Listening is one of the most important skill in learning language for young learners, because the first way to learn language start from learning how to listen. In learning English, most of young learners in Indonesia found some difficulties to listen directly from the native speaker or from the environment, such as from young learners’ school or from young learners’ family, it happened because English is still as the second language in Indonesia which is not use in daily life. Many media uses by most of schools in Indonesia to improve young leraners’ competencies in English, for example by using some application from smartphone or by using song. Here, the researchers choose nursery rhymes song as an alternative media in improving young learners’ listening skill. The experimental research design was employed. The experimental group was taught using nursery rhymes song while the control group was taught using the conventional method. There are two classes  in the same level at six grade level from SDUT BUMI KARTINI JEPARA participated in this study, they are from maroco and mesir class. The findings indicated that nursery rhymes song significantly improved the students’ listening skill toward learning English. This study concluded that nursery rhymes song is one of media that is very effective for improving young learners’ listening skill because young learners are very happy to learn English while singing the nursery rhymes song.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa lisan anak secara kontekstual melalui pembelajaran threeliS di Lembaga PAUD Rosellana Pecangaan Jepara. Jenis penelitian yang ini yaitu jenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan anak didik pada kelompok usia 4-6 tahun yang berjumlah 27 peserta didik. Analisis dara hasil observasi meunjukkan aktivitas mengajar guru pada siklus 1 mendapat ketercapaian persentase sebesar 78,6%, aktivitas belajar peserta didik mendapatkan persentase sebesar 71,4 % sedangkan hasil belajar anak berupa peningkatan kemampuan bahasa lisan anak secara kontekstual melalui pembelajaran threeliS sebelum dilakukan tindakan sebesar 73,8%. Siklus II, persentase ketercapaian aktivitas mengajar guru mengalami peningkatan sebesar 86,7% dan hasil belajar anak berupa peningkatan kemampuan bahasa lisan anak secara kontekstual melalui pembelajaran threeliS bertambah meningkat sebesar 90,5%. ABSTRAKPengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manfaat penggunaan aplikasi GeoGebra pada mata pelajaran matematika bagi guru di tingkat Sekolah Dasar di Jakarta Selatan. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diadakan di gedung Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta dengan peserta pelatihan sebanyak 28 guru matematika Sekolah Dasar di Jakarta Selatan. Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian ini berupa pemberian pelatihan dalam bentuk workshop mengenai penggunaan dan pemanfaatan aplikasi GeoGebra pada materi Bangun Ruang. Adapun tahapan pengabdian ini terdiri dari: persiapan/ perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan refleksi. Kegiatan pelatihan ini mendapat respon positif dari peserta pelatihan, adapun manfaat yang didapat oleh peserta pelatihan adalah menumbuhkan minat guru dalam menggunakan aplikasi GeoGebra pada proses pembelajaran Matematika di kelas, menambah wawasan bagi guru untuk membuat media pembelajaran berbasis ICT yang lebih menyenangkan dengan menghasilkan ilustrasi benda tiga dimensi sehingga dapat meningkatkan daya tangkap siswa, mempermudah guru dalam menyampaikan konsep matematika yang abstrak menjadi lebih konkret, memudahkan guru dalam membuat soal mengenai bangun ruang. Kata kunci—GeoGebra, Pembelajaran Matematika, Bangun Ruang, ICT.

This ethnographic case study delves into the intricate reading habits of a fifth-semester EFL learner, exploring the multifaceted dynamics of her engagement with both fiction and non-fiction literature. The research unfolds the pivotal role of early exposure to reading, fostered by parental encouragement, in shaping a lifelong commitment to literary pursuits. The participant's diverse reading practices, encompassing print and e-books, reflect a nuanced approach to language acquisition and vocabulary enrichment. The study reveals a positive correlation between extensive reading habits and academic performance, particularly in TOEFL reading comprehension and overall language proficiency. The participant's transition from composing stories in Indonesian to writing in English, coupled with the abandonment of subtitles while engaging with English media, underscores the transformative impact of sustained reading habits on language skills. This research not only enhances the understanding of individual reading behaviors but also emphasizes broader implications for language development, academic success, and the cultivation of writing skills. Further research should investigate the unique impacts of different genres on language acquisition, the influence of digital platforms on reading behaviors, and how reading intersects with socioeconomic and cultural factors. A longitudinal study tracking individuals from infancy to adulthood might uncover the long-term impacts of early literacy. Further investigation is required to explore the impact of personalized reading programs in EFL courses on language proficiency and academic performance. Further research in this field can potentially enhance EFL teaching and overall progress.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi fenomena peranan budaya literasi pada tingkat pendidikan dasar dan menengah, khususnya di sekolah penggerak, dengan fokus pada kontribusi sekolah dalam membentuk budaya literasi yang berkelanjutan. Pendekatan fenomenologi digunakan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman mendalam tentang pengalaman dan makna budaya literasi di lingkungan sekolah. Melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis dokumen, penelitian ini melibatkan pendidik dan siswa sebagai subjek utama. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tema dan subtema yang muncul dari data kualitatif. Pemahaman tentang konsep budaya literasi, peran pendidik, dan dampak budaya literasi pada sekolah penggerak menjadi fokus utama penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini sekolah penggerak telah melakukan upaya internalisasi budaya literasi disekolah, hal ini berdampak pada skor literasi disekolah diatas kemampuan literasi minimal. Literasi yang terbangun terfokus pada literasi membaca dan menulis. Kendala yang muncul dalam pengembangan literasi yang lain terletak pada akses pengembangan kemampuan guru berfokus pada diversifikasi kegiatan budaya literasi selain itu perlu pemenuhan terhadap diversifikasi jenis buka dengan mempertimbangkan keminatan siswa.

