Abstract

Skills and abilities are needed by students in carrying out MBKM internship activities in various institutions. This is necessary so that students can perform at their best during their internships at various institutions. In addition to the need for internships, the skills acquired by students can be implemented in the workforce once they graduate from their bachelor's degree. This service aims to realize the golden generation in 2045 and the fourth astacita, which is to strengthen human resource development. There are 3 main activities provided during this training, namely: three service activities that include strengthening work ethics, cultural and work ethos training, and enhancing digitalization skills. These three main activities are the core activities that must be attended by intern students as an initial step to optimize their skills and abilities. Based on the results obtained, such optimization programs are very helpful for students as an initial step in preparing for internships at institutions. In addition, students have knowledge of how to quickly adapt in their institutions. This is very relevant and needs to be continuously developed to ensure that students are optimally prepared to face an increasingly competitive in world of work.

Abstract

The escalating incidence of cybercrime in Indonesia has rendered older adults (lansia) one of the most vulnerable populations, primarily due to limited digital literacy and a lack of awareness regarding threats such as hoaks, identity theft, and online fraud. This study analyzes strategies for empowering older adults in digital security, focusing on the implementation of the Tular Nalar program by Mafindo in Aceh Besar District. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using Laverack’s community empowerment framework. The findings indicate that the program fostered active participation, expanded access to information, and strengthened social ties among participants. Facilitators played a crucial role in contextualizing digital security risks based on the lived experiences and local values of the lansia. However, the empowerment process has not yet resulted in collective autonomy, as participants remain reliant on facilitators and have not formed self-sustaining community structures. Disparities in digital literacy, expectations of incentives, and structural barriers further constrain the realization of community-driven empowerment. These results highlight that digital empowerment for older adults is not merely about increasing literacy, but is a complex social process rooted in local structures, cultural values, and community power dynamics. The application of Laverack’s model in this context underscores the need to integrate cultural values and locally grounded approaches into the design of sustainable empowerment strategies for older adults, while also addressing the persistent challenge of achieving community autonomy.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is motivated by the declining number of Acehnese speakers in everyday interactions within the community in Banda Aceh. This research aims to identify the factors influencing the shift in the use of the Acehnese language in daily interactions among the community in Banda Aceh. The analysis in this study employs Herbert Blumer's symbolic interactionism theory and utilizes a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study reveal that the shift in the use of the Acehnese language begins within the family environment. A lack of awareness among parents to pass down and instill the use of the Acehnese language in their children leads to a failure in cultural transmission to future generations. In addition to family, the school environment also contributes to the declining use of the Acehnese language, as teaching activities predominantly use Indonesian, with minimal local Acehnese language lessons. Furthermore, the influx of migrants in Banda Aceh who are not proficient in Acehnese also results in the community rarely using the Acehnese language in public, making Indonesian the dominant language used as a collective action to adapt language use to those around them. This study highlights the need to enhance the collective awareness of the community in preserving and maintaining the Acehnese language, as well as the necessity for educational policies that better support the teaching of the Acehnese language in schools.
