Abstract

Abstract

In this article, the author seeks to describe the Covid-19 pandemic that has attacked the global world, especially the United States which is the country with the most Covid-19 cases in the world. The United States is considered slow in dealing with Covid-19 which has made this country devastated by this virus. This downturn was further exacerbated by the policies of the country’s leader, namely Donald Trump at the time. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) as a law above health insurance that aims to increase health equity among all Americans in the United States is considered to have no effect and further exacerbated the situation which was eventually revoked by Trump. This research uses qualitative methods through literature studies. This study uses the concept of health equity to analyze the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in overcoming Covid-19 in the United States. The results of this study indicate that there is no impact or settlement caused by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States.

Abstract

Abstract

The unequal distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine worldwide is one of humanity's global challenges due to political factors entering and influencing the distribution of vaccines to countries worldwide. Vaccine-producing countries are fragmented into two sides: democratic and non-democratic countries. This article aims to answer how political factors can influence the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine globally and which vaccine is the global favorite. This article uses vaccine politics theory as its basis and uses descriptive-comparative methods in the data analysis process. The results of this research found that there were indications that illiberal democratic practices were widespread during the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the decision of the head of state to regulate the distribution of vaccines in their country, which tended to be authoritarian during the pandemic. Apart from that, vaccines produced by democratic countries are the favorite of the global community compared to vaccines produced by non-democratic countries. The transparency factor in the production process is the primary benchmark in assessing product quality in addition to the country of origin.

Abstract

The transition from authoritarianism to democracy is often assumed to lead to improved human rights protection, including a reduction in gender-based violence (GBV). Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a post-conflict country that adopted a democratic system through the Dayton Agreement in 1995, continues to struggle with establishing inclusive and sustainable peace. This study aims to examine whether the advancement of democracy in Bosnia has contributed to the decline of GBV from 1995 to 2024. Using a quantitative correlational approach and secondary data, the research analyzes the relationship between democratic development—measured through six rule of law indicators—and trends in GBV. The findings indicate that there is no causal relationship between the increase in democracy and the decrease in GBV. In fact, GBV in Bosnia has increased over the past three decades, despite a relatively stable democracy index. This suggests that procedural democracy does not automatically translate into protection for women, especially in the absence of substantial institutional and social reform. The study highlights the need to assess democratic quality more holistically, particularly in post-conflict settings, to ensure justice and protection for vulnerable groups. These findings also contribute to the broader discussion on the limitations of Democratic Peace Theory in addressing issues of domestic and gender-based violence.

Abstract

The digitalization of mosque administration has become essential for improving transparency, efficiency, and accountability in institutional governance. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of training on the use of the E-Masjid application in enhancing the competencies and readiness of mosque administrators to adopt technology-based administrative systems. The study employed a participatory, practice-oriented training model consisting of conceptual briefings, demonstrations, and simulations, involving 26 participants from six mosques representing diverse institutional categories. The results indicate substantial improvements in participants’ understanding of mosque digitalization concepts, technical abilities in operating the application, and readiness for implementation, with an average score increase of 60–80%. The digitalization of financial management, congregational data, and asset inventories significantly strengthened accountability, improved congregational trust, and facilitated structured management of social programs. The findings reveal that successful integration of digital systems requires adequate infrastructure and improved digital literacy among mosque administrators. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on community-based digital governance and offers a replicable model for digital transformation in various mosque settings. The implications highlight the importance of sustained mentoring to ensure that digitalization becomes an integral component of modern, responsive mosque governance.
