Abstract

The development of technology to improve effective, efficient, and comprehensive mental health care services have now been carried out, one of which is the development of Virtual Reality Therapy (VR) in mental health services to achieve optimal health by creating the illusion of living in virtual reality. This article aimed to find out the application of technology-based Virtual Reality Therapy (VR) in mental health care services and modifications that might be made by reviewing the existing limitations. A scoping review was written based on identifying scientific articles in three databases, namely Science Direct, Pubmed NCBI, and Proquest, using the terms Virtual Reality Therapy, Mental Health, and Nursing. The author carried out the selection and analysis process using PRISMA based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria determined by the researcher, and a total of 15 articles were analyzed.  The use of technology-based Virtual Reality Therapy in psychiatric nursing has been shown to have a positive impact on the condition of psychological health problems, including reducing anxiety, changing moods, emotions, empathy, reducing stress, loneliness. Therapy delivery system and allows for program modifications.  Virtual Reality Therapy has a positive impact on improving one's mental health. It is necessary to develop modifications in VR implementation to achieve optimal physical and psychological health

Abstract

Background: Chemotherapy can result in toxicity that can affect the nutritional status of cancer patients. Symptoms that are side effects of chemotherapy include anorexia, changes in taste, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, stomatitis, and constipation, which can lead to inadequate food intake and consequently result in malnutrition in cancer patients. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the influence of nutrition management of online self-help groups (SHGs) on the nutritional status of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.Method: The research results indicated an increase in the number of patients with wellnourished status after the intervention, specifically from 42.9% to 54.3%, with a p-value of 0.046, signifying that there was an impact of the self-help group on the nutritional status of cancer patients. Results: There was a significant influence of online SHGs intervention on the nutritional status of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Therefore, this intervention can be considered as one of the alternatives for improving nutritional management in cancer patients. Conclusion: The identification of CA-125 levels in diagnosing ovarian cancer in ovarian tumor patients with suspected malignancy was a promising test with high diagnostic accuracy levels.

Abstract

Abstract

Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability that profoundly impacts the physical and psychological well-being of survivors. Psychological resilience is a crucial adaptive capacity that facilitates recovery in post-stroke patients. This study aimed to examine the relationships between self-efficacy, social support, and resilience among post-stroke survivors. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 84 stroke patients attending the Neurology Clinic at a general hospital in Surakarta. Participants were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Stroke Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (SSEQ), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC 10). Spearman’s correlation analysis was applied to assess the relationships between variables. The results indicated a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and resilience (p < 0.01; r = 0.572). Social support was also positively correlated with resilience, though with a smaller effect size (p < 0.01; r = 0.296). Conclusion both self-efficacy and social support play significant roles in enhancing resilience among post-stroke survivors. Nursing interventions aimed at enhancing self-efficacy and reinforcing social support are essential for improving resilience in post-stroke survivors.

Abstract

Australasian Triage Scale (ATS) is a tool used by emergency department nurses to assess a patient's health status and prioritise services based on the severity of the patient's condition. Clinical Reasoning skills are cognitive processes in the form of theoretical applications and clinical abilities of a nurse in evaluating, diagnosing, and providing nursing care for patients based on information and condition. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using learning tools by using media Disc Triage Assessment to improve clinical reasoning skills using ATS triage. Method: The research method used was quasi-experimental without control group design. A total of 193 nursing diploma students who passed the Emergency Nursing course were selected using purposive sampling. Therefore, the sample is 35 students. Data analysis was performed using Wilcoxon test. Result: The results were significant improvements across five domains of Nurses Clinical Reasoning Skills (NCRS): Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Implementation, and Evaluation, all with p-values < 0.05. Conclusions: This has a significant positive effect on improving students' clinical reasoning skills in determining triage ATS. This shows can be effective in improving the ability of students to determine triage levels and make informed clinical decisions.

Abstract

Obesity in adolescents is a rising health issue that can lead to metabolic and psychological problems. This study aims to identify the relationship between physical activity and emotional eating with the occurrence of  obesity in adolescents. A quantitative non-experimental study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. The sample consisted of 72 students from grades X and XI with a BMI ≥ 23, selected using random sampling. Data were collected using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and the Dutch Eating  Behavior Questionnaire, along with anthropometric measurements to assess BMI. Data analysis was performed using Spearman’s rho test with SPSS. The majority of adolescents with low physical activity levels were classified as Obese 2 (BMI ≥ 30), and high emotional eating was also significantly associated with obesity. Both variables showed a significant correlation with p-values < 0.05. Low physical activity and high emotional eating are major risk factors for obesity in adolescents. It is recommended that schools and government authorities enhance physical activity programs and emotional management education to prevent obesity. Support from family and the environment is also crucial to reinforce healthy lifestyles among adolescents.
