Abstract

Fractions are part of mathematical material that is difficult for elementary school teachers to teach which results in students not being able to solve problems related to the concept and arithmetic operation of fractions. The aim of this study is to improve the learning outcomes and the activeness of students in computing the addition and subtraction of fractions using folding paper. This research is a class action research using the design of Kemmis & McTaggart. The subjects of this study included students in Grade V of three elementary schools, with a total of 170 research subjects. The data were collected by using test and observation techniques. The test instrument used was eight items in the form of descriptions to measure mathematics learning outcomes, while observations were made by the observer using observation sheets to measure student activity in learning using folding paper. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive technique with a minimum of 85% classical completeness criteria with a score of 75 for learning outcomes and the activeness of students at least in the active category. Based on the implementation of two-cycle learning, the results show that the learning outcomes of students have improved from cycle I to cycle II, with criteria for completeness exceeding the permitted requirements. Similar to the student activeness data increased from the fairly active category in the first cycle to the very active category in the second cycle. Thus it can be said that the use of folding paper can enhance the students' activeness and learning outcomes in the computation of the addition and subtraction of fractions. So it is suggested that teachers as innovators have the awareness to innovate in material knowledge content and use teaching aids in learning.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSampah adalah suatu bahan yang terbuang dari sumber hasil aktivitas manusia maupun proses alam yang belum memiliki nilai ekonomis. Sebenarnya sampah dapat dimanfatkan menjadi sesuatu yang bernilai kembali dan menunjang perekonomian masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, perlu program untuk mengedukasi mengenai tata cara dan pemanfaatan sampah agar dikreasikan menjadi barang yang berguna. Pengelolaan sampah ini didasarkan pada prinsip 3R (Reduce, Reduse, dan Recycle). Metode pelatihan yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah sosialisasi dan pendampingan mengenai cara pembuatan kerajinan merangkai bunga dari limbah plastik. Melalui kegiatan ini masyarakat dapat mempelajari dan mengembangkan berbagai bentuk kerajinan bunga dari limbah plastik yang sering dijumpai pada saat berbelanja, sehingga tidak hanya dibuang ketika telah dipakai tetapi dapat di daur ulang menjadi produk baru yang bernilai. Kegiatan ini ditujukan untuk mengurangi sampah, mengedukasi, menambah keterampilan, dan memberi nilai ekonomis demi kesejahteraan masyarakat. Produk yang akan dihasilkan dalam kegiatan ini adalah bunga plastik yang dibuat dengan memanfaatkan limbah plastik Hasilnya, masyarakat dapat memberdayakan potensi yang ada agar lebih paham dan dapat menerapkan pengolahan sampah secara bijak.Kata Kunci: ekonomis, pelatihan, pengolahan sampahABSTRACTGarbage is a material that is wasted from sources resulting from human activities and natural processes that do not yet have economic value. Waste can be used as something that has value and supports the community's economy. Therefore, a program is needed to educate about the procedures and utilization of waste to be turned into valuable goods. This waste management is based on the 3R (Reduce, Reduce, and Recycle) principles. The training method used in this community service is socialization and assistance in making flower arranging crafts from plastic waste. Through this activity, the community can learn and develop various flower crafts from plastic waste that are often encountered when shopping. They are not only thrown away when they have been used but can be recycled into new, valuable products. This activity aims to reduce waste, educate, increase skills, and provide economic value for the welfare of the community. The product that will be produced in this activity is plastic flowers which are made by utilizing plastic waste.Keywords: economical, training, waste management

