Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine whether the CTL learning model is effective against students' mathematical communication disposition and abilities. This research is a quantitative study, the population is students of class X SMA 04 Tebing Tinggi in the academic year 2019/2020. Randomly selected two classes randomly selected namely class X MIA 2 as an experimental class using the CTL learning model and class X MIA 4 as a control class that uses a direct learning model. Data collection methods are the method of observation, tests, and disposition questionnaires. The analysis was performed using the Simple Linear Regression Test. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the influence of CTL on mathematical communication is 91.3%; (2) the effect of CTL on mathematical disposition was 52.7%; (3) communication skills in the control class are better than the experimental class; (4) the mathematical disposition of experimental class students is better than the control class; (5) mathematical disposition has a positive effect on the ability of mathematical communication in the experimental class.Keywords: contextual teaching and learning, mathematical disposition, communication ability

Abstract

The increasingly rapid development of technology and information has enabled transformation in the fields of education and teaching. This is clearly seen in the current curriculum expectations, where one of the expected learning outcomes from elementary school to middle school is that students are expected to have computational thinking skills. For this reason, the aim of this research is to look at students' abilities related to their computational thinking abilities. in solving the problems given. The results of the answers given by students are then analyzed according to the four foundations of computational thinking. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research was carried out in the Mathematics Education study program, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara in the Number Theory course. The sample used was 12 students taking Number Theory courses. The instrument used is a description of 2 questions which are given during the learning process on mathematical induction material. The students' answer sheets were then analyzed to get a picture of students' computational thinking abilities based on the four foundations. The results of this research show that students' computational thinking abilities still need to be improved, such as decomposition abilities which are 41.67% and abstraction abilities which are 58.33%. Overall, students' computational thinking abilities are still in the sufficient ability category.

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology encourages renewal efforts in the utilization of various technological results in the learning process, such as utilizing digital-based learning media. This research aims to produce e-module learning tools based on discovery learning on quadratic function material for class X SMA students that are valid, practical, and effective. The research method used is Research and Development with Thiagarajan 4-D development model: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject of this research is the production of e-modules based on the discovery learning model. The object of this research is the students of SMA Negeri 1 Purba, totaling 33 students. The instruments used in this study were validation questionnaires and student responses to the e-modules developed as well as student learning outcomes tests. The results of this study indicate that the e-Module developed has met the requirements of validity and practicality as stated in the results of the questionnaire given. In addition, the e-module developed was also declared effective based on the student learning outcomes test with an average of 78,79% and included in the good category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP dengan pendekatan Discovery Learning  pada materi perbandingan senilai dan berbalik nilai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriprif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini siswa kelas VII-2 SMPN 6 Kisaran sebanyak 32 siswa, kemudian dilakukan reduksi dengan mengambil tiga siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan penalaran tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar tes kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh hasil bahwa ketiga subjek mempunyai pemahaman yang cukup baik dengan menggunakan pendekatan Discovery Learningdalam pembelajaran. Siswa dalam kategori kemampuan penalaran tinggi mampu menguasai lima indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis. Siswa dalam kategori kemampuan penalaran sedang mampu menguasai empat indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis. Siswa dalam kategori kemampuan penalaran rendah mampu menguasai dua indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis.

Abstract

Kurangnya variasi media dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan guru pada pembelajaran matematika mengakibatkan rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran audio visual berbasis RME yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis dan self-efficacy siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan model Thiagarajan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 33 orang siswa kelas XI-E Pondok Pesantren Mawaridussalam. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah: 1) lembar validasi ahli dengan hasil validasi sebesar 91,67% dalam kategoti sangat valid; 2) Instrumen kepraktisan dengan hasil sebesar 90,40% dalam kategori sangat praktis;  3) instrument tes penalaran dengan hasil 88,89% siswa tuntas secara klasikal dan peningkatan indikator penalaran sebesar 0,22;  4) angket self-efficacy dengan hasil rata-rata penguasaan self-efficacy siswa sebesar 71,80% dalam kategori tinggi dan peningkatan indikator self-efficacy sebesar 0,51 Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran audio visual berbasis RME telah valid,praktis, dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis dan self-efficacy siswa.Kata kunci : Media Audio Visual, RME, Penalaran Matematis, Self-Efficacy

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keaktifan belajar siswa kelas VII UPTD SMP Negeri 6 Kisaran dalam pembelajaran Matematika, khususnya pada materi Perbandingan Senilai dan Perbandingan Berbalik Nilai, dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, melibatkan 32 siswa dan mengumpulkan data melalui observasi serta wawancara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa model Team Games Tournament (TGT) berhasil meningkatkan keaktifan siswa yang diukur melalui 10 indikator keaktifan. Selain itu, tingkat antusiasme siswa meningkat, dan mereka merasa lebih menyukai proses pembelajaran. Penerapan model Team Games Tournament (TGT) berhasil menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang segar, kondusif, dan mendorong partisipasi aktif siswa. Kesimpulannya, model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) efektif dalam meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa pada materi Matematika Perbandingan Senilai dan Perbandingan Berbalik Nilai di UPTD SMP Negeri 6 Kisaran.

