Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kinerja room attendant dalam meningkatkan pelayanan housekeeping department di JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya, untuk mengetahui kendala yang dihadapi oleh room attendant, serta solusi untuk menangani daripada kendala tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data didapat melalui observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Dalam penelitian ini menjelaskan mengenai pengaruh kinerja room attendant dalam meningkatkan pelayanan housekeeping department di JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya, baik kendala maupun solusi untuk room attendant. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, untuk meningkatkan kinerja petugas room attendant selalu melakukan pelatihan, coaching, hingga belajar bersama dengan senior yang sudah berkompeten pada bidangnya. Serta kendala yang dihadapi yaitu kekurangan linen parstock, equipment kamar yang bermasalah, serta ketersediaan chemical yang terkadang tidak ada. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja room attendant dapat mempengaruhi kepuasan pelayanan pada tamu yang menginap.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an ability needed in facing revolution 4.0 and society 5.0, so it is important for students to be equipped with these abilities. PISA results and previous studies results show that students critical thinking skills are still low, so a learning approach is needed to improve them. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on critical thinking skills of junior high school students from previous research articles. The research method used is meta-analysis. The results of the study through the calculating of the t-test and effect size obtained a value of t_hitung = 27,67 > 1,96 = t_tabel which means that the average critical thinking abilty of students with RME is higher than the average critical thinking ability of students with expository learning, so there is a significant inluence between mathematical critical thinking ability of junior high school students who use learning, with a large effect is 2,905 which is included in the interpretation’s category is very large. The implications of this research can be a reference for educators that Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) can improve junior high school students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji kinerja room boy dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan di Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort. para tamu untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan di Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menyajikan dalam bentuk deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 1 Executive Housekeeper, 1 Housekeeping Manager, 1 Assistant Housekeeping, 1 Housekeeping Supervisor dan 1 HRD. Metode yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Ditinjau dari kualitas pelayanan diketahui pula bahwa kualitas pelayanan bagian houskeeping yang diukur dengan lima dimensi kualitas pelayanan tampak antara harapan tamu dengan keinginan tamu sehingga sebagian besar tamu beranggapan bahwa kualitas pelayanan di Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort mempengaruhi kepuasan tamu di Sofitel Bali. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini pengaruh kinerja room boy sangat besar bagi Sofitel Bali, dengan kinerja room boy sesuai SOP sangat berpengaruh terhadap kualitas pelayanan. Sebagai saran, pihak housekeeping sebaiknya selalu aktif menegur room boy yang sering terlambat masuk jam kerja.

Abstract

Learning trajectory of set is a learning path to get concept of set. However, several teachers did not combine methods, approaches, and ideas in their practical deliveries. This situation becomes a concern for teachers to handle since it will affect the rule without reason so that the accepted concept will not last long in students’ memory. This study aim to describe the learning trajectory using RME models to construct the concept of set. Hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT) was designed using a qualitative method with the realistic mathematics education (RME) of Gravemeijer model as the activity stage begin from preparing for the experiment, pilot experiment, teaching experiment and retrospective analysis. The designed HLT consisted of an objective, activity, and conjecture. This study achieved an understanding of the set concept with applying RME design. By providing examples of contextual mathematics that take place in the learning environment, these outcomes were achieved. Then using media like set cards to model mathematics so that students can advance their own knowledge to the level of formal mathematics. Therefore, the RME-based HLT design can be a solution to obtain the concept of set, primarily in domain definition and set notation to produce a learning trajectory. Abstract