Abstract

In learning activities in the classroom, the problems that are often faced by elementary school students are low mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to explain the effect of the Problem Based Learning Learning model on the Mathematics learning outcomes of students at SDI Watu Wangka, Pacar District, West Manggarai Regency. This research is an experimental research using a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all students of SDI Watu Wangka, totaling 228 students, while the sample was 34 students of class IV. The sampling technique used was Purposive Sampling. The data analysis technique used statistical test using t-test. The results showed that the Problem-Based Learning model had a significant effect on the Mathematics learning outcomes of SDI Watu Wangka students. This can be seen from t0 > tα with a significant level of 0.05, which is obtained t0 = 2.12 and tα = 2.03 so that H0 is rejected or H1 is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model has a significant effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of SDI Watu Wangka students. That is, the mathematics learning outcomes of students who are taught using the problem based learning model are higher than the mathematics learning outcomes of students who are taught using conventional learning models.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang melibatkan proses mental dan fisik melalui interaksi antarsiswa, siswa dengan guru, lingkungan dan sumber belajar lainnya untuk pencapaian suatu kompetensi. Rencana pelakanaan pembelajaran (RPP) memiliki peran penting dalam menuntun guru pada pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran yang memuat langkah-langkah pembelajaran yang sistematis. Kebijakan baru menteri Nadiem yang tertuang dalam surat edaran No. 14 tahun 2019 tentang penyederhanaan administrasi pembelajaran khususnya terkait rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) kurikulum 2013 menjadi model RPP 1 lembar atau disebut sebagai RPP merdeka belajar. Penyederhanaan bertujuan agar guru lebih memprioritaskan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran, tidak dibebankan oleh administrasi pembelajaran mengingat guru sendiri telah mengetahui komponenkomponen pembelajaran lainnya. Jika dicermati, penyederhanaan komponen RPP kurikulum 2013 mengadaptasi model yang dikembangkan oleh Glaser yang merupakan model dasar dalam menyusun RPP dangan cakupan komponennya yaitu tujuan, prosedur pembelajaran, dan penilaian. Kegiatan pelatihan penyusunan RPP merdeka belajar di SDN ules berdampak positif terhadap pemahaman guru tentang konsep merdeka belajar, mampu menyusun model RPP merdeka belajar yang memerdekakan siswa dan guru.

Abstract

This meta-analysis was conducted to summarize the evidence linking the influence of Contextual Teaching-Learning (CTL) on students' mathematical abilities. The research data was obtained from the ERIC database, sage publishing, Scopus database, semantic scholarships, and google scholarships. The 26 studies that met the inclusion requirements were analyzed to obtain an estimate of effectiveness and examined the extent to which the effect of CTL was moderated by year of study, level of education, sample size, and publication source. The random-effect model is estimated, and data processing uses the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software. The results showed the overall effect size of the study was 0.88 (large effect). The moderator analysis results revealed that the implementation of CTL was moderated by the variables of education level and publication source. On the other hand, the studies' heterogeneity reflects that there are still other moderating variables associated with the effectiveness of CTL. The study's limitations and implications are discussed as the basic idea for the implementation of further research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi guru terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan moda daring di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel adalah 10 guru sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di 10 sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Pacar Kabupaten Manggarai Barat. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angkert yang terdiri atas 25 butir pertanyaan terkait impelementasi pembelajaran online di tengah pandemi Covid-19 yang terlebih dahulu dilakukan uji coba untuk menguji validitas dan reliabilitas instrument. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas instrumen diketahui bahwa  instrumen persepsi guru semuanya dinyatakan valid dengan koefisien reliabilitas adalah 0.84 dalam kategori tinggi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  berdasarkan hasil analisis Pengisian angket oleh responden terhadap 25 item instrumen angket dengan tiga dimensi yaitu dimensi bahan ajar reratanya 2,84 dimensi interaksi siswa dengan rata-rata 4.14, dan dimensi linkungan belajar rata-ratanya adalah 2.92. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika dengan metode daring bagi siswa di kecamatan Macang Pacar Kabupaten Manggarai  Barat tidak terlaksana dengan baik. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini direkomendasikan kepada guru untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran online dengan mempertimbangkan  sarana dan prasaran pendukung yang dapat memfasilitasi kegiatan pembelajaran yang interaktif dengan mempertibangkan asas keadilan bagi seluruh peserta didik.

