Abstract

Creating a supportive learning environment through psychological well-being is an important indicator in achieving true happiness in the learning process, and also through project-based learning so that it plays an important role in the learning environment and the results are very real. The aim of this research is to produce the LE-Probale model syntax. The learning model components used adopt Joyce and Weil. The quality of the product developed is evaluated based on product development evaluations developed by Plomp and Neeven, which include validity by validators, practicality and effectiveness of field trials by observers. The realization of the model syntax consists of ten stages, namely: 1) Preparing an adequate learning environment; 2) Delivery of learning objectives; 3) Selecting learning materials and determining topics that students must study inductively (from examples then generalizing); 4) Meaningful understanding is linked to everyday life; 5) Provide trigger questions to observe and solve; 6) Group formation; 7) Design and complete projects related to other subjects with the help of Nila's Islamic Edumath Interactive Mobile Learning; 8) Rearrange and compare representations of project results; 9) Evaluate the resulting projects; 10) Teacher and student reflection to look back at the learning that has taken place.

Abstract

This study discusses the forecasting of the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in West Java Province using two time series approaches: Vector Autoregressive with Exogenous variables (VARX) and Support Vector Regression (SVR). The dataset consists of monthly observations from 2018 to 2023, including variables such as OUR, the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and the Human Development Index (HDI). Based on the optimal lag selection using the AIC, the VARX model produced the best lag configuration of (5,2), consisting of five lags for endogenous variables and two for exogenous variables. Meanwhile, the SVR model was developed through Grid Search to find the best parameter combination, resulting in a linear kernel with  and . The evaluation results showed that the SVR model performed better than VARX, with MSE, RMSE, and MAPE values of 0.24, 0.49, and 6%, respectively, lower than those of the VARX model, which reached 0.68, 0.82, and 8.4%. SVR was selected as the best model and used to forecast the OUR until the end of 2025. The forecast results indicated a spike in OUR at the beginning of 2024 at 8.52%, followed by a declining trend that continues and stabilizes in the range of 7.96%-8.12% by the end of 2025. In conclusion, SVR outperforms VARX in predictive accuracy, while VARX remains useful for analyzing inter-variable relationships.

Abstract

Current mathematics learning shows that problem solving often remain procedural and are not closely connected to local cultural contexts. Students generally tend to seek answers directly without going through systematic stages of problem understanding and strategy planning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the problem-solving ability of a question in the social and cultural context of local wisdom in Bojonegoro Regency. The current study was qualitative descriptive through problem-solving tests and interviews in collecting the data. The test results are then analyzed and described in relation to their problem-solving ability following Polya's steps. The respondents of this study were 6th-semester students in which they were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Two subjects were selected, namely ST (subjects chategorized with high ability) and SR (subjects with low ability). The results of the study showed that the two subject  had different ways in solving the problems in a question, where ST has structured ways in solving problems compared to SR who using Polya's steps. Another finding was that students found non-mathematical information beyond the mathematical information related to the problem. This non-mathematical information refers to the stories related to local cultural wisdom that inherent in the problem. It makes learning more meaningful and provides the students with new experiences. Contextual learning that incorporated ethnomathematics elements that acts as a bridge for the students in understanding interconnection among mathematics and their daily lives. This process  comes regarding the respect for cultural diversification, especially to empower the students in the area of cognitive, social, emotional, and political. Through ethnomathematics approach, students' understanding of mathematical concepts can be reconstructed effectively. Based on these findings, further research need to be conducted regarding to the develop other indicators of problem solving.

Abstract

Spot welding is a joining method that utilizes thermal energy generated by the resistance of electric current. Research was conducted to determine the effect of plate thickness, current and welding time on the characteristics of spot welding results. Spot welding was performed on low carbon steel plates of 0.8 mm, 1.5 mm and 1.8 mm thickness with current (50, 60, 70, 80 amperes) and welding time (10, 15, 20 seconds). Characterization of the spot welds was done by shear test (ASTM D1002-10) and observation of macro and micro structure (ASTM E3-11) and failure surface of the specimens. From the research conducted, it is known that the average shear strength increases with decreasing plate thickness, increasing welding current and decreasing welding time. The highest average shear strength of 502,772 N/mm2 was obtained with a plate thickness of 0.8 mm, a welding current of 70 A, and a welding time of 10 seconds. For thin plates, most of the shear test specimens failed in the area of the heat affected zone, while for thick plates, most of the shear test specimens failed in the area of the nugget spot weld.