Teachers’ diagnostic practice on students-difficulties is one of the important steps in designing and managing classroom lessons. The purpose of this study was to explore teachers’ perception and practices regarding diagnosing students’ learning difficulties. The participants of the study were 28 Indonesian mathematics teachers of Junior High School. The data was collected through a Focus Group Discussion and a teacher questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively to describe how the teachers perceive learning difficulties and how the teachers diagnosed students’ learning difficulties. The results of the analysis reveal that the teachers do not yet perform an in-depth diagnosis of students’ difficulties in learning mathematics. The teachers only focus on the mathematics topics and non-mathematical issues, instead of on students’ thinking process. The teachers also do not differentiate the diagnosis, evaluation, and prediction test. With regard to the strategies used by the teachers to diagnose students’ difficulties, analyzing students’ responses to tests was the majority. In this respect, observing students’ learning process during classroom activities is rarely done by the teachers in the purpose of diagnosing students’ learning difficulties. The results of the diagnosis are mainly used as the basis for remedial and drill and practices. The results imply that more support is needed for teachers to improve their competences particularly in diagnosing students’ thinking process difficulties when learning mathematics.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika sangat penting bagi siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan pembelajaran dan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika di kalangan siswa Madrasah Aliyah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, melibatkan 6 siswa kelas XI dengan kategori kemampuan hafalan Alquran tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes masalah matematika dan pedoman wawancara. Tes masalah matematika mencakup empat tahap utama yaitu memahami masalah, merancang solusi, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa hasil. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah sedang, dengan kelemahan utama pada tahap memeriksa hasil. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan ini meliputi pemahaman konsep matematika, keterampilan berpikir logis, dan daya ingat siswa. Triangulasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil wawancara dan tes tertulis. Siswa dengan kemampuan hafalan rendah berada pada level unistruktural, hanya memahami masalah secara terbatas dan menyelesaikannya berdasarkan informasi yang sedikit, sehingga kesimpulan yang diambil kurang akurat. Siswa dengan kemampuan hafalan sedang berada pada level multistruktural, memahami masalah dengan baik, merencanakan penyelesaian menggunakan rumus trigonometri, namun kesulitan menghubungkan konsep-konsep matematika dengan informasi yang ada, sehingga kesimpulannya kurang tepat. Siswa dengan kemampuan hafalan tinggi mencapai level relasional. Siswa mampu menghubungkan berbagai konsep yang dipelajari, memahami hubungan antar elemen, serta menerapkannya untuk memecahkan masalah secara terpadu. Selain itu, siswa juga memeriksa kembali langkah-langkah dan jawabannya untuk memastikan kebenarannya.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) teachers in Purworejo Regency in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) as a medium for learning mathematics. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with a data triangulation method to increase the validity and reliability of the study. Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 10 mathematics teachers with various age backgrounds, teaching experiences, and levels of knowledge about AI. The results showed that the majority of teachers (80%) were familiar with AI, while the rest were still less familiar. The most frequently used AI application was Geogebra (40%), followed by Canva and Quizizz (each 20%). The main obstacles faced by teachers were the lack of adequate facilities (70%), time constraints in learning AI (10%), limited school budget (10%), and low understanding of AI (20%). In addition, teachers need ongoing technical training, AI implementation guidance, and infrastructure support, such as internet access and hardware. This study concluded that intensive training, procurement of technology facilities, and collaboration between schools and the government are essential to optimize the use of AI in mathematics learning. These findings contribute to the development of technology-based education policies for Madrasah Aliyah.

Abstract

,This study investigates the implementation of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for order takers and its implications for the efficiency of room attendants in hotel housekeeping operations, with a case study at The Alana Hotel and Convention Center Solo. Within housekeeping services, order takers play a pivotal role as intermediaries between guests and room attendants, ensuring that requests and complaints are effectively communicated. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the SOP for order takers has generally been implemented in accordance with established procedures, yet challenges remain in coordination and the timeliness of information delivery. The implementation of the SOP demonstrates a significant impact on room attendant efficiency, as reflected in improved service punctuality and a reduction in errors when responding to guest needs. The study concludes that optimizing order taker functions through clear SOP guidelines and regular training programs can enhance overall housekeeping performance. Beyond its managerial implications, this research contributes to the hospitality industry by promoting more efficient and professional service delivery. In addition, the results provide educational insights for prospective hotel employees and emphasize the importance of work ethics, teamwork, and operational effectiveness in service industries.

Abstract

The increasing urgency to address climate change has positioned Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) as a priority for governments and businesses worldwide. Technological innovations such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain have emerged as transformative tools for reducing environmental impacts, improving energy efficiency, and promoting ethical and sustainable business practices. However, the extent to which these technologies contribute to climate action remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate the role of AI, IoT, and Blockchain in helping businesses achieve SDG 13 by optimizing resources, reducing waste, and enhancing supply chain transparency. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with key stakeholders from businesses implementing these technologies, while a survey of 150 businesses was administered to capture broader adoption patterns. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that AI and IoT have significant positive effects on energy management and sustainability outcomes, while Blockchain plays a supportive role by improving transparency and ethical practices, though its adoption remains limited. The combined integration of these technologies yields the most substantial impact. This study concludes that businesses should adopt a holistic strategy to fully leverage technological innovations for advancing SDG 13 and combating climate change.
