Abstract

One of the palm oil processing industries in West Sumatra, in relation to meeting customer demand, experienced internal problems related to kernel quality, where there was inconsistent water and dirt content in the kernel. This can be seen from the analysis data on the water content and seed dirt in April 2021 which did not meet the quality parameter standards based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-0002-1987, which is a maximum moisture content of 8%, maximum. dirt content of 6% and maximum broken seeds of 15%. Production analysis is carried out to measure kernel quality in the industry using the Seven Tools method (Histogram and Control Map) to improve the problems faced by the company as well as workplace maintenance to produce improvements and improve the quality of the products produced. The kernel quality level produced meets the standards set by the national standardization body, where the kernel quality level is a water content of 7.60% and an impurity content of 4.58%. In the process capability analysis, the Cp value is 1.11 for water content and 1.10 for dirt content, where a value of 1 < Cp < 1.33 means that the process capability is good, but more control is needed if the Cp value approaches 1.00.

Abstract

Activities in carrying out work often make workers feel tired, especially work that requires continuity, skill and concentration. Work activities like this can be quite burdensome for mechanics, which can cause fatigue or injury to workers. On the other hand, a workload that is too light can cause workers to become bored or bored with their work. The aim of this research is to determine the workload in each division area studied, and to estimate the right number of workers for a particular position so that it can be a recommendation for companies regarding workload. The Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method is a method for measuring workload by measuring the length of time needed to complete a given task. After carrying out the calculations, the FTE index values are obtained as follows; 1) The press station mechanic is in the 4.39 category (overload), indicating that 2 more employees are needed. 2) General installation mechanics of 0.34 category (underload). This indicates that there is no need for additional employees, but perhaps a reduction in employees to 1 person. 3) Workshop mechanics amounted to 3.63 in the category (overload). This indicates that 2 more mechanics are needed. 4) Mechanical electrical installation is 0.45. This indicates that there is no need for additional mechanics in this area. By calculating the FTE method, it can be seen that there are 2 divisions that fall into the overload workload category, and 2 divisions that fall into the underload workload category. The results of this research are quantitative and from a macro perspective, so it is necessary to also consider socio-cultural factors with employment regulations.

Abstract

Rendang, a traditional Minangkabau dish from West Sumatra, Indonesia, has gained international recognition and has inspired many entrepreneurs to promote this cuisine globally. One such entrepreneur is CV. Kuliner Makmur Sejahtera (KMS), which produces rendang under the brand Katuju. To enhance operational efficiency and support global market expansion, KMS requires an improved inventory management system. The primary challenge is the difficulty in monitoring inventory and tracking products without a barcode system. This community service program aims to address this issue by implementing barcode technology on Katuju's product packaging. The activities include designing, creating, and printing barcodes, as well as training KMS staff on how to use them. The process starts with observation and interviews to identify needs, followed by barcode design and production using an online barcode generator, and testing the barcode functionality with a scanning system. The results indicate that the community service team successfully trained KMS in barcode creation and printing, and integrated barcodes into product packaging. Evaluation through questionnaires showed participant satisfaction with the program and readiness to apply the barcode system to their products. This program is expected to improve inventory management, data accuracy, and support CV. KMS's global market expansion by providing tools necessary for efficient product tracking and valuable consumer data collection.

Abstract

In the digital era, efficient supply chain and inventory management pose significant challenges for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the food sector. The use of barcode technology can enhance stock management and product tracking in real-time. However, the adoption of this technology among MSMEs, especially for traditional food products like rendang, remains limited. This study aims to design and implement a Code 128 barcode system for rendang products produced by MSMEs, incorporating information such as product variants, production batch, production date, and expiration date. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) method, consisting of needs analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation stages. The findings reveal that the designed barcode system improves stock management efficiency, reduces recording errors, and facilitates integration with modern retail systems. Nonetheless, the study is limited to a small scale and encounters challenges related to infrastructure and human resources. To address these limitations, the research proposes solutions such as utilizing more affordable devices and providing training to enhance human resource skills. This study is expected to contribute to the digital transformation of food-sector MSMEs, helping them improve competitiveness in an increasingly challenging market.

Abstract

Islam and fundamentalism have become significant subjects in contemporary studies of religion and politics. The presence of fundamentalism in the context of Islam poses complex challenges, particularly in managing the relationship between tradition and contemporary realities. This research employs descriptive and thematic content analysis methods to analyze the phenomenon of Islamic fundamentalism, exploring its origins, characteristics, and impacts in social, political, and cultural contexts. Through a descriptive approach, this research provides a comprehensive overview of the phenomenon of Islamic fundamentalism from historical, doctrinal, and practical perspectives. Thematic content analysis allows for an understanding of interpretations and applications of Islamic doctrines that underpin fundamentalist movements. The findings highlight the complexity of the relationship between the rich tradition of Islam and rapidly changing contemporary contexts. While fundamentalism often claims to uphold the "purity" of tradition, this research demonstrates how rigid understandings and interpretations often conflict with the values of modernity, human rights, and pluralism. The results of this research provide deep insights into the dynamics between Islam, fundamentalism, and contemporary challenges. Their implications stimulate critical reflection on how Muslim and non-Muslim societies can respond to these challenges in ways that promote dialogue, tolerance, and mutual understanding.

Abstract

The aerodynamic design of a vehicle body plays a critical role in reducing air resistance (drag), thereby contributing to improved fuel efficiency. Aerodynamic resistance in vehicles is influenced by several parameters, including body geometry, auxiliary elements, and the orientation of the vehicle relative to the airflow. This study aims to analyze the effects of body shape variations and the addition of a spoiler on drag force reduction in a sedan-type vehicle. The methodology employed in this research is numerical simulation using Ansys Fluent software. Simulation results indicate that the model with a more streamlined geometry (Model C) produces a lower drag force compared to the model equipped with a spoiler. The drag coefficients obtained for each configuration are as follows: Sedan A — 0.780, Sedan B with a spoiler — 0.775, and Sedan C with an improved body geometry — 0.647. These findings suggest that optimizing body shape is more effective in enhancing the aerodynamic performance of a vehicle than the addition of external aerodynamic elements such as a spoiler.

