Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating the use of Edmodo, an online learning platform in a Garuda Maintenance Facility class in Electronic Engineering study program of State Polytechnic of Malang. In addition, students? perception toward the use of Edmodo is also explored to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of Edmodo. This study also investigated teacher about activities that have been done via Edmodo. The activities done by students via Edmodo are presented in the result of this study to inspire other teachers about how to use Edmodo effectively. This  study is a case study since it describes and analyzes a group in a classroom setting to gain understanding through activities done in the classroom.  Survey and interviews were used to collect the data about students? perception and the description of classroom activities. The results show that students have positive perceptions towards the use of Edmodo since it accomodates their need to apply technology in their learning. In addition, it can also encourage shy students who tend to be discouraged when interact and participate without the aid of online tool in the classroom. Students also mention some obstacles encountered during the use of Edmodo such as slow internet connection and limited data package that is required to connect to the internet. However, it can be concluded that the implementation of Edmodo in GMF class gained positive response. In addition, students also appreciated various activities that were conducted via Edmodo. It can be added that Edmodo as a learning platform is not only used to replace lecturer?s absence, but it can accomodate various learning activities that can increase communication skills in English.

Abstract

Artikel ini mendeskripsikan penggunaan digital photograph dalam pengajaran Bahasa Indonesia tingkat menengah di Polandia. Dengan menggunakan foto digital yang memediasi antar budaya (diadopsi dari Kusumaningputri dan Widodo) kegiatan ini meliputi fase (1) mengumpulkan digital yang sarat budaya foto, (2) mengamati foto yang dipilih, (3) mendeskripsikan teks visual ini, (4) membandingkan dan membandingkan teks fotografi, dan (5) mengevaluasi informasi / data yang berkaitan dengan foto-foto yang dipilih yang menggambarkan realitas sosiokultural. kegiatan ini membutuhkan persiapan yang cukup matang dan serius bagi pemelajar bahasa, khususnya untuk mengumpulkan informasi, mencari gambar (memilih dan memilah gambar yang sesuai dengan topik), kemudian menginterpretasi gambar dan menceritakannya di kelas. Melalui fase yang panjang ini mahasiswa membutuhkan alokasi waktu yang cukup banyak yang harus mereka investasikan dalam proses pembelajaran. Persepsi mahasiswa menggambarkan refleksi positif terhadap penggunaan foto digital untuk pembelajaran BIPA. Pemelajar Bahasa Indonesia memiliki motivasi yang tinggi dalam belajar dikarenakan melampaui fase pembelajaran mandiri dan aktif pada saat mereka di kelas. Hal ini mendukung perkembangan bahasa mereka secara terarah dan baik.

Abstract

Ditengah menggeliatnya industri film di Indonesia, kebutuhan akan subtitling tak bisa dihindari. Subtitling, atau terjemahan film, berfungsi membantu penikmat film dalam memahami cerita. Makalah ini mengupas uniknya penerjemahan film dan mengevaluasi ketepatan penerjemahan dalam film “Sex and the City”, suatu serial drama komedi TV HBO yang terkenal. Pendekatan pragmatik dilakukan dalam mengevaluasi ketepatan terjemahannya dan dibuktikan bahwa kualitasnya baik. Meskipun demikian, beberapa ungkapan yang syarat dengan muatan budaya seperti ungkapan humor dan vulgar hendaklah menjadi perhatian seorang subtitler untuk memelihara aspek pragmatiknya disamping mereka juga harus mempertimbangkan ruang dan waktu (segi tampilan) dalam subtitling.

Abstract

This community service is aimed at accommodating the needs of the Tulus Besar village community, Tumpang District in improving the ability to manage natural tourist attractions and the potential of tourist villages in the Tulus Besar tourist village area by involving tourism business actors (travel agents) to increase tourist visits, both local and foreign. Participants in this training are tourism business actors in Tulus Besar village. Through this activity, it is hoped that there will be an increase in the economic value of tourism and arts potential as well as the quality of human resources for the managers of the tourist village through increasing the ability to manage tourist attractions and tourist villages owned by the Tulus Besar village community. This activity was carried out in five stages, namely planning (to find out the number of participants who are involved and the materials needed for the training), coordination to do a survey, survey with village officials and travel agents (to ensure the plans made are by needs), Focus Group Discussion, monitoring and evaluation (giving questionnaires to training participants regarding training implementation and materials).

Abstract

In this modern era, doing business requires a marketing strategy to market a product. One good marketing method is to utilize a customer database. A database is a collection of data or information stored systematically. Meanwhile, the customer database is data that contains customer personal information, such as name, email, telephone number, age, gender, product search history, transaction history and other demographic and psychographic data. This database can be used to build and maintain a business, as well as establishing good relationships with customers. As Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the hope is that they can keep up with developments by becoming familiar with data. When you are data literate, it will make it easier for MSMEs to develop their business in this digital era. The customer database will help MSMEs reach more consumers. Utilizing data coupled with knowledge in processing customer databases is one of the keys to successfully managing a business. As an MSME actor, you must also be able to use data optimally. The Sanan tempeh chips center, as one of the areas in Malang City, is the center of a home industry that produces tempeh chips that are still surviving in this global era. The aim of this research is to help MSMEs to manage customer databases, business actors know and of course create the best business strategies