Abstract

Sebagai calon guru SD, mahasiswa PGSD dituntut untuk memperoleh keterampilan dalam menyusun perencanaan pembelajaran matematika. Akan tetapi ditemukan masih begitu banyak mahasiswa PGSD yang kurang terampil dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran matematika di SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan bahan ajar perencanaan pembelajaran matematika bagi mahasiwa Tingkat II PGSD. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development yang mengacu pada model pengembangan dari Plomp dan disederhanakan menjadi emapt fase, yaitu investigasi awal, rancangan, realisasi atau konstruksi, pengujian, dan evaluasi dan revisi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng dengan jumlah subjek penelitian 54 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar angket dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahan ajar perencanaan pembelajaran matematika terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif. Kevalidan didasarkan pada persentase penilaian dari 3 validator, yaitu 87,96% termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Kepraktisan didasarkan pada ketuntasan nilai yang diperoleh mahasiswa pada kelas uji coba yang menggunakan bahan ajar tersebut, yaitu nilai minimum 60 dan maksimal 95 sehingga dinilai tuntas dan bahan ajar tersebut praktis. Sedangkan keefektifan didasarkan pada nilai rata-rata kelompok 1 (kelas uji coba) lebih tinggi dari kelompok 2 (kelas kontrol), yaitu 73,14 > 69,74. Dengan demikian, bahan ajar tesebut layak digunakan karena valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Computer-Based Mathematics Learning (CBML) has gone global in the last decade and is making a substantial impact for educational purposes. But the fact is that in the scientific literature, it is found that studies aimed at testing these theoretical assumptions have inconsistent results. In this regard, this meta-analysis was conducted to determine the effect of CBML and to analyze categorical variables to consider the implications. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database using Publish or Perish between 2010 and 2023. This study examined 29 independent samples from 28 eligible primary studies with 1179 subjects. The population estimate was based on a random effects model, and the CMA software was used as a calculation aid. The study's results provide an overall effect size of 1.03 (large effect). This indicates that applying CBML significantly affects students' mathematical abilities. The four categorical variables considered in the study are discussed to clarify research trends. Furthermore, the research implications are outlined and contribute to future CBML implementation arrangements.

Abstract

Urgensi penelitian ini untuk mengatasi masalah operasi hitung pecahan yang sampai saat ini masih menjadi momok bagi para guru disebabkan oleh kurangnya pengalaman dalam pemanfaatan media yang relevan untuk menyederhanakan konsepnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan operasi hitung pembagian pecahan menggunakan kertas lipat. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengacu pada desain Kemmis & McTaggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Katolik Benteng Wake Kecamatan Ruteng  Kabupaten Manggarai dengan jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 24 orang. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan teknik tes dan teknik observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Kriteria ketuntasan klasikal adalah minimal 85% peserta didik dapat menyelesaikan masalah operasi hitung pecahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keaktifan siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori cukup aktif pada siklus I sedangkan siklus II berada pada kategori sangat aktif. Data tes hasil belajar juga menunjukkan peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II dengan ketuntasan melebihi standar yang telah ditentukan. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan kertas lipat dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa pada operasi pembagian  pecahan. Disarankan bagi guru sekolah dasar untuk menggunakan kertas lipat dalam mengajarkan operasi hitung pembagian  pecahan pada penyebut berbeda dan/atau pada operasi hitung pecahan yang lain.

Abstract

However, it was found that there are still many elementary school students who have not been able to change problems in the form of mathematical modeling and are less precise in applying various problem-solving strategies. This study aims to describe the mathematization ability of elementary school students in the Ponggeok cluster of Satar Mese sub-district. This type of research is quantitative with survey method. The population in this study were all grade IV elementary school students in the Ponggeok Cluster, totaling 98 people. The research sample amounted to 58 fourth grade students who attended SDN Damu, SDK Ponggeok, and SDI Lada.  The sample was determined by purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a test and the instrument is a test question in the form of a non-routine description. The data were analyzed based on the achievement of each indicator of students' mathematical ability. The results showed that students have not been able to achieve all indicators of mathematization ability. In this case, most students reach one of the stages of the mathematization ability process, namely converting problems into mathematical symbols. In addition, there are also students who only write the final result of the problem presented in the test question. In this case 28 students reached one of the stages of the mathematization ability process, namely converting problems into mathematical symbols. In addition, there are 30 students who only write the final result of the problem presented in the test question. Thus it can be said that the mathematical ability of grade IV elementary school students in the Ponggeok Cluster is still relatively low.