Abstract

AbstrakPT Suntory Garuda Beverage merupakan perusahaan Joint Venture antara perusahaan manufaktur Indonesia dengan perusahaan minuman dari Jepang. Perusahaan ini telah menjadikan gudang sebagai faktor penggerak untuk memperlancar kegiatan produksi, terutama gudang material. Nilai stock accuracy gudang pada saat ini belum optimal dengan standar KPI adalah 99,95%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan akar penyebab masalah sehingga stock accuracy packaging material menjadi lebih optimal serta memberikan upaya perbaikan yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan nilai stock accuracy gudang packaging material. Jenis penelitian yang dikembangkan adalah penelitian ex-post facto yaitu pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara serta observasi langsung untuk mengamati proses yang tidak sesuai dengan SOP terkait alur dan proses pergudangan. Hasil penelitian menggunakan fishbone diagram menunjukkan penyebab utama adalah kurang pengontrolan pergerakkan material pada saat berada di ruang penyimpanan melalui stock opname harian karena jumlah tenaga operasional gudang yang berkurang. Rekomendasi perbaikan berupa sistem database stock location menggunakan Microsoft Access 2007 yang dapat digunakan sebagai pusat monitoring harian. Database ini merupakan rancangan dalam upaya meningkatkan akurasi stok gudang pengemasan. Uji coba bersama berbagai pihak yang telah direncanakan di gudang pengemasan PT Suntory Garuda Beverage perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah database ini dapat meningkatkan akurasi stok gudang.Kata Kunci: database lokasi stok, diagram tulang-ikan, keakuratan stok AbstractPT Suntory Garuda Beverage is a joint venture between an Indonesian manufacturing company and a beverage company from Japan. This company has made warehouses as a driving factor to facilitate production activities, especially warehouse material. The accuracy of the warehouse stock is still not optimal with the KPI standard is 99.95%. This study aims to find the root cause of the problem so that stock accuracy packaging material becomes more optimal and provides improvement that can be used to increase the stock accuracy of packaging materials warehouse. The type of this research is ex-post facto research where data collection is done through interviews and direct observation for any installation process that is not in accordance with the SOP regarding the flow and warehousing process. The results of the study using fishbone diagram show that the main cause is less control of material moving in the warehouse using daily stock record due to the lack of operational worker. Recommendations for improving the stock accuracy database system using Microsoft Access 2007, which can be used as a daily monitoring center. This database is a design to increase stock accuracy of packaging material warehouse. Verification by stakeholders should be carried out at the PT Suntory Garuda Beverage packaging material warehouse to verified the improvement of stock accuracy. Abstract

Pengadaan material memegang peran penting dalam terselenggaranya proses bisnis di perusahaan. Proses pengadaan material yang perusahaan lakukan biasanya ditunjang dengan fasilitas sistem informasi terintegrasi ERP seperti SAP. Khusus untuk proses procurement perusahaan menggunakan e-procurement dan SAP Material Management modul. Adanya durasi lead time yang cukup lama mengenai sampainya dari beberapa material tertentu yang dibutuhkan pabrik pada proses pengadaannya. Karena itu perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap proses pengadaan material pada implementasi SAP ERP yang sudah ada. Evaluasi akan dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Gambaran tentang bagaimana proses pengadaan material dilakukan setelah penerapan SAP diukur performance-nya dari frekuensi case dan durasi lead time. Selanjutnya ditentukan atribut data pada event log apa saja yang dibutuhkan pada penelitian dan dilanjutkan dengan ekstraksi event log. Event log kemudian akan diolah dengan tools process mining tertentu. Keluaran dari proses ini adalah model proses bisnis pengadaan yang sesungguhnya dijalankan dan terekam pada modul SAP MM. Dari hasil process mining, tidak ditemukan ketidaksesuain dan kesenjangan mayor pada proses berdasarkan prosedural pengadaan yang ditetapkan. Namun, dapat ditemukan waktu tunggu yang lama setelah create PR Doc menuju RFQ Date, rata-rata waktu mencapai 173 hari hingga PO delivery. Selain itu, ditemukan terdapat sedikit bottleneck pada waktu tertentu dimana adanya aktifitas dan case sangat banyak yang perlu ditangani oleh para user.  Penelitian ini memberikan analisa sebab akibat penyebab permasalahan tersebut baik dari hasil process mining dan kuesioner yang didapat. Perusahaan sebaiknya membuat kebijakan target waktu pengadaan dan menetapkan prosedur RFQ, pemilihan vendor yang lebih efektif sehingga dapat mempersingkat waktu proses pengadaan ini.

Abstract

This time, corn cob waste has not yet been utilized optimally, while corn cob waste is rich in pentoses and has great potential to be processed into food. There is a business opportunity for the community to process corn cob waste into crackers, in order to generate added value in addition to selling shelled corn. The problem of processing corn cob waste by the community and how to take advantage of this business opportunity can be overcome by providing processing technology and assistance in processing corn cob waste into crackers to the community. Because of this, it is necessary to increase business opportunities by taking advantage of the potential of corn cob waste to become products that can be used as additional products such as processed food products, corn cob crackers through a short training in Nagari Aie Tajun, Lubuk Alung. The evaluation results from this exercise show that the participants are very satisfied and can make this product independently so that they are encouraged to develop this product into a superior product in their hometown.