Abstract

Several areas in Indonesia need more well-developed sanitation infrastructure. Some industries and companies use domestic wastewater disposal systems outside the leading network, a cheaper alternative to centralized systems. The sewage treatment system in these areas typically consists of a septic tank and a medium-scale household wastewater treatment plant. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of SMEC Eye Hospital's liquid waste management after it has been processed through its wastewater treatment system. This experimental research involves managing the liquid waste at SMEC Eye Hospital using an anaerobic-aerobic upflowed biofilter system. The experimental method adheres strictly to a scientific research design. The processed liquid waste is then tested in the laboratory to measure levels of pH, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), ammonia, oils and fats, and total coliform. The liquid waste from SMEC Eye Hospital was analyzed to determine if the hazardous substances had been reduced or eliminated to meet environmental safety standards. Laboratory tests on the hospital's liquid waste outlet showed that all parameters, including pH, BOD, COD, TSS, ammonia, oil and fat, and total coliform, were within the quality standard limits. To further enhance the environmental safety of the waste, seven steps can be taken to reduce levels of pH, BOD, COD, TSS, ammonia, oil and fat, and total coliform. These measures ensure that the liquid waste from the hospital does not harm the environment.

Abstract

Teachers are provided with the resources they need to incorporate project-based learning into their lesson plans through the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning paradigm. This study is based on the observation that teachers prefer printed modules over display information because they are more visually appealing. As a result, students do not want to participate in the learning process. There are currently no opportunities for students to practice critical thinking or improve their ability to articulate mathematical ideas in this curriculum. The purpose of this study was to develop a Project Based Learning (PjBL) mathematics learning module and improve students' critical thinking skills at MTs Al-Washliyah Simpang Gambus. The paradigm used to create educational resources is called the 3-D stage of Thiagarajan Development, which stands for Define, Design, and Development. Residents of MTs Al-Washliyah Simpang Gambus became study participants. Students in class VIII A and VIII B, totaling 30 and 26 students, were used as the research sample. based on the results of the validation process carried out by six validators and producing an average score of 4.44 in the very good category. The practicality test results collected through a student response questionnaire obtained an average score of 82.7 with good criteria. With an average N-Gain of 0.71, students' critical thinking skills meet high standards for test results indicating test effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to produce learning media assisted by the Prezi application on arithmetic sequences and series at SMA Swasta Teladan Medan based on valid, practical and effective criteria and can see the increase in students' mathematical literacy skills after using the developed learning media. The learning device development model used is by referring to the Thiagarajan model which consists of four stages, namely: 1) Define stage, 2) Design / design stage, 3) Development / development stage and, (4) Disseminate / Deployment. The results of the research on the development of learning media assisted by the Prezi application on arithmetic sequences and series at the Medan Teladan Private High School meet the valid criteria in the media, material and language aspects, an average score of 3.93 and is in the good category, practical in terms of convenience, attractiveness, helpfulness and problem solving with an average score of 90.33% is in the Very Practical category, and is effectively obtained through student learning outcomes tests with an average score of 85% and in the good category.Keywords: Prezi, mathematical literacy, 3-D

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis deskriptif siswa melalui integrasi strategi Think Talk Write (TTW) dan pendekatan Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kelas VII UPTD SMP Negeri 6 Kisaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa sebelum intervensi, sebagian besar siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengorganisasikan ide, kekurangan kosakata, dan memiliki kepercayaan diri yang rendah dalam menulis. Mereka juga menunjukkan keterlibatan emosional dan kolaborasi yang terbatas. Strategi TTW membantu mereka memproses ide langkah demi langkah. Dari berpikir ke berdiskusi, lalu menulis, sementara pendekatan SEL menciptakan lingkungan kelas yang mendukung dan memotivasi. Pada Siklus II, skor rata-rata meningkat dari 60,1 pada tes awal menjadi 79,3. Pada Siklus II, 19 (90,5%) siswa mencapai skor minimal 75, naik dari 2 (9,5%) pada tes awal. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi TTW dan SEL efektif dalam mengatasi tantangan kognitif dan emosional di kelas menulis. Pendekatan ini direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan kinerja akademis dan kesejahteraan emosional siswa.
