Abstract

The issues examined in this research relates to the ability of students in writing letters of readers about the school environment. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods, and sampling techniques used are random class (cluster random sampling). Engineering data collection using the technique of main performance writing letters readers about the school environment. Technique of data analysis using quantitative analysis with the descriptive approach. Based on research results, gained that ability of students in writing letters of readers about the school environment belongs simply because final value shows number 67. The constraints experienced by students in writing letters of readers about the school environment i.e. students still lack understanding about the reader's letters, and the difficulty of applying aspects of mail readers. The most prominent barriers in writing letters of readers about the school environment experienced by students i.e. difficulty applying the spelling language Indonesia with good and true.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to know and describe the average score of students’ narrative writing ability, and to know and describe whether there is an influence of Summarizing Short Stories towards students’ narrative writing ability at SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in 2020/2021. Most of the students get difficulties in improving their language skills, especially in writing. Writing is a problem in expressing and developing ideas or thoughts into written form. Narrative text is one of kinds of text that should be learned by the students. To solve the problem above, the writer used the technique in teaching narrative writing that is Summarizing Short Stories. In this research, the writer chooses the title: “The Influence of Summarizing Short Stories towards Students’ Narrative Writing Ability at the Second Semester of the Eighth Class at SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in 2020/2021”. In this reseach, the writer analyzed the result by using t-test formula. The research was conducted at the eighth class of SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in 2020/2021. The students of VIIIa were as a sample that were taught by using Summarizing Short Stories. The result of the research showed that there was significant influence of using Summarizing Short Stories towards students’ narrative writing ability. It is shown by the distribution list with df = (n1 + n2 – 2) = (23 + 22 – 2) = 43 obtained ttable t0.95 or significance level of 5% and ttable t0.99 or significance level of 1% was equal to 1.68 and 2.42. there were lower than tcount = 3.84 and the average score of students’ narrative writing ability in experimental class ( =66.58) was higher than the students’ score in control class (: 56.14) at the second semester of the eighth class of SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in 2020/2021.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the implementation of self-distance learning (online) for university students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses library research wherein collecting data information with documentation techniques that are looking for data about relevant matters from various sources in the library such as documents, books, magazines, news. The criteria for the articles and news have chosen were discussion of the impact of COVID-19 and online learning at the tertiary level. From the resources obtained, the most relevant were selected and 15 journals and books items were selected. The results in the study show that the impact of COVID-19 on the implementation of online learning in tertiary institutions can be carried out quite well. This can be seen from the results of data from the journals and books which show that the impact of COVID-19 on the implementation of English self-distance learning (online) in Higher Education can be carried out properly and effectively during learning at home.

Abstract

ABSTRACT - Both in concept and based on the results of previous research, the performance of employees allegedly affected by the performance of technology. One technology that closely with the administrative job is information technology. Furthermore, based on the theory of resource-based, information technology performance is potentially influenced by human resources, business resources, and technological resources. This study tried to assess whether the performance of administrative staff in the Show Room Galaxy Mobil, affected by the performance of information technology, and whether performance is influenced by information technology, human resources, business resources, and technology resources. Through a simple regression analysis, this study found a significant positive influence performance of information technology on the performance of the Show Room Galaxy Mobil administrative employees. Likewise, through multiple regression analysis, the study also found that there are significant positive influence human resources, business resources, and technological resources to the performance of information technology. This research can proceed with more comprehensive, which is based on internal and external review organization. Keywords: employees performance, information technology performance, human resource, business resource, technology resource. Abstrak - Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sebelumnya bahwa kinerja karyawan diduga dipengaruhi oleh kinerja teknologi. Salah satu teknologi yang sangat erat dengan pekerjaan administrasi adalah teknologi informasi. Lebih lanjut, berdasarkan sumber teori,  bahwa kinerja teknologi informasi berpotensi dipengaruhi oleh sumber daya manusia, sumber daya bisnis, dan sumber daya teknologi. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk menilai apakah kinerja pegawai administrasi di Show Room Galaxy Mobil dipengaruhi oleh kinerja teknologi informasi, dan apakah kinerja dipengaruhi oleh teknologi informasi, sumber daya manusia, sumber daya bisnis, dan sumber daya teknologi. Melalui analisis regresi sederhana, penelitian ini menemukan pengaruh positif yang signifikan dari kinerja teknologi informasi terhadap kinerja pegawai administrasi Show Room Galaxi Mobil. Demikian pula melalui analisis regresi berganda, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara sumber daya manusia, sumber daya bisnis, dan sumber daya teknologi terhadap kinerja teknologi informasi. Penelitian ini dapat dilanjutkan dengan lebih komprehensif, yang didasarkan pada review internal dan eksternal organisasi. Kata kunci: kinerja karyawan, kinerja teknologi informasi, sumber daya manusia, sumber daya bisnis, sumber daya teknologi.