Students find writing to be a most difficult talent to master because it takes longer to develop and often causes issues for them. Project-based learning is provided to address current writing issues. Certain experts contend that project-based learning (PBL) possesses the capacity to inspire students to learn new things through their assignments. This study of project-based learning is being utilized to teach writing. The goal of the research does not equate to utilizing Project-Based Learning (PBL) in the Merdeka Curriculum to teach English writing. This study's research design combines classroom action research with qualitative research methodologies. Researchers employ interviews, field notes, and observation as tools. 28 pupils from Al-Azhar Islamic Middle School in Kedung's class VII A participated in this study. According to research data, students' writing skills scored an average of 66 out of 75 in cycle 1, with the highest possible score of 75. In the second cycle, students' writing ability increased to an average of 75, with a maximum score of 74. Consequently, it was discovered that a project-based learning approach to teaching writing is being implemented. This is evident from the students' replies when this strategy was applied; they actively participated in the learning process and had good comments about the method. Project-based learning (PBL) has been demonstrated to improve students' writing. In addition, students work on real-world problems and provide solutions as part of the assignments. Put differently, this project possesses the capacity to foster students' critical thinking skills and provide them with a sense of purpose.

This study aims to determine and examine the effects of using a smartphone while learning English. Motivation, teamwork, and portability were among the effects. The researchers investigated the impact of smartphones on English language learning, a qualitative method used in this research. The study's social context comprised fourth-semester English language education students from Ftik Unisnu Jepara. Twenty students who owned smartphones were used as research subjects. The instruments of the research used Interviews and questionnaires. According to the students' perceptions, the study's findings indicated that their use of smartphones affected their motivation, mobility, and teamwork when studying English. Additionally, using a smartphone could help them learn English more effectively. The findings of this study were corroborated by Barker's idea regarding the effects of smartphone use on learning English. However, there were drawbacks to smartphone use as well. For example, students could use their devices to cheat because they were portable, had a tendency to act quickly, and eventually developed an addiction to them.

Science education at the elementary level often faces challenges, especially in abstract topics such as magnetism, electricity, and technology. This study aims to analyze the need for the use of a bilingual PopUp Book in improving elementary students’ science literacy and English proficiency. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with a survey approach, involving 4 teachers and 40 students from four elementary schools in Jepara Regency. Data collection instruments included questionnaires and interviews, which were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that 70% of students had difficulty understanding science topics, and 80% of students expressed a strong interest in using interactive PopUp Books. Additionally, 75% of teachers supported the use of bilingual media to enhance science and English literacy. However, challenges related to students' varying English proficiency levels were identified. In conclusion, the bilingual PopUp Book has great potential to improve elementary students' science and English literacy, provided that teachers receive adequate training and language usage is adjusted to the students' proficiency

Introduction/ Main Objectives: Today's complex global challenges demand that young people develop robust leadership skills, critical thinking abilities, and respectful conduct to address emerging issues effectively. This study aimed to explore the implementation of Interactive game-based learning in building the leadership capacity of students in elementary schools. Background problem: This research is conducted in response to the deficiency in character values and inadequate literacy and numeracy skills among elementary school students. Novelty: This research study elaborates in-depth on the leadership character values that can be applied to elementary school students through game-based learning. Research Method: This research uses a descriptive qualitative method in the form of a case study with a participant observation approach. The study was conducted in 5 elementary schools that are partner schools of the Kampus Mengajar Program in Jepara Regency. Findings/Result: This research shows that the implementation of interactive game-based learning in building students' leadership skills is carried out through four innovative game activities. First, the Harkasi Game (literacy treasure) stimulates leadership values of responsibility and cooperation. Second, the Hitari Game promotes leadership values of self-confidence and critical thinking. Third, the Siberta Game educates leadership values such as creative thinking and empathy. Fourth, the Ultrasi Game stimulates leadership values of honesty and creative thinking. Conclusion: Overall, the interactive game-based learning implemented in the partner elementary schools of the Kampus Mengajar Program has a positive impact on students, with 83% of 53 students showing improved leadership skills. Thus, it can be a solution to build leadership abilities.

Pelatihan pengembangan bahan ajar bilingual berbasis sains bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun dan mengimplementasikan bahan ajar yang mengintegrasikan bahasa Inggris dan ilmu pengetahuan alam di SDN 3 Sekuro. Masalah yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya kemampuan guru dalam menerapkan pendekatan bilingual dan kontekstual secara bersamaan. Kegiatan ini mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan melalui survei awal, pelatihan berbasis praktik, serta simulasi pengajaran menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan penerapan strategi pengajaran bilingual oleh guru, terutama dalam penggunaan bahasa Inggris dan penerapan konsep sains secara kontekstual. Selain itu, pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kepercayaan diri guru dalam mengajar bilingual serta memperkuat keterlibatan mereka dalam proses pengajaran. Namun, tantangan terkait variasi kemampuan bahasa siswa memerlukan dukungan berkelanjutan. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi sekolah lain dalam menerapkan pengajaran bilingual berbasis sains.
