics rationality and its clinical outcomes. This study was analytical cohort design with retrospective data in the form of patient medical records for the period 2022. Sampling method was carried out using total sampling with inclusion criteria being patients aged ≥ 18 years, male or female, diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia and receiving antibiotic therapy. The total samples was 102 who met the inclusion criteria which 52% was female gender and predominantly aged ≥ 65. The rationality analysis using Gyssens method showed that 29.51% of antibiotics were given rationally with the highest number of irrationalities due to another more effective antibiotics (category IVA) at 54.90%. There was no significant relationship between antibiotic rationality and its clinical outcomes.
