Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between Religious Studies and the discourse of religious moderation in Indonesian higher education by challenging the dominant view that positions religious moderation primarily as a state-driven normative agenda or a mechanism for transmitting moral values. The purpose of this research is to explain how Religious Studies operates as an epistemic space that shapes intellectual dispositions for managing religious diversity, rather than as an instrument of normative harmonization. This study employs a qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) with lecturers and students at Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga and Universitas Gadjah Mada, complemented by an analysis of curricular documents and institutional practices. The findings reveal three main results. First, Religious Studies systematically produces epistemic humility, enabling subjects to recognize the limits of truth claims without falling into relativism. Second, through the repetition of academic practices, a reflexive habitus emerges that shifts religious engagement from identity defense toward argumentative reasoning. Third, Religious Studies equips subjects with the capacity to manage tensions among religion, culture, and nationalism critically and contextually. This study offers an original contribution by proposing the concept of critical religious moderation as an intellectual-ethical capacity produced through scholarly practice. The implications of this research underscore the importance of protecting epistemic autonomy and strengthening reflective educational ecosystems within policies on religious moderation in higher education.

Abstract

The increasing demand for halal tourism in Indonesia is not balanced by the consistent implementation of sharia principles in the hospitality sector, including the uneven ownership of halal certificates in several hotels that claim to apply sharia principles. This study aims to analyze the suitability of the management of the RedDoorz Syariah Hotel Near Sun City Mall Sidoarjo with Fatwa of National Sharia Board – Indonesian Ulama Council (DSN-MUI) on Guidelines for the Implementation of Sharia Hotel Business. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study show that although hotels do not yet have an official certificate from the MUI, in practice they have implemented most of the sharia principles from the Fatwa of DSN-MUI, such as screening non-mahram guests, providing worship facilities, and preventing immoral acts. However, imperfections were found in the aspect of using Islamic financial services and the absence of a Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) in its structure. The implication of these findings is the importance of more systematic supervision and refinement of financial aspects to achieve comprehensive sharia compliance as well as evaluation material for the sharia hotel certification process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana masyarakat Kp. Nangela Desa Pabangbon tentang pentingnya pendidikan formal. Dari hasil analisis data bahwa: 1) penyebab rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pendidikan di Kampung Nangela Desa Pabangbon Kecamatan Leuwiliang Kabupaten Bogor, dan faktor apakah yang mempengaruhi kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pendidikan di Kampung Nangela Desa Pabangbon Kecamatan Leuwiliang Kabupaten Bogor. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun pemilihan informan pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria anak yang menerima bantuan pendidikan gratis, dan orang tua anak yang menerima pendidikan gratis di Kampung Nangela Desa Pabangbon Kecamatan Leuwiliang Kabupaten Bogor. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teknik pengabsahan data yaitu member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) penyebab rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pendidikan di Kampung Nangela Desa Pabangbon Kecamatan Leuwiliang Kabupaten Bogor adalah kurangnya pemahaman akan pendidikan, rendahnya tingkat pendidikan orangtua dan kurangnya minat belajar pada anak. 2) Faktor yang mempengaruhi kurangnya kesadaran seseorang akan pentingnya pendidikan yakni, faktor kesadaran anak itu sendiri, faktor ekonomi mempengaruhi kelangsungan pendidikan anak usia sekolah yang sudah harus bekerja (eksploitasiekonomi), faktor budaya patriarki yang masih sangat kuat melekat pada masyarakat di Kampung Nangela Desa Pabangbon Kecamatan Leuwiliang Kabupaten Bogor. Abstract

Community Service (KKN) is one of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the field of community service. This KKN activity was carried out in Klego Village, targeting students of SDN Klego 4. The problem found was the children's low awareness of and management of plastic waste, especially beverage bottle caps. Therefore, KKN students initiated a socialization activity for the Friends of Trash Socialization, followed by the use of bottle caps to make key chains as a medium for education and creativity for students. This activity aims to instill the use of plastic waste from an early age and increase students' awareness of the use of plastic waste. The methods used were socialization and direct practice. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of waste as well as increased creativity and concern for the environment. This activity is expected to become a means of continuous education for students of SDN Klego 4.

Abstract

Digital transformation at the village level is a strategic step to enhance public service efficiency and empower the local economy. This community service program aims to support the digitalization process in Tanjung Lago Village through two main approaches: the development of an official village website as an information and governance transparency tool, and the digital empowerment of local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) producing kemplang, a traditional fish-based snack. The implementation methods included field observation, interviews, digital media design, website development, training sessions, and stakeholder validation. The village website was built using static web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), featuring village profiles, activity galleries, organizational structure, and contact information. Meanwhile, the SME assistance focused on branding, packaging, product photography, and the use of social media for digital promotion. The results indicated improved capacity among village officials in managing public information and increased knowledge among SMEs regarding modern marketing strategies. This program successfully integrates information technology with local potential, contributing to inclusive and sustainable digital village development..
