Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of hygienic design to utilize the excess supply of cayenne pepper during the peak harvest season, where many harvests are not absorbed into the market. Meanwhile, during the harvest in the off-season, the amount of chili harvest is unable to meet market demand, resulting in a spike in the price of cayenne pepper. The spike in the price of cayenne pepper has quite high variability, where the lowest price is IDR 15,000.00 but the highest price can reach IDR 100,000.00. With the implementation of the use of the DrySter Eco House drying house, farmers can store excess harvest results when prices drop and process them as dried cayenne pepper supplies and then sell them when the supply of fresh cayenne pepper on the market is low and the selling price is high. The DrySter Eco House greenhouse system relies on solar energy as the main source. This approach utilizes a greenhouse structure equipped with temperature and humidity control technology, as well as air circulation assistance that utilizes energy from solar panels to maintain optimal conditions during the drying process. By using greenhouse technology, the water content of cayenne pepper can be reduced significantly in a shorter time compared to conventional open drying methods. The use of renewable energy not only reduces operational costs, but also supports environmental sustainability and is able to maintain the quality of dried cayenne pepper. This study includes trials and measurements of several variables, such as temperature and drying time, to compare the results of conventional drying with drying using the DrySter Eco House prototype. With the supply of cayenne pepper from prospective harvest waste, farmers can stabilize the supply of chili during the off-season while also obtaining additional income from the sale of dried chili.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of community service programmes in shaping the social character of students at the Abdul Hadi Diwek Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. The background of this study is based on the challenges of globalisation, which has the potential to weaken the values of empathy, responsibility, and social awareness, even in Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, community service programmes are seen as a strategic medium for strengthening character education based on real experiences. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consist of Islamic boarding school caregivers, the head of Madrasah Diniyah, and santri who are involved in teaching and cooperatives. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analysed using interactive reduction, presentation, and conclusion-drawing techniques. Data validity was maintained through triangulation of sources and methods. The results showed that the implementation of the community service programme took place in three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. The planning stage was carried out systematically by setting objectives and dividing the areas of service according to the students' abilities. The implementation was structured with assignments at Madrasah Diniyah and cooperatives, which fostered discipline and responsibility. Evaluation was carried out periodically through deliberations and guidance from supervisors, so that students could improve their shortcomings while strengthening their strengths.

Abstract

Abstract: Polyester (Polyester) is a type of thermosetting polymer material, namely a type of material where the formation of bonds is assisted by heat, catalysts or a combination thereof. This matrix can produce matrix-reinforcement compatibility by controlling the factors of type and number of components, catalyst, time and temperature. It is creep resistant, suitable as an adhesive for heavy-duty structures, and can withstand extreme conditions of heat, radiation, humidity and chemical resistance. Sound is a pressure deviation in the delivery medium due to energy propagated in the form of waves by a vibration source (Latifa, 2015). The sound absorption coefficient (α) is a number that shows the material's ability to absorb sound energy. The greater the coefficient, the higher the absorption capacity. This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of noise dampening composites of polyester resin and coconut fiber. The results of this composite acoustic test were obtained for samples of 20 grams, 30 grams and 40 grams of coconut fiber, it can be seen that the lowest sound dampening ability/coefficient of absorption (α) was -0.006 for a sample of 20 grams of coconut fiber with a frequency of 125 Hz and the highest was 0.428 for a sample of 40 grams. grams of coconut fiber at a frequency of 1000 Hz. Abstract

The oil and gas industry plays a crucial role in meeting global energy needs, with crude oil from production wells being the primary product of upstream operations. Prior to further processing, crude oil requires pretreatment at the production site, one of the key stages being phase separation using a flash separator. This study examines the effect of variations in cooling temperature on the performance of liquid phase separation and energy requirements in the flash separation process of light hydrocarbons. The analysis was conducted through process simulation using Aspen HYSYS version 14.2 with the Peng Robinson property package. The feed stream had a mass rate of 10,000 kg per hour, a temperature of 50°F, and atmospheric pressure, with compositions of ethane, propane, isobutane, and normal butane. The process configuration included compression, cooling, and phase separation in a flash separator at a constant pressure of 50 psia. Variations in cooling temperature were applied at 20, 10, and 0°C. The simulation results indicated a thermodynamic critical point at 10°C. At 20°C, no liquid phase was formed, while at 10°C, significant liquid yield was obtained with moderate energy consumption. Lowering the temperature to 0°C dramatically increases liquid recovery, but the cooling energy requirement also increases sharply. Sensitivity analysis confirms a strong inverse relationship between temperature and condensation yield, as well as a surge in energy consumption at low temperatures. The optimal operating condition is set at 10°C, providing a balance between separation efficiency and energy efficiency in accordance with sustainable manufacturing principles.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a pesantren community service program and its role in shaping students’ social character at Pondok Pesantren Abdul Hadi Diwek Jombang. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research explores how community service (khidmah) functions as a practical strategy for character education in Islamic boarding schools. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving pesantren leaders, madrasah administrators, and students participating in the community service program. The data were analysed using an interactive qualitative analysis model, while data credibility was ensured through triangulation of sources and methods. The findings indicate that the community service program is systematically implemented through educational activities and pesantren services, such as teaching at Madrasah Diniyah and managing the pesantren cooperative. These activities contribute significantly to the formation of students’ social character, including responsibility, social care, cooperation, tolerance, and service ethics. Direct involvement in real social roles enables students to internalize Islamic values through continuous practice rather than normative instruction alone. Leadership exemplified by the pesantren leader and a strong communal culture are identified as key supporting factors in the program's effectiveness. This study contributes to the discourse on pesantren-based character education by positioning community service as a structured and applicable pedagogical approach for developing students’ social character. However, this research is limited to a single pesantren context, suggesting the need for future comparative and longitudinal studies.
