Abstract

The development of social media has transformed political communication strategies, especially in election campaigns. TikTok has become one of the main platforms used to build political image through short video-based content. This research aims to analyze how framing in TikTok content of @partaigerindra account is used to reconstruct Prabowo Subianto's image during the 2024 presidential election campaign. By using descriptive qualitative method and Entman's framing analysis (1993), this study identifies the political communication patterns applied in shaping Prabowo's image. The results showed that the @partaigerindra account actively used framing strategies to change public perception of Prabowo Subianto, from a figure synonymous with the military to a figure that is more humorous and closer to the public, especially generation Z voters. The narrative built through TikTok content emphasized aspects of humor, closeness, and engagement in digital trends favored by Generation Z. In addition, TikTok's for You Page (FYP) algorithm plays a role in massively disseminating this content, increasing audience engagement, and strengthening Prabowo's positive image among young voters. This research provides insights into how social media can be used to reconstruct Prabowo Subianto's image during the 2024 elections and can be a reference for academics and digital campaign practitioners in understanding political framing strategies in the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes critical discourse in the TikTok account @DOKTERDETEKTIF statement regarding the temporary suspension of skincare sales through the video “Permintaan maaf dari Doktif”. The analysis was conducted using Teun A. Van Dijk's model, which includes the dimensions of text, social cognition, and social context. The results of the study show that the statement is not neutral but rather laden with communication strategies. In the textual dimension, the use of emotional strategies to build closeness with the audience, rational strategies by presenting scientific evidence and laboratory results, and defensive strategies to refute accusations and construct a narrative as a victim were identified. In the social cognition dimension, Doktif frames himself as an honest, credible, and wronged figure, while the opposing party is portrayed as manipulative. In the social context, Doktif position as both a doctor and an influencer grants him the power to control the narrative and influence public opinion. Thus, @DOKTERDETEKTIF statements are not merely clarifications but rather discursive strategies to maintain a positive image, build audience loyalty, and preserve symbolic power in the digital space.

Abstract

The populations of all countries, including Indonesia, are aging, leading to an increasing elderly population with a greater number of health issues and comorbidities. The aim was to determine whether involvement in an interdisciplinary care program can help elderly individuals maintain physical activities of daily living. This was a quantitative longitudinal study with a quasiexperimental one-group pretest–posttest design. Fifteen participants were included, and one participant died before the 6-month follow-up. The Indonesian version of the Barthel Index was used to measure physical activities of daily living (PADLs) before and at one, three and six months after the intervention. Linear regression models using the generalized estimating equation approach were used to determine significant PADLs changes and predictive factors. The mean total PADL score at T1, T2 and T3 increased significantly compared to that at T0 (p<.001). Age (β=-0.33; p=.001), diabetes mellitus (β=-2.16; p=.001), stroke (β=-5.78; p=.001) and congestive heart failure (β=-10.68; p=.001) were the strongest predictors of PADLs. Interdisciplinary team care may help elderly individuals maintain PADLs. The risk factors for PADLs deterioration were older age and comorbidities, including diabetes mellitus, stroke and heart failure. A subsequent investigation of homogeneous participants with a control group is suggested for future studies.

Abstract

Introduction: In this study, we aimed to identify the needs for interactive educational media to optimize fathers’ involvement during the maternal-perinatal period in Yogyakarta. With evidence showing that paternal engagement contributes significantly to maternal well-being, child development, and family health outcomes, our objective was to explore the specific barriers and preferences of expectant fathers to address gaps in current health education strategies that remain largely mother-centered. Methods: This qualitative study employed focus group discussions with midwives and in-depth interviews with expectant fathers and mothers at public health centers in Yogyakarta (July–August 2025). Participants (6 midwives, 10 fathers, 10 mothers) were purposively recruited to ensure variation in socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. Data collection proceeded until thematic saturation was achieved. Transcripts were coded inductively and analyzed thematically using NVivo, applying constant comparison across cases. Credibility was enhanced through iterative refinement of codes. Ethical clearance was obtained from the Health Research Ethics Committee of UNISA Yogyakarta (Ref No.4601/KEP-UNISA/VI/2025); all participants gave written informed consent. Results: The primary outcome was the identification of fathers’ educational needs during the maternal-perinatal period. Four themes emerged from data analysis and revealed; limited access to practical; father-focused learning resources; cultural barriers due to patriarchal norms; and a strong preference for interactive and technology-based media such as mobile applications, simulations, and audiovisual content Conclusion: This study underscores the need for father-focused, context-specific educational media. Findings suggest incorporating mobile-based modules featuring short videos, simulations, gamified content, and blended online-offline practice. Such designs can possibly strengthen paternal confidence and engagement, enhancing maternal well-being and infant outcomes while informing innovative perinatal health promotion strategies in similar contexts.