Abstract

Kemajuan di bidang teknologi, komputer, dan telekomunikasi mendukung perkembangan teknologi internet. Dengan internet pelaku usaha tidak lagi mengalami kesulitan dalam memperoleh informasi apapun, untuk menunjang aktivitas usahanya, bahkan sekarang cenderung dapat diperoleh berbagai macam informasi. Penggunaan internet oleh UMKM berubah dari fungsi sebagai alat untuk pertukaran informasi secara elektronik menjadi alat untuk aplikasi strategi bisnis, seperti: pemasaran, penjualan, dan pelayanan pelanggan. Pemasaran di Internet cenderung menembus berbagai rintangan, batas bangsa, dan tanpa aturan-aturan yang baku. UMKM menghadapi berbagai permasalahan dalam pemasaran, penjualan, dan pelayanan pelanggan terkait dengan e-commerce, seperti keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan, masalah kepercayaan konsumen, persaingan yang ketat, masalah logistik, dan teknologi yang terus berkembang. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini untuk menciptakan inovasi dalam pemasaran produk-produk UMKM sehingga menjadi produk yang banyak dikenal luas dan dapat meningkatkan omset penjualan. Metode yang dilakukan terdiri dari pelatihan, pendampingan, difusi teknologi dalam pemasaran produk melalui e-commers. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah terciptanya inovasi pemasaran produk UMKM, mitra mendapatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan, hingga diharapkan dapat meninggkatkan penjualan produk secara signifikan.

Abstract

This paper is an effort to explore the impact of technology in the context of Teaching and Learning English to Students as their foreign languages. At first, it analyzes the background of the evolving field of technology in English language learning. Second, it delineates the growth of English through technology. Third, it explains the various necessities of technology in learning English. After that, it highlights the possible disadvantages of technology. Next, it explains the importance of striking a balance between technology and traditional teaching and learning. Finally, the researcher concludes that a judicious and balanced use of technology have a positive impact on learning English as a foreign language. Therefore, technology tools can clearly be effective in improving the students’ language and communication skills as the desired pedagogic outcome in the TESOL classroom.

