Abstract

Abstract:Certified teachers already have professional abilities and can construct learning media. This study describes the critical thinking process of certified teachers in constructing learning media based on critical thinking theory from Ennis, and student learning outcomes after using learning media from teachers. This research is combined research in sequential form, namely researchers using qualitative research and then continuing with quantitative research. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, test questions, and documentation. Data validity using time triangulation. The results showed that teachers have succeeded in constructing learning media through the critical thinking process in Trigonometry learning using PPT Hyperlink media. Student learning outcomes tend to be homogeneous compared to previous meetings with an average learning outcome of 79.00. This research can still be developed by increasing the number of research subjects with different sexes to facilitate the influence of gender differences in classroom learning activities. Abstrak:Guru bersertifikasi telah memiliki kemampuan profesional dan mampu mengkonstruksi media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan proses berpikir kritis guru bersertifikasi dalam mengkonstruksi media pembelajaran berdasarkan teori berpikir kritis dari Ennis, hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran dari guru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian gabungan dalam bentuk sekuensial yaitu peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif kemudian dilanjutkan dengan penelitian kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, soal tes dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi waktu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan guru telah berhasil mengkonstruksi media pembelajaran melalui proses berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran Trigonometri menggunakan media PPT Hyperlink. Hasil belajar siswa cenderung homogen dibanding pertemuan sebelumnya dengan rata-rata hasil belajar 79,00. Penelitian ini masih dapat dikembangkan dengan menambah jumlah subjek penelitian dengan jenis kelamin yang berbeda untuk memfasilitasi pengaruh perbedaan gender dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-comic-based teaching module to enhance students’ mathematical argumentation skills on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV), referring to the Toulmin Argumentation Framework (data, claim, warrant, backing, rebuttal, and qualifier). The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE development model. It was conducted at one of the public junior high schools in Jombang, East Java, Indonesia, involving 25 students and two teachers as respondents. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, questionnaires for teachers and students, and a mathematical argumentation skills test developed based on the elements of the Toulmin framework. The effectiveness was evaluated using a one-group pretest–posttest approach, in which all participants were given mathematical argumentation tests before and after learning with the e-comic module. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test with SPSS to determine significant differences between the pre-test and post-test results. The expert validation results showed that the e-comic-based module obtained an average score of 94.23%, categorized as very valid, indicating strong content alignment, instructional design quality, and classroom applicability. The practicality test revealed that teacher responses averaged 94% and student responses 82%, both categorized as very practical, demonstrating that the module is easy to use, engaging, and relevant to students’ learning needs. The effectiveness test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), which reflects the module’s potential to enhance students’ mathematical argumentation skills. Pedagogically, the integration of the Toulmin framework in the e-comic context effectively helps students construct logical, structured, and evidence-based mathematical arguments through contextual narrative visualization. This approach also enhances students’ motivation, engagement, and reflective thinking during the learning process. Therefore, the developed e-comic-based teaching module is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ mathematical argumentation skills and in supporting active, reflective, and meaningful mathematics learning.    Keywords: teaching module, digital technology, e-comic, mathematical argumentation skills.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kemampuan argumentasi matematis siswa masih rendah karena proses pembelajaran di kelas cenderung berfokus pada hasil akhir bukan pada proses menyusun argumen. Hal ini mengakibatkan siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun argumen yang valid dan logis, terutama ketika diminta menjelaskan proses berpikir atau mendukung jawaban dengan alasan yang tepat. Tujuan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan modul ajar berbasis e-comic terhadap kemampuan argumentasi matematis siswa. Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis Quasi Experiment Design, dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Jogoroto. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX dengan jumlah 25 siswa. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar tes kemampuan argumentasi matemaris siswa yang terdiri dari pre-test dan post-test. Data analisis menggunakan sofware spss yaitu uji normalitas dan uji t berpasangan. Uji t digunakan untuk mengetahui signifikasi perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah menggnakan modul ajar berbasis e-comic. Hasil: penelitian dengan menggunakan sofware spss menunjukkan nilai signifikasi (Sig.2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05. Kesimpulan: sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara hasil pre-test dan post-test. Dengan demikian penggunaan modul ajar berbasis e-comic dapat meningkatkan kemampuan argumentasi matematis siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning learning model using the steam approach (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) on students' computational thinking abilities. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental research methods. The population in this study were class VIII SMP A. Wahid Hasyim Tebuireng with a sample of class VIII-I as the experimental class and class VIII-C as the control class. The experimental group was treated using the Discovery Learning model with the STEAM approach while the control group used the conventional model. The instrument used is a test sheet. Data analysis techniques using the t test. Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained by calculating using IBM SPSS25 between the samples that were given the treatment of the Discovery Learning learning model with the STEAM approach in the experimental class and the control class, the output results were Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.020. This means that the sig value of 0.046 <0.05 means H0 is rejected, so it is said that there are differences in students' computational thinking abilities between those who take the Discovery Learning model learning the STEAM approach and those who take conventional learning. Then there is the influence of the STEAM approach Discovery Learning model on students' computational thinking skills.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe the soft skill development of students in learning mathematics. This research was conducted at MTsN 9 Jombang in the even semester of the 2022/2023 school year. Prospective subjects are students of class IXC, totaling 29 students. Next, one subject is selected who has the highest soft skills score to be analyzed in depth and comprehensively. The main instrument is the researcher himself and the supporting instruments include problem solving test sheets, observation guides and interview guides. Data collection techniques using problem-solving tests about Prism, observation and in-depth interviews. The credibility of the data in this study uses source triangulation. The technical stages of data analysis include data reduction, data presentation, and the last step is conclusion. The results showed that the development of verbal mathematical communication soft skills was in the high category, and the development of non-verbal mathematical communication soft skills was in the high category. Development of creative soft skills in the medium category. Development of critical thinking soft skills in the high category. Development of soft skills to solve problems in the high category. Development of stress management soft skills in the high category. Soft skills collaboration in the high category. Time management soft skills in the high category.
