Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one type of freshwater fish that is very popular in thecommunity. In the body of tilapia fish have a close relationship with salinity. Adaptation oftilapia is physiological adaptation to high salinity range because tilapia belong to fish euryhaline. This study aims to analyze good salinity on survival rate and blood profile of tilapia fed withnoni fruit. The method used was experimental method with Completely Randomized Design(CRD), 4 treatments with 3 replications ie control treatment (0 ppt), treatment A (5 ppt),treatment B (10 ppt), C treatment (15 ppt). The parameters observed were survival rate and bloodprofile of tilapia. Data analysis by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to know the influenceof each treatment. If the data has been analyzed variance there is a real difference, then followedby Tuckey test at 95% test level. The largest red blood profile in treatment A with the amount ofErythrocite at the end of the study was 3.660.000 cells / mm-3. The highest white blood profile intreatment C with an average number of Leukocytes 55,900 cells / mm-3. The best media salinityfor survival rate in this study was 5 ppt salinity.

Abstract

Wiyung Subdistrict is part of Surabaya City, once an agricultural area, but now all agricultural land has been developed into a densely populated residential area and shops. The livelihoods of most residents are traders, builders, factory workers, laborers, private employees and teachers. Wiyung which is part of Surabaya City, the second largest Metropolis City in Indonesia, feels the impact of the development of the city. The bad impact is the high pollution both air, soil and water. Air pollution comes from high smoke from motor vehicles and factories. This causes a lack of access to clean and healthy oxygen and a comfortable and beautiful place to stay free from pollution. For this reason, this community service program is implemented with the aim of providing education about a healthy and beautiful environment to residents, especially school age children. School-age children were chosen because they have great opportunities to develop and there are wide open opportunities to hone their skills to create beautiful environments through aquascape design training. Short-term goal is that they have the skills to make Aquascape to add beautiful and comfortable places to live and as a contributor to oxygen in the home environment. The long term goal is that they will be able to develop their business from the hobby of making Aquascape. The target participants of this program are high school students who live in Putri ‘Aisyiyah Orphanage, Wiyung District. At the Orphanage, children do not have activities to fill free time, so this service program is appropriate if it is there. Aquascape making activities are part of fish and plant cultivation activities. From the results of questionnaire questionnaires and direct interviews with the children and caretakers of the institution it was concluded that they were very enthusiastic about aquascape training because it was a new knowledge and experience for them.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of betel leaf powder mixed inthe feed (pellet) to improve the health status of tilapia by measuring the value of erythrocytes andleukocytes. Measurements of erythrocyte values and blood leucocytes of tilapia were performedafter the test fish were fed with betel leaf powder (0.3 g / 100 g feed, 0.6 g / 100 g feed, 0.9 g /100 g feed) for 6week maintenance period. While the control fish during the maintenance periodwas fed pellet feed which was not mixed with betel leaf powder. The erythrocyte and leukocytevalues of tilapia were measured weekly by taking blood in the caudal vein section (tail) of thetest fish. Blood collection was performed using a sterile syringe size of 26 g, which was firstwetted EDTA (Ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid) As an anticoagulant of blood cells asanticoagulants. Furthermore, the blood has been collected in Eppendorf tube which has also beenwetted EDTA (Ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid), then prepared by adding hayem and turksolution and then measured the erythrocyte value and the leukocyte count with Haemometer. Thebest measurements result was at the dose of 0.3 g / 100 g of feed which showed that the amountof erythrocyte of tilapia increased from 1,145,000 cells / mm-3 (week I) to 1,986,667 cells / mm-3(week IV) the number of leukocytes increased from 21,976 cells / mm-3 (week I) to 28,167 cells /mm-3 (week IV). From the results of this study showed that the addition of betel leaf powder inthe feed can improve the health status of tilapia fish.

Abstract

Milkfish is a leading commodity in Gresik Regency, not only because of the high demand but also the high interest in cultivating milkfish as well as the distinctive taste of meat and high nutritional value. Based on interviews with milkfish farmers in Ujung Pangkah District, it is known that the productivity of the milkfish pond has decreased from year to year. The decrease in productivity in fish farming can be caused by various factors, including decreased environmental carrying capacity and water quality. The liver is one of the important organs of higher organisms including fish, which functions to detoxify and secrete chemicals used for the digestive process. The liver plays a role in metabolic processes and the transformation of pollutants from the environment. So, in this study, histological analysis of the milkfish liver was carried out, among others, the aim of which was to determine the health status of milkfish. From the analysis, it is known that the liver tissue of the milkfish in the sampling location is in an unhealthy condition due to congestion, necrosis and tissue damage or loss of connective tissue.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the histology of kidney, liver and heart organs in African catfish Clarias gariepinus not pectoral fin which originated from maintenance in aquaculture ponds. The study was conducted in June 2018 at the Reproductive Laboratory of Fisheries Cultivation Study Program, Department of Water Resources Management, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Brawijaya University, Malang. This research method is descriptive of the object under study that is abnormal fish and the sample specified is 3 individuals. There are 3 target organs, namely kidney, liver and heart. As a comparison, a normal fish sample is used, which is a complete pectoral fin fish. Each organ is examined by the parts that most play a role in the function of the organ. The results of the study showed that abnormal African catfish glomelurus underwent changes that merged with the bowman capsule, whereas in the liver it was found that the hepatocyte nucleus was shrinking and fading. In the heart organ the pericardium layer appears thinner

Abstract

The exploration of bacteria needs to be done because of different habitats or aquatic environmental conditions, but also it is different for bacterial communities found in the digestivetract of fish. In the Gresik area, exploration of bacterial communities in the digestive tract, especially tilapia, has not been widely carried out. This study aims to determine the colony ofmorphology, cells, and gram characters of bacteria in the digestive tract of tilapia. As well as the optimal pH and temperature in bacterial rejuvenation. The research was conducted in the KaVe laboratory (Kampung Vannamei), the research procedure is the manufacture of media for bacterial growth, gram staining to determine the properties of bacteria, bacterial growth at different temperatures and pH. In this study, the results of colony morphological characterization of all isolates were round, all surface shapes were raised, the edges for NL 1isolates were irregular, NL 2 was wavy, and NL 3 was irregular. The color of all isolates is white for NL 1, which is yellowish white. And the size of the isolates was NL 1 4 µm, NL 2 8 µm,and NL3 5.65 µm. The rejuvenation results with ph showed no significant difference, while the temperature treatment showed significantly different results, namely the NL 1 and NL 3treatments with optimal temperatures of 27.2 OC and 31.7 OC. The results of this study still need further tests on identification based on biochemical characteristics and bacterial DNAtesting using PCR techniques and testing the ability of bacteria using substrates.