Abstract

This research aimed to discover the students’ perception and motivation in learning English towards the use of quizizz features for EFL students. The method used in this research was a descriptive qualitative approach. Participants of this research were the students of Bina Sarana Informatika University, and the subject of this research was 42 students of 12.1A.21 class 2022/ 2023. Data collection techniques used were the questionnaire and interview results. Data analysis techniques used were basic statistical techniques of percentages using the Likert-scale questionnaire, and the data was supported from the interview’s results as the secondary data. The results of this research indicated intrinsic and extrinsic factors that influence students to participate in the learning English towards the use of quizizz features which include: 1) Intrinsic factors (challenging, curiosity, learning new things, improving their knowledge and English skill), 2) Extrinsic factors (getting a good mark, gaining good Grade Point Average, and getting experience of using quizizz features). It showed that the EFL Students have a good perception and good motivation in learning English towards the use of quizizz features for EFL students. In conclusion, learning English towards the use of quizizz features for EFL students is good, and this quizizz features can be considered as English learning and practice media, which will be better to combine with the conventional ways in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi strategi metakognitif sebagai strategi yang paling dominan digunakan oleh mahasiswa jurusan Sistem Informasi dengan kemahiran bahasa Inggris yang tinggi. Peneliti menggunakan metodologi deskriptif kualitatif dengan melibatkan 16 responden, yaitu mahasiswa pada jurusan Sistem Informasi yang mempunyai tingkat kemahiran bahasa Inggris yang tinggi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data primer adalah kuesioner SILL (Strategy Inventory for Language Learning). Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa ada empat strategi metakognitif yang secara menonjol dilakukan dalam praktik belajar bahasa Inggris oleh para responden tersebut. Keempat strategi tersebut memiliki persentase tingkat “sering” dalam pemakaian di atas 80%. Pertama, pembelajar bahasa Inggris mencurahkan perhatian ketika seseorang berbicara bahasa Inggris. Kedua, pembelajar bahasa Inggris mencoba menemukan sebanyak mungkin cara untuk mempraktikkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang mereka miliki. Ketiga, pembelajar bahasa Inggris menyadari kesalahan dalam berbahasa Inggris dan menggunakan informasi tersebut untuk meningkatkan kemampuannya. Keempat, pembelajar bahasa Inggris mencoba mencari tahu cara-cara untuk meningkatkan kompetensi bahasa Inggri yang mereka miliki. Namun, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa perencanaan jadwal untuk belajar bahasa Inggris menjadi strategi metakognitif yang jarang diterapkan oleh mahasiswa tersebut yang ditunjukkan dengan persentase “sering” hanya 6%. Untuk meningkatkan validitas temuan, penelitian mendatang disarankan untuk memperluas cakupan sampel responden agar lebih representatif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian selanjutnya dapat memberikan wawasan lebih komprehensif terkait strategi metakognitif dalam konteks belajar bahasa Inggris bagi mahasiswa Sistem Informasi dengan kemahiran bahasa Inggris yang tinggi.

Abstract

Perkembangan informasi teknologi di era saat ini berkembang cukup pesat, penerapan dan penggunaan teknologi juga semakin banyak. Dampak kemajuan teknologi informasi saat ini tentu dapat digunakan dalam berbagai bidang informasi pada proses transaksi. KSM Tirto Wening Desa Kedungjampang merupakan organisasi/lembaga swadaya masyarakat yang bergerak di bidang penyedia air bersih untuk warga sekitar Desa Kedungjampang. Proses pencatatan dan pembayaran pada KSM Tirto Wening masih menggunakan metode manual dengan menggunakan buku pembayaran, yang tentunya masih banyak kekurangan sehingga pelayanan pun kurang efektif dan efisien.Untuk itu diperlukan sebuah sistem pembayaran berbasis web yang dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut dan mempermudah dalam proses pembayaran air di KSM Tirto Wening desa Kedungjampang, sehingga data yang dihasilkan meminimalkan kesalahan dan data yang diolah lebih akurat. Pada penelitian ini terdiri dari analisa dan perancangan, sedangkan metodologi yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan sistem yakni metode prototype. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa perancangan sistem yang akan digunakan untuk membantu proses pembayaran air pada KSM Tirto Wening Desa Kedungjampang.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to improve the students’ motivation through mobile phones as learning (m-learning) media in teaching vocabulary to improve students’ interest to start to give attention with their teacher in English vocabulary learning. The respondents of this research are students of the Information System study program. This Action Reseach is consists of two (2) cycles with five (5) actions in each cycle. In collecting the data, this research used multiple-choice as a test for English vocabulary mastery, observation to obtain data on students’ activities,  field note to record about the general classroom situations, and questionnaires to obtain information from the students in the sense of a report about their English vocabulary learning through mobile learning media. Based on the data analysis of pre-test, post-test 1 in the first cycle, post-test 2 in the second cycle, the mean score is 61.37, 66.06, and 73.42. Then, the data analysis of the observation list in pre-cycle to the first cycle and the second cycle is 42.18%, 49.47%, and 70.97%. It supports the questionnaire data that more than 70% of the students agreed that mobile learning media could motivate them and increasing their English vocabulary mastery. The result of this research showed that Mobile Phone as Learning Media is effective in improving students’ motivation in English vocabulary mastery.
