Abstract

This research about Developing Students' Reading Worksheet of tenth grade at SMA Negeri 4 Palopo, the researcher formulated the research question as follow: what kind of Reading Worksheet are suitable for tenth students'. The objective of this research is to create and develop reading worksheets for tenth-grade students' by using the Addie design model. In this research and development from the Addie model, this consists of Analyzing, Designing, Implementation, and evaluating. There are 14 students and two experts' validation. The instrument of the data collection is a questioner. The result of the research shows that the researcher develops and make a product based on the students' need. And the development of this product is also carried out based on the syllabus and curriculum that apply in the school itself. Based on the worksheet, have a development already appropriate necessity and lack of the students, and with the development worksheet would students' reading ability.

Abstract

This research aims to create a supporting media product in English Grammar learning in semester 2 students majoring in English at IAIN Palopo. based on observations in June 2019, the author found a problem in the scale of student use in smartphone use that is increasingly growing. Therefore, the author is interested in creating an online comic that can be accessed on the phone by using an application called Webtoon. The study design used in this study was Research and Development (R&D) utilized ADDIE Model. It consists of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The product is used as a supporting medium in English grammar learning which was once being studied by Semester 2 English Student IAIN Palopo. The product was tried out to the Students of Semester 2 of English Students at IAIN Palopo. The instruments were used in this study are Questionnaire for need analysis and observation sheet for 5 Experts and student’s perception. In this study, 5 experts were involved in order to validate the product. The elements of the validation are Display, Content/Materials, Language, and the Application. The result based from the expert’s validation as well as try-out product result, the product of this study was appropriate to be applied for the students of English Department semester 2, as a supporting media in Learning English Grammar

Abstract

This research about Developing Students’ Vocabulary by Using Magic Box Game at the Eighth-grade of SMPN 8 Palopo. The research question of this research was Does The Use of Magic Box Game Develop Students’ English Vocabulary at SMPN 8 Palopo. The objective of this research was to find out whether or not the use of magic box games can develop students’ English vocabulary. This research applied quasi-experimental. The population of this research was the eighth-grade students of SMPN 8 Palopo. The population was 283 students. the sample was class VIII 2 consisted of 30 students as an experimental group and class VIII 9 consisted of 30 students as the control group. The sampling technique in this research was purposive sampling. The instrument of the research was a vocabulary test. The researcher gave pretest and posttest to the students. As a result, there was a significant difference in vocabulary achievement between the students who are taught by using magic box game and those who are taught by non using magic box game. Based on the result of this research, the researcher concluded that the magic box game develops the students’ vocabulary.

Abstract

The writers aimed to develop an application for learning grammar namely Easy with Grammar (EWMAR). The writers applied the Research and Development method by adapting the ADDIE Model, which has five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. 70 learners of the first semester of the Shariah Management Business study program answered a need analysis questionnaire. Sixty-six learners were involved in the field try-out and three experts assessed the writers’ product. The instruments consisted of questionnaires and grammar tests. The technique of data analysis included descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Based on learners' perception questionnaire results, the mean score was 4 (100%), classified as "Excellent," which means that the EWMAR application was appropriate for the eleventh graders of senior high school learners. The average score of experts’ assessments was 3.27, and at the percentile, 81.75% met the "Good" criteria to use it with minor revisions. Therefore, the EWMAR application is feasible as a learning medium. The writers recommended another scholar develop more modern Android-based learning to facilitate the educational process.

Abstract

This study explores the critical role of mistakes and feedback in the learning process, focusing on the management of student performance in oral and written assessments. Mistakes are considered an inherent part of learning, so this study discusses strategies to effectively assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and create an environment that encourages continuous improvement. The first part of this study highlights that mistakes can be valuable learning opportunities. The study delves into the details of providing feedback in oral tasks, including how to deliver constructive feedback, encourage student reflection, identify areas for improvement, and motivate active participation in the learning process. The next section of the study addresses another crucial aspect of feedback, focusing on written assessments. It emphasizes effective methods to provide feedback to help students refine their writing skills. Additionally, it discusses how feedback can foster a growth mindset, increase resilience, and create a positive learning environment. The conclusion of this study advocates a holistic approach to learning, recognizing the role of mistakes while emphasizing the transformative impact of constructive feedback. By addressing both oral and written components, this study offers insights into effectively managing learning and creating an educational environment that supports continuous growth and improvement.
