Abstract

Research on green consumption has two streams, the stream about how consumers consume green products (consume differently) and the stream about how to consume less. Most research focus on the stream about consume differently, therefore this study would like to contribute to the latter research stream by understanding the determinants of zero waste lifestyle adoption. The 3R theory (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) is used in this study. The object of this study is generation-Z who live in Indonesian big cities, aged between 15 - 24 years. Data collection is done by using online questionnaire to 322 respondents. This study uses descriptive research design and judgemental sampling to collect the data. Data analysis is done by using structural equation modelling. Variables used in this study are attitude toward zero waste lifestyle, social norm, personal norm, altruistic motivation, and social media activity. The findings of this study are social media activity significantly influence reduce, reuse, and recycle behavior, social norms significantly influence recycle behavior only, while other factors do not significantly influence zero waste lifestyle adoption of generation-Z. This study gives insight that social media has significant role in changing consumer behavior to be more sustainable.

Abstract

The research aims to uncover the root cause of the high rate in terms of logistic employee turn-over at the top ten logistics establishments under the management of Kawasan Berikat Nusantara located at the busiest logistics hub in the northern part of Indonesia. Ninety-eight respondents who were all decision makers representing ten major logistics establishments gave the primary data through structured questionnaires. Regression analysis was used to analyze the collected data as well as the description of hypothesis results. The conclusion showed that although the high tension of heavy industry in particular the logistics sector caused high job stress; it was not affecting the turn over intention of the employee. On the other side, employee job satisfaction gave more impact on employee turn-over. This circumstance gave a clear and objective description that job stress was really only the perception of the employee where they have their own flexibility and got full understanding related to the individual stress aspect. It concluded that logistics sector employees could tolerate job stress much better than their job satisfaction.

Abstract

Mindful consumption is an emerging research topic. The literature about mindful consumption is currently more focused on individual. However, the more significant behavioral impact is collective behavior. So, the purpose of this research is to analyze how mindfulness instill changes to mindful consumption behavior at collective level. This study applies social practice theory to explain how waste management as a social practice increases collective mindfulness and collective mindful consumption. In this study, a qualitative research design using a case study technique was applied. A series of in-depth interviews were conducted with two waste banks and several households around them. The result of this study is waste management practice will evoke collective mindfulness and collective mindful consumption with the following processes: (1) Agents may reconfigure the elements of material, rules, and skills of waste management practices. (2) When agents perform the waste management practice frequently and consistently, the residents will participate in the practice which means that the new practice recruit new carriers. (3) For practice in the community to evolve, the recruitment of carriers depends on frequent exposure to the practice. (4) When the residents are mindful, they will transform their product choices into solutions that benefit themselves and the environment.

Abstract

Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative force in the digital transformation of industries, particularly in enhancing security, transparency, and operational efficiency. This paper aims to explore the practical applications of blockchain in various sectors, including supply chain management, healthcare, and finance, and assess its ability to address challenges like decentralization, cryptographic security, and consensus mechanisms. Through a comprehensive literature review and case study analysis, this study examines how blockchain technology fosters trust, reduces fraud, and improves the efficiency of digital systems by providing tamper-proof records and automating processes through smart contracts. The research also identifies significant barriers to blockchain adoption, such as scalability issues, regulatory constraints, and interoperability problems that hinder its widespread implementation. By evaluating these obstacles, the paper offers insights into the technological and policy challenges that need to be overcome to facilitate blockchain's broader use. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge by showcasing the potential of blockchain to revolutionize industries beyond its initial use in cryptocurrencies. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on blockchain's applications in real-world business systems, emphasizing its role in digital transformation strategies. The paper concludes by recommending further research and technological innovations to address the scalability and regulatory gaps, as well as strategies for accelerating blockchain adoption. Ultimately, blockchain's ability to enhance the security, transparency, and efficiency of modern systems positions it as a key driver of future digital transformations.

Abstract

Consumers play an important role in transforming the economic system into a circular economy. Some literature highlighted that consumer demand has become an enabler for businesses to adopt circular practices. However, other literature argues that although consumers are aware of environmental sustainability issues, their adoption of circular products and services is still low, which is termed as an "intention–action gap." This "intention–action gap" becomes a socio-cultural barrier for businesses to adopt circular practices. This paper aims to increase knowledge and understanding about the role of consumers perceived by circular start-ups. A qualitative case study approach was employed by conducting in-depth interviews with four circular start-ups. This study is expected to shed light on the role of consumers either as enablers or barriers to the circular economy in Indonesia.

Abstract

The increasing demand for data integrity and confidentiality in higher education has driven institutions to explore innovative solutions to secure academic records. Traditional database systems often fail to ensure authenticity and protect sensitive information from unauthorized access or manipulation. This study investigates how blockchain technology can enhance privacy and authenticity in university record management. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a multiple case study approach. Data were collected through interviews and documentation analysis at selected Indonesian universities piloting blockchain-based systems. The analysis focuses on how blockchain’s decentralized and immutable features support secure data storage, verifiable credentials, and transparent access logs. The findings reveal that blockchain implementation significantly improves trust in academic data by reducing the risk of falsification and enabling real-time validation of records. Moreover, blockchain fosters institutional accountability and streamlines verification processes for both internal and external stakeholders. However, challenges such as integration with legacy systems, technical readiness, and regulatory alignment remain prominent. The study concludes that blockchain offers a promising framework for data-driven management in higher education, particularly in reinforcing the credibility and confidentiality of academic information. The results provide practical insights for policymakers and university leaders seeking to modernize their digital in frastructure while safeguarding the integrity of institutional records.
