Abstract

Mangrove ecotourism has become one of the popular destinations in nature-based tourism. Pasar Raya Village, which is surrounded by beautiful mangrove forests, has taken the initiative to develop mangrove ecotourism and turn it into a "Mangrove Tourism Village." This study aims to design a comprehensive, sustainable, and attractive mangrove ecotourism planning in Pasar Raya Village. The study involved an in-depth analysis of the mangrove ecotourism potential, including the natural wealth, biodiversity, and environmental uniqueness of Pasar Raya Village. In addition, the involvement of local communities and stakeholders became an integral part of this planning. the construction of trails, jetties, and guided paths to allow visitors to explore the mangrove forest safely and comfortably. The outcome of this planning is the transformation of Pasar Raya Village into a sustainable mangrove ecotourism destination, which not only provides an exceptional experience for visitors but also empowers the local community and safeguards the important mangrove ecosystem. The success of this project depends on close collaboration between the government, community and private sector in a joint effort to maintain the natural beauty and biodiversity of Pasar Raya Village.

Abstract

A stadium is a building used to hold football events or events in which there is a field or stage surrounded by seats and stands for spectators. In Indonesia, there are only three proper stadiums for national and international events. The rest is only for local matches. For the sake of advancing the level of a team, a stadium that has FIFA standards is very important and will also be the pride of the team. A feasibility analysis was carried out to determine the feasibility of an exemplary stadium by using a questionnaire. The purpose of this research is to conduct a stadium feasibility study in accordance with FIFA standards. The results of this study indicate that conditions in model stadiums do not meet FIFA standards. Analysis of the Existing Conditions of Exemplary Stadiums Against FIFA Standards, intended for football clubs and events, football lovers and all residents of Medan City to carry out football matches and exercise for residents by providing the main facilities of Football Stadiums for playing and watching matches.

Abstract

Pocket parks can create new public spaces without needing large-scale redevelopment, usually smaller than one hectare and created in densely developed urban areas. This research aims to improve the community's standard of living, creating a more comfortable environment for humans and the environment. This research focuses on the design of pocket parks in dense building areas with the concept of microclimate. Data is collected from field observations. The design results are expected to provide an understanding of the role of pocket parks in dense neighborhoods and guide future park planning and management.

Abstract

Learning media has an important role in the learning process so that students can understand the material and also be able to actively participate in the learning process. Digestive system material in humans includes material that is quite difficult for students to understand. Learning media in the form of UNO spin cards can be used as a solution to the problems of students who have difficulty understanding learning materials. The development of learning media in the form of UNO spin cards was developed referring to the IDI (Instructional Development Institute) development model which consists of three stages, namely Define, Develop, and Evalute. This learning media uses the game method in accordance with the criteria and needs of students' learning media that presents material more concisely so that it is easy to understand.

Abstract

Reproductive system disorders or diseases threaten Indonesia's young generation, so prevention is necessary before they occur. One way that can be done is by adding preventive value information to learning. Booklet learning media can help convey preventive information. The research aims to analyze the level of validity of booklet media using the meta-analysis method, namely a systematic and quantitative assessment of previous research. Data collection was carried out by searching for articles from previous researchers in the thesis database of the UNP Biology Department and by accessing several journals on the internet. The population in this study were all documents related to booklets, and the sample used in this study consisted of 15 articles and theses. The research results show that the average validity value of booklet media development in the content component is 90.93%, linguistics 89.43%, presentation 85.38%, and graphics 90.89%. Overall, the average validity of the booklet is 89.19% in the very valid category. From these results, the booklet media can be developed and is suitable for use in the biology learning process on reproductive system material.

Abstract

Learning media innovation requires educators to be able to create learning media by utilizing technology-based media to suit students' learning characteristics. Apart from that, the use of learning media used by teachers still does not support students' interest in the learning process. E-puzzle media can be used as a complement to innovative learning media so that it can stimulate students' creative thinking abilities.  This research aims to collect similar articles from search results of several journals on internet sites. The sample used in this research was 10 articles related to e-puzzle development.  This research method uses a meta-analysis method, where data collection techniques use statistical techniques that combine several studies related to puzzle development in biology learning collected via internet sites so that combined quantitative data is obtained. The research results found that the average level of practicality in using e-puzzles by teachers was 87.84% in the very practical category, while the average level of practicality by students was 86.51% in the very practical category.  Based on the results of the practicality analysis, the e-puzzle developed can be categorized as practical so that it is suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Science studies nature systematically through observation and experimentation to understand the causal relationships of natural events. Science learning not only focuses on the mastery of knowledge but also on the process of discovery, skills development, and scientific attitudes. The main challenge in science learning in Indonesia is the disparity of educational facilities between schools causing a gap in the quality of education, low science literacy of students and misconceptions. Science learning in Finland, known for its phenomenon-based and student-centered approach, offers a potential solution. The Finnish education system emphasizes interdisciplinary understanding and real-world relevance, which can be applied in Indonesia to improve the quality of science learning. This research is a literature study that identifies, evaluates and analyzes articles related to science learning in Indonesia and Finland. Results show that the adoption of Finnish methods can improve science learning in Indonesia by emphasizing hands-on experience and active student interaction. The Finnish government also supports science learning from an early age to develop children's potential. This study suggests improving education facilities and adopting best practices from Finland to improve the science education system in Indonesia.

Abstract

The population growth rate, aligned with the increasing diverse needs, will raise the amount of waste/residue or refuse, both from consumption processes and activities carried out, in the form of trash. The purpose of this research is to understand the waste management system planning of Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park. The research material is the site located in Sampe Cita Village, Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency, considering and paying attention to the existing waste management system. Waste that is improperly disposed of will impact the surrounding community's activities, potentially leading to diseases. The data used in this study involved several data collection techniques, including field observations and document analysis, conducting direct observations in the field to examine waste management practices such as collection, sorting, transportation, and disposal. Based on the research results, it is explained that, in general, the planning activities for waste management in the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park area include containerization, collection, transfer, and transportation of waste to the landfill (TPA). In terms of waste management planning in the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park area, it will consider the needs of people, the amount of waste generated, containerization, and the Temporary Waste Storage (TPST) of the Al-Amin Living Lab and Industrial Park, as well as effective waste management.

Abstract

The 21st-century learning paradigm confronts students with various challenges. Students are required to be able to think at a higher level to face the challenges of the 21st century. Higher order thinking skills are divided into critical, problem-solving, and creative thinking. One learning media that can hone students' higher-order thinking skills is student worksheets. This study aims to produce student worksheets oriented to higher-order thinking skills to improve higher-order thinking skills for first semester X grade students. This type of research is development research using a 4D model. The subjects of this study were 62 students of class X in the first semester and one biology teacher. This research is limited to analyzing the school's needs for developing LKPD, which is oriented towards higher order thinking skills in the first semester of biology class X. This study uses a survey technique. The results showed that LKPD oriented to higher order thinking skills needs to be developed to train critical thinking skills, problem-solving and creative thinking.
