Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between arm muscle strength and muscle flexibility with semi-smash results in volleyball games in class X male students of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. This type of research is correlation research. The population used was male students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. The sample for this research consisted of 70 male students. This research method uses method correlation. The data collection technique in this research used a test. The instruments used were the pull-up test, sit-and-reach test, and semi-smash test. The results of statistical analysis from multiple correlation analysis obtained an F-count of 68.63, then consulting the F-table with a significance level of 5%, obtained an F-table of 3.14. The magnitude of the double correlation (R) obtained is R= 0.82, and the coefficient of determination (R2) obtained is 0.672, meaning (0.672 x100%) = 67.2% of the semi-smash results are determined by a combination of arm muscle strength and stick flexibility. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between arm muscle strength and muscle flexibility with semi-smash results in volleyball games for male students in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the motivation levels of students at SDN 09 Rawamangun in the context of physical education during the pandemic. The primary focus was to assess how motivation influenced their engagement with physical education classes delivered remotely. Employing a survey research method, the study utilized a questionnaire as the main instrument for data collection. The sample comprised 70 students from SDN 09 Rawamangun, selected through total sampling, who participated in sports learning activities from home due to pandemic restrictions. The data analysis involved calculating the average response for each statement to gauge the motivation levels. The findings indicated that motivation in physical education was influenced by two main dimensions: intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. For the intrinsic dimension, 53 students (76%) were categorized as having very high motivation, while 17 students (24%) fell into the high motivation category. Conversely, in terms of extrinsic motivation, 32 students (46%) were rated in the very high category, and 38 students (54%) were categorized as having high motivation. These results suggest a strong overall motivation among students, with both intrinsic and extrinsic factors playing significant roles in their engagement with remote physical education.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between running techniques, physical factors, and the sprinting abilities of fifth-grade elementary school students. Through direct observation and measurement of students’ running techniques, as well as assessments of their physical attributes such as speed, leg muscle strength, and flexibility. This research aims to identify key factors that contribute to sprinting performance. Statistical analysis reveals a significant positive correlation between proper running techniques characterized by a forward-leaning posture, synchronized arm-leg movements, and correct foot landing and enhanced sprinting ability. Furthermore, the analysis highlights the importance of physical factors, with findings showing that students possessing greater leg muscle strength and flexibility exhibit superior sprinting capabilities. The correlation analysis underscores the strong influence of both running techniques and physical attributes on sprinting performance, indicating that improvements in these areas can lead to enhanced athletic outcomes. These findings have practical implications for the development of targeted training programs in elementary schools, emphasizing the enhancement of running techniques and physical conditioning. By focusing on structured training that incorporates muscle strengthening, flexibility improvement, and technique refinement, educators can help students maximize their athletic potential and encourage lifelong healthy habits. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the factors influencing sprinting abilities and offers a foundation for optimizing physical education practices for young athletes.
